Just got home and checked scores and got like emotional when I saw the lead and watched the highlights. I’m a BG alum who grew up in Toledo and has lived in Oxford for 10 years, the MACtion just came alive in me for this Minutemen team.

I know there must be a few UA alumni who care about Zips football.  I am one of them.  The Akron Beacon Journal posted an article today, in which HC Joe Moorehead sounded fairly positive about the Zips' hopes for this year.  Tonight's game against WF is going to be a rough start, but this is expected.  Can the Zips win six games this year? Yes? Maybe? I know the MAC is generally in the same boat in regard to the transfer portal, etc., but UA lost 41(!) players from last year’s 5-7 team. As a general question, is this sustainable for the G6, especially if your team has been down since before NIL and the portal?

2010’s MAC Era

I never really paid too much attention to MAC football, (I’m more of a Big 10) basketball guy. But while playing CF27 I saw history data that shows in the 2010s NIU won 3 Titles in a 4yr span with 5 straight years of 11+ wins which is a feat that hasn’t been done a lot in the MAC. What would you say was the significance and players that stood out to make that possible?

Can someone tell me a little more about this water pump. I have had it for about six years. It was given to me about six years ago from a customer on a job site I was working on. All I know is it looks cool and it has a plaque on it that says property US Coast Guard. I have never tried to use it, but I imagine it was probably pretty bad ass for whatever it was used for. If anybody has any insights I would love to know what it was actually used for and if it was even legal to own it? If so, does it have any resale value.

Giving thought to doing Saturday 8/29 Dodgers @ Tigers 1:10 and then Sacramento State @ Eastern Michigan football 6:30 in Ypsilanti. Is this possible to make both? And any tips on tickets for either? (Cheapest possible preferred). Thanks.

I've never been to Michigan so I want to take a trip up there and see the fall leaves and of course experience some MACtion. I'd like to go sometime late September to mid October. I see Western Michigan plays Boise State at home so that could be cool but I'm also wondering if any rivalry games would be more fun to go to.

Eastern Michigan has the most underrated coach in College Football in Chris Creighton and after a couple down years there is once again a lot of excitement for what the Eagles can do in 2026

I went to a K-State bar in Manhattan, Kansas last night wearing a very generic shirt that just read “Eastern Michigan Football”. I was talking to this guy, we were just chatting, he kind of goes off the rail and at some point says “and this guy’s wearing a high school shirt” I was dumbfounded. He said it like an insult after we were being friendly. I just say Eastern Michigan is a division 1 school and start to go about my business. Dude did not like that and for whatever reason I entertained it and got into an actual fight over it. Needless to say I won because I have the MAC on my back. After I was kicked out of “Tubby’s” I go around and ask a couple other guys in their bar district what they think Eastern Michigan is. Everything was a retold response of “that sounds like a high school” I don’t know if it’s just Kansas State? I’ve heard they aren’t the smartest and they really didn’t seem like it but I feel any fan of college sports would know at the very least about the grey turf and Maxx Crosby. I have never set foot in Ypsilanti, or Michigan, and I am not an Eastern Michigan fan.

📌 The Zips have an exciting option at QB Reese Poffenbarger hasn't started in a couple years, but there are a lot of reasons to be excited about him

📌 RB Jordan Gant is one of the best returning players in the MAC & the Zips have a promising group of receivers

📌 The Zips have been quietly good defensively for a couple years. Cyrus Durham is a great pass rusher that returns and the secondary has experience

What are your predictions for the Zips in 2026? Most importantly, have you already purchased Akron season tickets or will you purchase them to potentially be their OC for a drive?

It was such a good sign to see Delaware FH agree to join the conference in 2027-28. Is this a sign of things to come? Their rowing team is already an affiliate! Will they join as full members? Could be a legitimate possibility now with the Sac. State cash…
