Hello, I'm new, i plan to transfer in the future and I have some questions regarding safety of valuable personal items at shared bedrooms like triples, I mean things like cash, laptops, electronics, personal documents, etc. As far as I know, there are no lockable drawers or at least haven't heard of rooms including them, my question is, do you usually leave any of the items previously mentioned on your bedroom when you leave your building or do you carry any valuable items with you whenever you leave? I know rooms should have doors with locks, but in a triple other people also have the key so what guarantee there is someone will not leave the door open by accident and somebody breaks in and steal stuff? (or even your own roommates) even if you leave them in a backpack, technically there is still a chance of theft, I know there's renters insurance but still this issue worries me, is bringing a personal lockbox to your room a good idea for this reason? have anyone done it? thanks.

hi all! basically you can guess what i'm asking from the title lol.

basically i'm an incoming first-year at UCSD, hoping to get more expressive with my trans (mtf) identity and all, now that i've got more freedom in college. in order from the title:

- i have an appointment at SHS for the first monday UC SHIP is active, which i specifically scheduled to start the process of getting on hrt. my big question here is if it's under the informed consent model (and i'll be starting on the same day of my appointment), or if it's a more thorough referral-filled process. if it's the latter, is there any quicker i can access hrt or is it fastest through SHS? i couldn't get any real resources from the websites or anything...
- what types of opportunities do i have to meet other communities of queer people? i opted out of the muir LLC, so was mostly looking for opportunities through clubs or other activities.

Guys we are in college, please make sure to close the trash chute correctly, I’m in umoja and idk what floor has it open but I haven’t been able to throw my trash for like 2 hours 😬. I am not going to be searching for which floor has the chute, just please close it correctly it messes up the whole building and then people just leave trash bags in the room…thank you..

So how are we suppose to pay for non tuition charges by september 15th if the website doesn't even work? Why is the balance not available?

I’m enrolled in this class but it shows up twice in my “booked classes” page and the second time it’s listed it gives this warning. Anyone else have this? Do you guys think I should submit a support ticket for this?

i plan to apply for a switch into the public health major after this year. i only have 1/4 points on the admission selection point system (more points you have, better chance of getting in). last year 15/47 people got in, and that was a small applicant pool too. are my chances of getting it cooked??

Incoming Marshall biochem freshman here. I got the 4pm booking time for both first and second pass so there was hardly anything left for me to choose. I ended up picking doc, hild7a, and physics 1c (fortunately as they just approved my tea), but don’t know what to do for my second pass. Math 20c, math 11, ochem, chem7l, and vis1 are completely full.

I only have 11 credits so far, and would like to waitlist chem41a, phys1al and math 11. Other than that, I don’t have any options left.

What should I pick for my second pass? And how likely is it for me to get off one or all waitlists? If I talk to the professors about my situation, how likely is it for them to add spots?

is there anyway to opt out of some campus fees? there’s a bunch and i wanna see if there is a way to opt out of them. other than that is the uc ship waiver working?? it still tells me there is no account found for my ucsd email. is there a specific link i should go to. i already contacted them via email but i got an email back saying they won’t respond until 3-5 business days at the earliest

Incoming freshman here, nanoengineer. First pass i secured math 18, nano 15 and nano 4. I tried to get 20c, wcwp, phys 2a, and did not get any of those. Can anyone tell me what classes i can take to fill up my schedule or what classes i should waitlist in that i actually have a chance of getting in?

I filled out the psych common app for research and I wanna know how hard it is to actually get matched into a lab. Also any tips for what would make my responses stand out/best ways to get involved in research would be very appreciated I am so desperate atp :/

I haven’t been able to open the financial aid portal ever because of the maintenance and I heard it’s getting fixed the same day that the financial get gets disbursed. my questions are am I going to automatically get my grants without having to manually accept them? how will I know I’m getting my grants. I need them.

I am an incoming transfer student who was assigned to 7th college and am currently planning on taking 14 units this semester, 3 classes which are 4 units and a class that’s 2 units. Because I am in 7th college, I have to take SYN100. I can also take SYN150 before SYN100 (taking in fall) to satisfy my high-impact requirement. This would require me to take 18 units total for my first semester. Is this too much? And is 14 units too little?

Ok so I have AP credit for all of BILD, and am booked for MATH 10A and CHEM 6A, but I can't think of a single class that I can take to fill out my schedule. I'm not allowed to take HUM until winter, Spanish is full, physics is too much additional work and also full, and I'm not supposed to take any upper div classes until I'm a junior.

Ig I could take fine arts? but the class I was looking at (VIS 1) is only one day of the week, which means that I still feel like I could take at least one more class.

Can anyone help me think of any other classes I could reasonably take? I have a pretty high tolerance for heavy workloads, and I don't want to sit around doing nothing if I could be getting through more classes I need to take, but I also don't want to completely burn out lol.

Okay so where can I switch my major and add a minor? I’ve been waiting for forever since they keep pushing the date. On their resources document it said it would be replaced with “Specializations request app” on TSS mid August and I didn’t find it.

Maybe until school starts? Sigh 💔

I applied for dining job a year ago. They eventually gave me a email where it said they gonna move forward with my application to next phase. Now I am on the point where they told me to watch a youtube video and fill out a form. If I am selected they will contact me. my question is how likely I will be hired. How long the hiring process and is there any chances to get rejected. I already let them know that I am interested to work in dining.

I’m so confused. The email says to go to TritonLink to submit the health fee waiver. But tritonlink is down. I looked on the ucsd website and it doesn’t look like there’s an alternate link to submit that form.

What am I even supposed to do?
