It is not a problem if you replace the sacrificial anode at intervals recommended by the manufacturer and do an annual tank flush.
This is just a maintenance problem.

I'm down in the deep SE and haven't caught that, but a G# drone on a loop sounds like a truck scale calibrating or some industrial pump cycling. The rhythmic on/off makes me think it's not a transformer, those usually have a steadier whine
Driving around at 3am with the window down trying to triangulate a mystery hum is a special kind of Calgary quest, good luck

This used to happen to me fairly often, i called rogers and asked and they said, if you pick up the call when its a scammer they can then piggyback your account and make calls through your number ,, so to speak.
If that makes any sense, I probably butchered the description but its something like that. I just dont answer calls that I dont know anymore.
That was a few years ago when I called rogers, tech grows so fast who knows where its at these days. Just dont interact with anything that feels like a scum

Tanks very often last way longer than that, and that is especially true if you do regular maintenance. That means two things:
I'm curious. Did you do these two things? Very few people do, although it is really easy and low cost.
Many plumbing companies take advantage of ignorance and recommend replacement when it is not necessary. It's a racket, and it's wasteful.

Same advert repeated six or more times during a NF movie. Same gambling advertisement repeated six or more times during a NF show. Advert shows woman betting on baseball game and winning using a smart phone inside what looks like a sports bar. High fives all around. Over and over with no ability to skip advert.

.....there is a school of thought out there that the oct 19th referendum is just noise
.....the important date for the UCP is really the November 2nd boundary commission report.

I’m in this ward as well and I’m pretty sure that’s exactly what they did vote for

Take some comfort in the knowledge that the population density in those areas is also very low. It's a lot of noise from a few people.
Which does not mean you shouldn't take this referendum seriously. You absolutely should. Even if they lose, the percentage they get will do proportional damage.

I went to university in a different city and never changed my number when I moved back to Calgary, so the first 3 digits of my phone number (after the area code) are consistent with numbers from where I went to uni. I always know when a scammer is calling me because there is literally no other reason for me to be getting a call from a number located in an area where I no longer know anyone and haven’t lived or done any kind of business in over a decade. It’s great. I’m never changing to a local number for that exact reason

It's beyond out of control. I don't gamble. I've never gambled and I'm not interested. Yet I'm inundated with gambling ads everywhere all day long all over Calgary. It's disgusting.
On 10+ billboards when I drive to and from work. On benches and signs in my neighborhood. On the ads on my phone and websites I visit. On the radio every commerical break when I drive to work. In YouTube ads when I'm watching news videos. In a flyer that came in the mail.
And when I leave work and think about the absolutely astounding increase in patients gambling addictions I've seen in the past few years and how horrific the mental and physical health outcomes are for them.
I can't imagine resisting gambling if you had a problem when all day you're bombarded by ads.

garlic sauce, pickles, pomegranate molasses, fried onions (no one usually has those though), and pickled turnips, and the meat.
I know a lot of folks like theirs loaded with tahini, tzatziki, garlic, hummus, and basically every veggie imaginable, but I feel like thats more of a westernized shawarma thing. I like it too (love Jimmy’s donairs with sweet sauce) but lately been craving the more traditional version.

So I don't work out, but I know I'm not bothered by the use of the different unit systems (SI and imperial)
I am bothered when different unit systems AND different physical measurements. (Eg 15 g to 8 fluid ounces).

Sometimes they aren’t ‘outdoor’ cats but ones who have ran out a door or escaped.
I’m all about keeping cats inside, but these posts aren’t necessarily looking for their lost ‘outdoor’ cat.

Post on neighbourhood Facebook page, as well as YYC pets. It might help the owners find him/her.

This year’s Globalfest: 15 years in a row I have attended. I am not returning. Atrocious planning for egress, concrete everywhere, I saw at least one abusive security guard who was physical with a girl trying to leave (I have never seen anyone get physical with a patron in previous years), the parking was awful trying to go home…the Globalfest experience is gone

Nevermind Europe! You only have to go as far as Edmonton. They’re doing massive LRT expansions and we’re sitting here bickering about it.
