❣️Reminder to keep us safe:

Over the last month, I’ve received a few reports from members being solicited over PM. While these couple offenders have been promptly and permanently banned from this subreddit — and reported up the chain — apparently some are still trying their luck.

Please be advised that each of these reports has involved known scammers, including the u/TarnishedKnightSamus, who may be trying to ban evade.

To keep yourself and this community safe:

• Never agree to send money to anyone who private messages you offering an exchange for “goods.”

• If you receive such a message, please alert us immediately to protect other members of this Recovery Community. The mere solicitation (even for a scam) can be triggering for some people and put them in jeopardy.

That means that if you provide a screenshot of the indiscretion, I will not share that image with anyone else. Thanks for taking the time to be here, and thank you to anyone who has alerted us to this already. Obviously, this is a community about support, safety and personal growth and someone with an agenda to solicit/scam is working in diametric opposition to those values.

Im curious if others have experienced this.

(I am using my partners account)

So, ive recenty dropped my use quite heavily.

I was doing between 2.5 amd 3.5g a day and now im fown to maybe .2-.6 at most a day.

The first few weeks where hell, constant panic attacks.

That aside its been a while from then, but i still have very constant anxiety, and changes of physical state(thats the only way i can really describe it)

I have constant intrusive thoughts about dying too and i feel like im convinced itll just happen, except thi is all the time. Im anxious about being anxious.

Theres no real stimuli to why i feel like this and it gets worse when i use to stop the physical side of the withdrawls.

Is this part of PAWs?

I know everybody is different and experiences different things but this feels like hell...

Also, do you think that being on a low usage dose like i am, i would be able to get away with trying to cold turkey without too much hasle? Thanks for reading.

No 7OH since the ban. Now what?

Edit Update: I’m not asking how to get high in a recovery page. I’m asking what people are doing or taking to deal with the withdrawal from 7-oh?

What are people doing to get over the loss of the 7OH? And plz don’t say cats claw bc I’ve tried it and the withdrawals are worse and never even make you feel good. I’m spending so much on them just to avoid withdrawal. There has to be a better way.

WD Rant

Hi guys, been a member of r opiates and this sub since 2019, started out as a small time Oxy popper (10 mg every week or so), then I got injured on my skateboard and started upping my doses to cope with the pain I had for that month, I was taking 10mg a day by this point, then when I ran out of the stash I copped I hit my first withdrawals which were slight, just couldn’t sleep the first 2 nights with RLS. That’s when I became a member of the opiates sub and seen how their were thousands more in even worst predicaments and my stupid ass just decided hmm let me see what that feels like.Anyways… me and my friend come across a plug selling “30s”, for perspective it was 2019 we were 20 years old and had no clue, we bought those for 2 months before we found a old lady with real m box 30s and it rocked our world, I immediately stopped taking them when I found out it was Fent and had the worst WD symptoms and it made me relapse over and over again, ended up meeting my wife that year but was scared for her to find out my consumption but it didn’t take long, over the next 2 years she’s supporting the hell out of me trying to help me escape it and not criticizing me at all about it.Perfect support system I just was too weak, in 2021 it was at its peak, I was sipping codeine, doing xanax, and 120-150mg daily at this point, I had to do something so I get on suboxone and it was the worst experience EVER!! Not so bad cause I wasn’t wasting money on pills but I was still a slave to an orange sticky sheet, I don’t make it past 3 months…fast forward to 2023 I finally quit from May-December from a 30-40mg a day habit, with subs once again and I was fine by June then my dog passes away… rips my heart out my chest and I begin to pop again, not much but once again it gets to about 30 mg daily, I get a new job where I physically work all day so it helps me quit again with only one day of subs, thennnn I relapse again because work was stressing me out and I was using it as a crutch to ignore all the bullshit and become what I wanted to be, a guy who could fix anything and I was absolutely outstanding, it helped me become licensed in my profession and helped me not lash out on a lot of people lol but I just had a daughter this January and I’ve honestly been wanting to quit since then, I also got a WAYYY better job then I had and my life is actually stable now where I don’t need that crutch,I am currently on day 2 after taking like a 0.125 (if that) piece of sub, I was gonna do it for 3 days but nah fuck that I’m just gonna thug it out, sadly but not I won’t be able to come back to this profession once I quit, it’s gotten expensive and I’ve got a mouth to feed now. And I think about every day what if I die early from drug use wearing my body down and she doesn’t experience a dad, heartbreaking stuff. Also I hope this withdrawal doesn’t go too bad cause the last time I recovered myself was 2023

