Never let anyone tell you the gap between the P4 and G6 is that wide.

The bottom of the P4 despite all the money and resources is just as terrible as it’s always been.

How Long Have You Been a Fan of Your Team?

Proud of this conference and really excited for Pac-12 football coming up! It’s been fun reading about our new Pac-12 fans/teams and I was just curious how long you’ve been rooting for your teams? For me, I’ve been a die hard Oregon State fan since 1994! Born in Corvallis, everyone in my family (myself included) graduated from OSU, my parents met there, and I’ve been going to all the games since I was 5. Go Beavs!

Canzano - On Pac-12 expansion

In yesterdays Canzano and Wilner, Canzano says that he thinks Pac-12 expansion hinges on TV ratings this year on USA and if the flex schedule is a flop.

He mused that from his interview with Hong at USA he got the feeling USA wanted more college football games but the Pac-12 may want to have a season of really good ratings under their belt to drive a harder bargain for more money for any expansion team.

https://youtu.be/-n_1orXXbGs?si=lawosdoozXG4bjyO

Sounds logical, but you still have to have a willing and worthy suitor to expand. Even if the ratings are stellar, the pool of candidates seems thin

I'm very curious how long the Pac-12 plays the flex schedule

Replay Review Access

In addition to enhanced access on the field with Pac-12 Enterprises’ mic’d-up content, the league and its production team will bring its fans and viewers into its command center and replay room for in-game officiating replay reviews. The process, when applicable and in partnership with Pac-12 broadcast partners, will include an on-air rules expert providing viewers with updates from the command center and replay crew’s process as the audience  sees and hears the crew’s official decision.

Enhanced Access: Football Broadcast Content & Production

Coming to the Pac-12’s nationally televised lineup of home games this season will be enhanced access to its head coaches and student-athletes with “Pac-12 Field Pass,” featuring opportunities for each to wear microphones during game action. The opportunities are made possible through the league’s efforts, with guidance and expertise from its best-in-class Pac-12 Enterprises production team, to drive change with the NCAA FBS Oversight Committee in updating applicable rules and regulations, as well as through the Pac-12’s partnerships across CBS Sports, USA Sports and CW Sports.

For participating coaches, student-athletes and programs, mic’d-up content will be produced by Pac-12 Enterprises for its broadcast partners with an internal process of review for quick turnaround in-game to bring fans and viewers closer to the live action than ever before. The Pac-12 will work with its institutions and broadcast partners for the enhanced access and rollout. Pac-12 Enterprises is set to produce the vast majority of its home game broadcasts in partnership with CBS Sports, USA Sports and CW Sports.

Bowl Opportunities & Partnerships

For the 2026 season, the Pac-12 will see a number of continuing and new partnerships across its postseason bowl opportunities. Across all bowl partnerships, the league’s opportunities in 2026 are distinguished by former and new members of the conference.

Oregon State and Washington State will be eligible for several bowls alongside former members of the conference, as well as the 2026 SDCCU Poinsettia Bowl alongside all six new members. The six new members of the Pac-12 this season will also be eligible for several additional postseason opportunities beyond the Poinsettia Bowl.

Pac-12 Football Officiating Updates

Ahead of the 2026 season’s kickoff, the Pac-12 today formally announced updates regarding its football officiating program, as well as information regarding its future direction beginning in 2027 as Vice President of Officiating David Coleman is set to transition from the role following the 2026 campaign. The league will begin a search for its new head of officiating during the coming season.

Senior Vice President of Football Administration Merton Hanks offered the following statement regarding the news of the league’s future direction for its football officiating program: “We are excited to kick off our first season of the new Pac-12 with a strong foundation for our football officiating program thanks to key relationships, continuity and leadership from VP of Officiating David Coleman. The Pac-12 looks forward to a successful season on the field and we are proud to continue to evolve and adapt with enhanced access to our officiating process in 2026. On a personal note, I am thrilled to work this first season with a great team across our football administration and member institutions and sincerely thank David Coleman for all that he has done for the Pac-12 in his position and the high level of integrity he has brought and will continue to bring in 2026 to the role.”

For 2026, the Pac-12 is fully equipped with five officiating crews under contract with the majority of its officials possessing prior autonomy-level officiating experience.

