Question Should I start reading chem03 book now?
Both my parents went to uni and said it’d be a good idea to prepare for chem 3. Is it really worth it? And can I find a free copy online or smth

Central place for all topics related to graduation tickets:

- If you have extras to offer
As always online, everyone please be aware of scams. We recommend only using this forum for free exchange. If you want to offer money for tickets, do so at your own risk, make sure tickets are genuine and valid, and don't send electronic pre-payment.

Hiiii im curious abt the community studies BA program at ucsc and what it consists of? I know you have to do the 6 month field research but how manageable is it? Im about to start community college majoring in Sociology and id like to transfer to ucsc for community studies and possibly double major with sociology? Also is there a better major to get into community studies with? My goal is community studies and I believe UCSC is the only california school offering such a degree? Sorry if this is incoherent, any info is appreciated <3

Hi guys. I have had my ESA (cat) approved by the DRC for the last month and I recently found out who my roommates are. I reached out to both of them through their school emails two weeks ago and received no response from either so I sent a follow up email about a week ago and still haven’t gotten a response from them. This concerns me because I also have early arrival. I will be arriving 6 days early so my ESA and I will be settled in by the time they arrive and if they don’t respond or view my emails before move in they will be surprised, which I was trying to avoid by emailing. My biggest concern is that apparently, despite the housing application asking questions about what animals a student would or would not be comfortable living with, people with ESAs or service animals are not guaranteed roommates that are ok with their animals. My biggest concern right now is them letting him out if I am gone while they move in. I am also pretty frustrated that I couldn’t coordinate with them about move in dates and that I have no idea what kind of people I will be living with. Like obviously I understood that I would be living with strangers, but I was hoping that we could at least get to know each other a little better through text or something. If you guys have any experience with this situation or have any advice on what to do if they don’t approve it would be appreciated.

Hey! I’m trying to revive the UCSC lesbian Discord since a lot of our members graduated last year and the server has gotten pretty quiet.
I’m hoping to get weekly meetings going again, along with random hangouts and events throughout the year. It’s mainly just meant to be a place for UCSC lesbians/sapphics to meet people, make friends, and actually have people to do things with.
I’m also looking for a few people who would be interested in being moderators and helping me keep the server active this year. You don’t have to have any experience, I mostly just need people who are willing to help organize things and keep conversations going.
If you’re at UCSC and want to join, here’s the Discord:
https://discord.gg/Sts378N6Y
And if you’re interested in helping run it, feel free to message me!

I submitted my fafsa verification like 2 weeks late bc my dad kept giving me the wrong document. I think that’s why I still haven’t gotten my financial aid yet even though UCSC stated that they’d release it all by sept 1st. Do I continue waiting or should I be concerned?

Hey UCSC students! I’m looking for a roommate who also attends UCSC to share an off-campus place.
If you’re currently looking for a roommate or planning to move off campus, please reach out to me. I’d love to connect and discuss details!
Like the title says but it seems their drop in and zoom advising are closed so I can only email which takes weeks to get a response back

Has anyone stayed in a single room on floor 2, of Porter-Hall A? I want to know what to expect!

Hello, I’m wondering if anyone has pictures or descriptions of their SMALL double dorm on the 6th floor at Porter (include room number if comfortable). There is nothing anywhere on their website and the people I was able to call were incredibly unhelpful. Most importantly, I’d like to know what types of beds were in the dorm - lofts, bunks, seperate beds?
thanks :)

Hi guys so i am starting to freak out a bit over my whole situation with Financial aid and things of that nature.
So back when i got off the waitlist for UCSC a few weeks later i was offered generous aid that impacted my decision on attending ucsc. I kept up with most things on my to do list (statement of legal residency included). Fast forward to July im reviewing everything and notice on my to do list the statement of legal residency is showing up and indicating that i did not complete when i clearly remember that i did. I panicked and rushed to try and submit but it did not let me anymore. And what made me review all these things in the first place is that in my financial aid section displayed that i am getting 0 in aid and the cost to attend is 87k which is the price for out of state students with no aid (i have lived in cali all of my life and ive never been to another state before, traveled to my parents home country once lol and i have a SAI of -1500) . I was not sure if this was a system glitch/error but i immediately started panicking and emailed the office of registar explaining my situation and thankgod i got a resposnse the next day saying that they had made it available to me again and to do it before aug 27. Obviously i completed it the second they made it available to me and tippled checked that they had received it but that did not solve the fact that i still had zero aid!!!! So this is another area i feel scared of and mind you this all happened in the span of July 26-30. Then on Aug 18th i receive an email saying "We’re writing to share an update on your 2026–27 financial aid offer. If you have not yet received your official offer, your financial aid is still being processed. We remain on track to provide official financial aid offers by September 1 for students whose financial aid files were completed by August 15". This honestly relieved me seeing the release dates for financial aid but now it is the end of Sep 1st and still 0 aid, 24k due by sep 17 with no way to pay it. And i have emailed the financial aid office and no response yet as well as attempting to join the zoom meeting drop in hours but no luck since they all fill up in the first 30 sec LOL.
Any advice, thoughts and encouragement greatly appreciated.

I got my financial aid offer yesterday and I’m struggling to understand if I’m paying anything at all? Ik it sounds stupid but I just don’t want to mess anything up. So I want to go in person to the financial aid office tomorrow, has anyone had any luck with that or know how it works? Can I just show up at 1( I’d probably get there earlier than that) or do I need an appointment? Thank you all for ur help!!

Hi all! Just a friendly reminder that work study is out today :) I applied at 12am and just got approved at 10am
A financial aid advisor told me they changed the way you get work study, so now you have to request it:
Hope this helped!

Does anyone have recommendations for a relatively easy/chill 2-unit course? Looking for something low-stress and not too time-consuming.
Hello I am an incoming villager and I was kinda worried since I wasn’t planning on getting a meal plan. How do the kitchens work, usually how many people use them? How does everyone store their food? How much food can you store, is there like a bucket system lol? And do you think I will be realistically able to grocery shop maybe once a week and be able to feed myself with my own food from the kitchen? I hope this makes sense😭 Thanks for any insight!

has anyone been able to get in line for the financial aid virtual drop in? I checked at 7am, 8am, and now at 9am, but it always says closed. am I missing something?
edit to clarify: i can't even get onto the zoom, the waitwell line on the financial aid page just says closed.