Hey all, happy Monday! We’re back to it. Hope everyone’s day is going well.
It’s also the last day of August. The end of the month always gets me a little reflective, just thinking about how the month went and what I accomplished. August especially feels that way since we’re wrapping up summer, heading into September and getting closer to fall.
It’s been a pretty busy day for me, and I’m finally getting a chance to sit down and relax. How’s your day been?

Relapsed on heroin after being on Suboxone for two years

Hi there I really need some advice. I recently relapsed on heroin due to a horrible kidney stone. I only used about three grams in about 12 days time but that was all it took for me to get horrible withdrawals. I don't know what to do. I tried to wait 12 hours after my last dose of heroin to start taking Suboxone again and I got extremely sick. I was so sick I couldn't do anything. I crapped my pants and had to take a bath and I was so sick and out of it that I flooded the entire bathroom. I was too sick to take my daughter to school and could hardly take care of her. She was happy to play hooky from school and just watched cartoons but I felt like a horrible mother. I kept taking more Suboxone until I took about 12mg but I didn't start to feel much better but did feel slightly better after awhile. Shortly after that my kidney stone pain came crashing back with a vengeance. After 12 hours of being on subs I caved and took a large dose of h. My heart rate was at like 150 bpms and I felt light headed and the kidney stone pain was so bad I ended up going to the hospital where I currently am. Been too scared to take subs again and have been taking very very small doses of heroin to try to wean down again. It's been about 48 hours since I took the 12mgs of subs. I'm scared and don't know what to do and this is just so unbearable with kidney stone pain and they are about to dismiss me from the hospital. They've been giving me morphine but it's done nothing. I've been sneaking off to the bathroom about every five hours to take tiny doses of h but not enough to fully get out of withdrawals. I don't know what the best course of action would be. I don't know if it would be better to wean down on the h before I start waiting it out to try subs again or to just stop taking it and try to get through the misery of 24 hours before I take Suboxone again. I've been on Suboxone for two years so I'm thinking why it's so severe this time. I used to take a gram or more of heroin every day for six months and when I finally decided to get on Suboxone I remember it being very uncomfortable but nothing compared to this. The withdrawals have been far worse and with the kidney stone pain it's just unbearable. I've been on Suboxone for a little over two years but I've kept my dose fairly low around 2-4mg a day. Any advice would be greatly appreciated. I'm so scared

Update: thank you all for the great advice. I think I'm over the worst of it and I am hoping that I won't have to get back on Suboxone. Feeling better today.

Sublocade question

Hello all - so I’m about 6/7 months post last injection. My injections prior to this were the lowest viable dose for the ~6 months I was on Sublocade (was on suboxone for about a year and a half prior to swapping to Sublocade).

My question is this: of course the doc informed me of the “year long” efficacy of the drug once the ramp injections are thru, but I had a hard time this was universally true for ALL patients. I have an extremely fast metabolism (like, would come up clean on a piss test at my docs office if I didn’t take my Adderall the day of my test, at which point he’d be worried I was not taking my adhd meds haha) and as such I’m curious to know, for any of you that were on Sublocade prior to nothing - how long did it take to run out of your system?

I’m curious more just for, well, no particular reason outside of general curiosity haha.

Life’s quite literally never been better - I just sometimes find myself wondering if it’s out of my system fully or not (either way, I’m not really sure what difference it would make haha?). Thanks in advance 🙏

accidentally got hooked on tramadol.

so about 3 years back i (17f at the time) would have very bad period cramps to the point where i would pass out from the pain. i had an extremely important exam that i had been preparing for since 2 years but i got my period that day and i couldn’t move so my mother who is a doctor gave me a tramadol based painkiller and after a while i felt so euphoric with j one pill. it felt like the happiness and peace i had been desperately waiting for. (i was also severely depressed at the time and in therapy). from then i would take an extra pill every once in a while. Then i started making excuses and taking them even when i felt no pain at all. Last year I would take like 5-6 pills consecutively for 2-3 days till i would run out then forget abt them and come back to them in a month or two but i would come back, the interval would differ tho.