Pac-12 Enterprises: Building & Expanding the League’s Commercial Entity

In building the Pac-12 over the past two years and with a focus on building a new, more connected and modern collegiate sports league, the conference has formally announced today an evolution and expansion of Pac-12 Enterprises. The expansion will bring together all commercial activity, operations and strategy, including with content, data, licensing, media, ticketing, merchandise, partnerships, production and broadcast solutions, technology and other commercial assets, under one coordinated operating model.

All of Pac-12 Enterprises will be led by the Chief Commercial & Growth Officer, reporting to Commissioner Gould, with the Pac-12’s studio production and broadcast solutions unit overseen by Senior Vice President of Production and Broadcast Solutions Michael Molinari, technology and engineering units overseen by Chief Technology Officer Scott Adametz, multimedia distribution, licensing and monetization overseen by Senior Vice President of Multimedia Dustin Rocke, and sponsorship, ticketing, merchandise and data rights overseen by Vice President of Commercial Revenue Sean Peters. The league’s integrated partnerships and sponsorships business will continue to grow in partnership with Playfly Sports lead by Vice President of Integrated Partnerships and General Manager of the property at Playfly Sports Damon Dukakis.

Today’s announcement is an expansion of Pac-12 Enterprises’ overall entity to include its growing, best-in-class live event and studio production business, as well as its broadcast technology services and solutions business.

USA Sports was involved in the addition of Texas State and way before the Pac-12 announced their deal with them and more.

USA Sports president, Matt Hong: “When we signed our deal, or right before, we did it with only seven football schools. We did have a discussion with the Pac-12 about what ultimately would end up being the eighth football school (Texas State). That’s obviously the conference’s call to make. But I’ll describe it as an open, collaborative conversation and process where we gave some thoughts.

We raised our hand, and as part of our ‘draft’ of games, we have two of those four flex games. It’s just another example of how the Pac-12 has really lived up to its vision and what they told us about being innovative and flexible. And we reciprocated by taking two of those four games. We obviously want to live up to our word as well. But that was more about us also wanting to be innovative and presenting our viewers on USA Sports with something unique and innovative.

We’ll have Premier League and Bundesliga matches the same day as Pac-12 football. We’ll have WWE the night before Pac-12 football. There will be some days this fall where we will have Pac-12 football and a NASCAR race. One of the promises we made to the Pac-12 and all of our leagues is that we’re going to try to get new viewers for your property from our existing properties.”

Texas State QB Brad Jackson Ranked as Top College Fantasy QB [Athlon Sports]

Post image

I didn't realize college football fantasy leagues were a thing but while looking through the Fantasy Football magazine from Athlon Sports I saw Texas State QB Brad Jackson listed as the top ranked QB! He even got the coveted photo spot.

Since he and Arch Manning are playing each other this Saturday that could be one helluva game to watch!

Yeah, the Pac-12 is going to want it's autonmous status back.

Quote from this article, "That’s not how the Pac-12 sees it, still believing despite the massive reshuffle in members, it belongs at the highest tier of college sports, even if those outside say otherwise.

“You'll hear us talk a lot about being a top-five conference,” Gould said. “What we don't control are these kind of power monikers that are used in the media that you know are kind of ambiguous in terms of what that really means. We're in this place where we're going to control what we can control and create our own lane. But what we know is that we're a top-five league, and the results on the field will show that.” “We stand right there with everyone else,” Griffin added.

“We'll see, but I absolutely believe that it's in one of those top-five conferences. You call it Power Five with the Pac-12? I believe that,” Danielson said. “Now we have to go prove that, right?”

Oregon State coach Jamarcus Shephard shares update on Sullivan, Ayers

Shephard is talking like he’s not in charge of these decisions, seems odd

“Aiden Sullivan, as of right now, I haven’t been told he can’t go on Saturday,” Shephard said. “So we’re planning to have him there on Saturday.”

“Exodus Ayers, I don’t really have any information on him,” Shephard said Monday. “Only because it’s kind of an ongoing situation with him. So, he’s got some rights and things that he has at his disposal and, as far as it pertains to us in the university, look, I’ve got to let that play out however it does.”
