My German father passed away earlier this year and amongst his things was a necklace with a note in German. It is most likely from one of his family members. I was just curious what it said. Thanks!

French [French > French/English] Can someone transcribe the lyrics to this French song?

Enable HLS to view with audio, or disable this notification

Hello! I’m looking for the lyrics to “Unis Dans La Nuit Unique” by Paris Bis. I’ve searched everywhere online but haven’t been able to find a full transcription.

I’m hoping someone who speaks or understands French could help me:

• Transcribe the full lyrics in French
• (Optional) Provide an English translation

I’ve included the song for reference. Even if you can only make out some of the lyrics, any help would be greatly appreciated!

Japanese (Long) [Japanese > English] NemNemNemotion, Nem's character insert song in Kamen Rider Zeztz

Hello and good day to you! I would like to understand the lyrics of the insert song which the series' female lead, Nem, sang. Note that she is a celebrity idol in the day who appears in the dreams of everyone, and while she wants the dreamer to have their wishes fulfilled, there's something unfortunate about her origin, and the dreams turning into twisted versions by the Nightmares, creatures that turn their dreams into a bad nightmare.

Unknown Unknown > English Note that a student left behind.

Post image

I work weekly programs in California with 6th-8th graders and found this note left behind on a clipboard. Is it a real language or some kind of code? After searching individual words on Google and typing the closest approximation of it into Google Translate, it suggested Yucatec Maya, which makes some sense since we were with a high migrant population that week. It wasn't able to translate much, though. None of the students' name match the names (?) on the page, and I have no way to contact them again anyways. Any ideas?

Translated [PT] [English > Brazilian Portuguese] Several lines for a book character, mostly a double-check

Hi everyone, first time poster here. I'm writing a book with a character who is a native Brazilian. She doesn't use too many Portuguese lines over the course of the book, but I want accuracy when she does. But, uh, some are sweary. Not NSFW sweary, but sweary all the same.

The character is fluent in English, but she reserves Portuguese for when she loses her temper. Classic multilingual stuff.

  • Story 1 has her giving an icy insult to another woman (named Elena for context). I landed on "Sua vaca, Elena. Sua filha da puta." From what I understand, that's contextually "You bitch ... You motherfucking bitch" (rather than a more literal "You cow"), which is about the right temperature that I'm aiming for. However, if there's something that would work more naturally, I'm all ears. It does not literally have to be "you bitch," but that's the equivalent I'm looking for, the shorter and sharper, the better.
  • Story 3 has her addressing her unnamed parents in Brazil. It seems Mãi and Pai are roughly equivalent to "Mom" and "Dad," which is basically what I want. If there are more practical or common forms of address for the speaker tags, I'd prefer that, but I'd prefer the casual "Mom/Dad" feeling over a formal "mother/father" unless it's more natural to use the longer words.
  • Similarly, both call her filha, which I was told is "daughter." Her mother at one point tries something more familiar, calling her querida, which I was told is "dear" or "darling."
  • The last in Story 3 is the one that I'm struggling the most with. I'm aiming for the character to tell herself basically, "I'll have faith" or "I must have faith" or "I'll do(?) faith." Here, I mean "faith" in a general sense, not a religious sense. (For context, she's basically thinking that she'll have faith that a romantic relationship is going to work out.) However, I intentionally wrote the passage so she whispers the Portuguese to herself, then I immediately intentionally shorten the translation to "Have Faith" in English as sort of a self-mantra. After a little research, my working version is "Vou ter fé."
  • Story 5 has her saying "Not you too" in a disappointed, defeated tone. (Surprise, the relationship turned a little sour.) It's in the context of that she's having a really bad day, everything is going wrong and no one is trusting her, and then The Guy basically assumes that she doesn't want him anymore or is pushing him away. She freezes, closes her eyes in disappointment, then mutters "Not you too," as a very contracted way of saying "Of all the people who I thought would add to my stress, I didn't expect you would too." The best I found was "Nem você."
  • Story 9 repairs the relationship and she gives The Guy a permanent pet name. I've landed on "my love," which she introduces with a mixed-language statement: "I love you, meu amor," if that's correct. She calls him "meu amor" from then on, or "amor" casually. From what I gather, that phrase isn't excessively loaded. I want her using "my love" almost as a slightly higher-temperature "babe." I don't want the equivalent of "my darling/beloved/light of my life" or other poetic frippery.
  • Story 10 is the last one, and the one that's most sweary. Some jerk is trying to intervene in the relationship and has angered my character in a nuclear way. She shouts several insults and threats, but importantly, the jerk is not in the room. She is not saying this to the jerk; she's shouting in general. I basically wanted "I'm going to kill that motherfucker," but perhaps even one step more intense. Right now I've got her shouting "Filho da puta," immediately followed by "Vou matar esse filho da puta do caralho!" Google Translate gives me that one as "I'm going to kill that fucking son of a bitch," which is the temperature I'm going for. But this one can be creative as long as it's snappy. The character is pissed, not going for a literary award.

Thanks in advance. I appreciate all of you.

Chinese [Chinese>English] Found Thrift Item

Found this item in a thrift store and wanted to use it for a craft, but I'd like to know the writing that was on it before painting over it. (Red markings on the saddle in all photos. Rotates around the horse's saddle and flanks. Thanks!

It was the only one of the set that had this writing, so I was curious.

Edit: Japanese writing? Google was all over the place but the stickers said "Made in China."