This year i was prescribed an ssri for my depression and i still continued taking them. it came to a point where i was taking 7-8 pills (300mg approx) while on my ssri. and i would come back to them faster. i would have mild withdrawals but nothing i couldn’t deal with so it didn’t feel that scary either.
Recently my parents found this new therapist who properly assessed me for a diagnosis and when it came to substances i was honest about my canabis and occasional alcohol use but i physically couldn’t mention this in the moment. i got diagnosed w bpd. i ran out and tried to get some pills again but i feel like ive exhausted all resources and i didn’t know what to do and the withdrawal felt particularly difficult this time so after gather up the courage i told my therapist abt it. she was very surprised about the high dose along w my ssri.

i want to get off it completely because it was starting to affect my life a lot. but i feel so scared and empty. if i never feel that warm and fuzzy feeling again than life feels miserable and pointless.
any opinions are appreciated!

edit: does anyone know what kind of withdrawal symptoms are there for tramadol, like what can i expect the next week to look like?

I finally shook my oxy addiction after a year of trying

I’ve been trying to stop oxy for a lil now . June 10 2025 was the first time I experienced withdrawal and it was by accident too because believe it or not I was taking oxy for 3-4 years up to this point but VERYYYYY secretly like literally no one knew but my plug and I managed to hide it because my life literally got better after taking them. Started making a shit ton of money to the point where I was saving 1500-2000 a week and I got unbelievably lucky with my connect and was getting them for absolutely no where near what people usually pay for real 30mg roxys because she didn’t really know the value of what she had. Idk if I can say but I was getting 180 Real 30s for 500 I was taking her to CVS every month. Anyways that day I went to my sisters house which was 2 hours away from my house and got there at like midnight and realized I left them at home and said fuck it I’ll use this weekend to “reset my tolerance” I knew I was addicted to them but I didn’t even know what opiates are or that oxy was a opiate and I thought it was like being addicted to my vape or weed and I’ll probably just have a hard time sleeping and lil minor stuff but BOYYYYYY did I learn what opiates are and what withdrawals are. I had to act like I had food poisoning from the diner I stopped at on the way to her house and legit felt like I was gonna die And started doing research and found this subreddit and learned all about withdrawal and went and got some Imodium to stop me from shitting my brains out and that Sunday I drove home and took 2 30s and INSTANTLY felt better like before the shit even dissolved it’s wild and that’s when I was like yeah I’m fucking screwed and tried again and failed at 7 days and then again for a month then I was using everyday again until like 2-3 months ago because realized I always only wanted to stop because the withdrawals were bad but always planned on using again it wasn’t until I finally realized that this cycle will never end and no matter what I do I can’t beat it or go around it and that I will in some form feel withdrawals anytime I wanna stop and risk starting that cycle again every time I relapse and finally lost the desire too and I’ve lost count on how many days it’s been but I feel amazing and I love this feeling more than the oxy feeling that I barely even remember because I haven’t truly felt it I’m so long. But if I can do it so can you. Thank you for taking the time to read this.

Doctors making me get on subs for a month before sublocade.

A little disappointed honestly. I thought I’d only have to do it for a week or 2 then get the shot but she said I have to be on 8mg for a month before she gives it to me smh. Has anyone been thru this before. I read a lot of posts and most only got on for a week not even 2 or more.

Hey all! I hope everyone is enjoying their Saturday so far. It’s warm and sunny with low humidity here, so it’s been really nice to be outside.
I did some reorganizing and cleaning in my bedroom and around my home office desk today. It’s funny how many things I thought I’d lost ended up being right there. 😂 It felt good to find some things and get a little cleaning and organizing accomplished! How’s everyone’s weekend so far?

Day 6 WD

Here I am at day 6 WD. Yesterday I had alot of fatigue. The majority of the restlessness ended about late afternoon, which all of us that have ever went through WD, knows how uncomfortable that restless feeling is. Coughing, nagging scratch at the back of my throat was still there. Ended up getting some Tussin cough syrup, which seemed to either help, or its another symptom thats beginning to fade away. The last few nights I stayed on the couch because I didnt want to wake up my husband with my cough, or the fact that I was flopping on the mattress like a fish out of water, just to try to get comfortable. Last night however, I loaded myself up with cough syrup and some gabapentin and went to sleep in bed. Woke up a few times to switch positions to get comfortable but that was mostly because I have back pain all the time so moving around some at night isnt abnormal. Coughing fits were still there but not as bad as previous nights. No sweats.

Now to today. I woke up this morning hacking up what seems like a crap ton of ick out of my lungs. Which due to the fact opioids keep you from coughing on a regualr basis, having a buildup of ick is also not abnormal. Im not as restless today. I feel a little groggy and dont have alot of motivation yet this morning so we shall see if I get some in the next couple of hours. I do feel a little hope this morning, as opposed to the previous days where hopeless was the feeling of the day.

Tonight will be the test. I wil not take anything like gabalentin to see if I can keep the restlessness at bay on my own. I dont really like to take gabapentin nightly for more than a few days because I dont want my body to get used to it and then be like where is it, and put me in wd from that. Im going to try to get housework done today and hopefully get rid of this cough. Wish me luck! Hope everyone trying to get to recovery and all who are now living in recovery, have a blessed and beautiful day! Much love!

The day I make one year sober

Today I made one year over of taking 30 mg oxycodone 20 mg and 10 mg Percocet every day for six years. I finally made it through the rain and I’m here to tell anybody who is going to withdraw that it is going to be OK. You have to be willing to get your self back together in order to beat this demon. I know it’s hard. I know it’s difficult some days but I’m here to tell you from somebody who took 120 mg a day to being a year sober
. It is the best that is ever made in my life, Everything, I lost friends family jobs. Money Everything is coming back. It just takes some time for you to get your mind together and realize what the things you lost I’m here to tell you if you’re going thru any withdrawal, you’re going to make it just pray and believe in yourself that you can get through it.

I've got to get clean so bad. Does addiction mess with your emotions?

I'm in a relationship and I'm not sure if I should be here or not and I have a feeling that codeine use for years has stunted my ability to feel love properly.

I've really got to get clean so my emotions are really my own and not through a fog or twisted by artificially managed dopamine levels.

Im late 30s M. I got a divorce 4 years ago that turned my life upside down and really ramped my addiction into overdrive to survive.

But lately it's been feeling like my partner is just a roommate. And I can't tell if the apathy is real and a red flag, or if the codeine is doing something to me.

Sorry for the ramble, just stressing and can't write this anywhere else.

Day 5 clean from opioids

Today is day 5. Woke up with a dry cough per usual. Last night was rough. Im at the point right now, im just literally pissed off and if opioids had a face I would punch it. Yesterday afternoon, early evening, I felt a little better. Got up and was able to do some laundry and housework without feeling like I was absolutely going to die. Felt like I was turning a page. Nope..went to bed, stayed up coughing, tossing and turning, and the restlessness was at an all time high. Woke up this morning absolutely tired, diarrhea full swing, body pain. One of the first signs of withdrawal for me is watery eyes and that actually started AGAIN last night. Like what the actual hell? Im feeling pretty defeated at this point. Just a rant I suppose.

If you get through precipitated withdrawal do you go into PAWS?

I’ve read a lot about precipitated withdrawal but not so much about what happens after it’s done. Do you go into paws if you get past precipitated withdrawal? Any insight would be really nice.

What’s your take on adrenaline junkies?

I just saw the FLY Natgeo documentary, about BASE and wingsuit jumpers, and as an drug addict myself I saw so much parallels. The thing that made me wonder the most, is how can so many people cheer these guys up when some say things like: “they wanna die jumping”, “it’s all they have in their life’s”, “they would go on doing it no matter what”, and stuff like that, how so many people say they’re selfish, even sometime risking innocent people.

I mean idk, I was watching Berserk as well (lol) and I was thinking about this reckless behavior people that are depressed, or don’t find a reason to keep living have, yk like this things a lot of addicts do, and this sport gave me the same vibes. I can see how some kinds of addictions are rooted in adrenaline addiction, like going on benders. Still, as they’re not drugs the object of addiction, some part of me kinda wanted to argue in favor of their freedom of doing what makes them happy.

Whatever, I was just wandering how may other addicts perceive it…
