Dedicated touchscreens and I don’t mix well. I always fat finger buttons and letters while typing. The retractable keyboard is an underhyped feature and I’m here for it. Makes typing much easier.

hi all, I was told to post here for an assist with my printer. i use the cheap cartridges off amazon and usually they work but my printer just stopped printing and keeps giving me the same notification. pic related

Toner was swapped out and now it does this, tried with old toner and still did the same thing, any ideas?

My C7020DN sat unused for approx 5 months. For 3 weeks around Easter, mice had access to the lower paper tray. The gears are now making a very loud banging/grinding noise, and there’s banding on the colours spaced 52mm apart.

Xerox support want £749 ex vat to diagnose the issue (no repairs or handling fees). I’m hoping Reddit and perseverance can help me save it from a trip to the dump, because I’m self employed, use it for work, and can’t afford to replace it.

I need a printer to do old maps, like the pics, clear enough to sell online.

The files I have are high detail, city and country names for example are clear, and I need to maintain that clarity in print.

90% of the prints will be at 16x24 or 24x 36. Until Im established it'll probably only be 30 prints per week. Roll media is fine. Budget is abt $1000-$2000.

Wifi is not critical, I can hardwire it. Weight and size is not a factor.

I understand $/ml but in the beginning trading a couple more dollars for ink to get a better quality printer is worth it. Can upgrade as time goes on.

i dont really have another picture from before for reference but ive tried cleaning twice, deep cleaning, aligning toners, cleaning drum and nothing really works, should i try an ink discharge? printer is canon g2060 series

I used to think thermal paper was all pretty much the same, but I’ve noticed some rolls print noticeably darker and sharper than others, even with the same printer.

Apparently, the coating and thermal sensitivity of the paper can make a pretty big difference.But printer speed, density settings, and a dirty printhead can cause similar issues too, so I guess it’s not always the paper.

Storage seems to matter as well, especially heat and humidity.

Just curious what everyone else has experienced. What’s the most common issue you get with thermal paper — light printing, fading, curling, or feeding problems?

There's an old HP 3020 my father found in storage, it's not functional kinda it turns on but the lcd is pretty faded can't read anything so I can't even understand what's wrong with it.

So well my question is what should I do with it?

We don't really need it so should I just scrap it? Or are the parts in it valuable? Please give some suggestions thanks.

Hi i've been fixing mg printer for a while I've done deep cleaning and cleaning in the settings of my printer while it became less more streaky it stil have some streaks when i print

Today my inkjet plus 4100 (I know it’s not a superb printer) has been acting up and only spitting out blank pages when I try to print something, even diagnostics pages, I’ve already tried all the troubleshooting in the app, and cartridge has nearly full ink. I never had this problem before, is there any fix?

Hi ! I just bought a used Brother MCF L8900cdw for 120$ (cad). I'm a student, so that was quite a splurge for me.

Unfortunately, when i got home and tested it, I realized that there are big horizontal streaks on everything I print.

I tried cleaning the drums and the corona wires, but nothing changed. I don't see any scratch or anything weird on the drums.

When I clean the drums, the first printed page is fine, but the streaks come back after the second page.

The streaks are spaced by 94mm, which is the circumference of the drums, according to the manual.

Any ideas of what I could try?

I don't mind having to disassemble stuff. The drum unit and the toner cartridge are worth more than what I paid for the printer, so I'm really desperate 😩 The toner cartridges are full, so it would also seem like a big waste to replace them. :/

I have a brand new HP Laserjet M209, I got it like last month, I have printed a grand total of 3 pages on it, and it refuses to feed properly. I put a clean, squared up stack in it's paper tray, I have the sliders set, I have everything right. I try to print a 3 page document, and it runs but it won't grab the paper. I have to shove it in if it will take it (and it often doesn't) it won't print the entire page, instead getting cutoff. As far as I can tell, there's nothing wrong with it. I don't know if there's any error codes because it won't grab the paper to tell me, but it doesn't look or sound like something's wrong. It hasn't been out of the box long enough to need cleaning. How do I get this thing to feed properly?

Edit: Upon further inspection (taking off the bottom) the grey paper roller that I presume is there to feed the paper wasn't rolling. I am unsure if this was because it sensed there was no paper in there or what, but it might just not be functional

Just got one of these Nelko label printers to replace my old printer for ebay labels and I successfully printed 1 label and now it just does this every time. Anybody else use one of these and have any idea how to get it to cooperate?

Now it has been a long time since I posted here but I did in fact fix the printing.

As you can see I printed a copy of my VERY VERY VERY VERY VERY cool and epic Samsung and there are only green horizontal lines left. How can I fix it?

I succeeded in adding the printer to my network - eventually - using the HP app on my phone. But on pc, Windows recognises it but can't find drivers. The HP app on pc just says "update Windows" (there are no outstanding updates), or contact HP Support. The HP site pushes one towards the app (no help) and I never even managed to get the chatbot to understand what I wanted.

So to all you wizards out there: Is there a non-HP site where I can find the drivers; and what files do I need?

Hello, i am looking for a good printer that isnt too big. I ve been reading about how brother is a good printer especially the laser ones.

I m in college and look to use it around 2-3 pages per week, if it works well maybe more.

Could someone recommend one that is good value and isnt too big please. I just want the printer, no scan.

Also i will deffinitevely get it second hand so dont worry about that.

It started after I replaced my encoder disk. Afterwards this was the output. Some areas of the print are cut/printed over. There are also white lines ehen printing with color. I tried cleaning, power cleaning and alignment. How can I fix this?

I’ve added more ink along with resetting and tried the deep cleaning cycle, any ideas or alternatives?

I am curious how somebody would accomplish something like this and what sort of program or hacking takes place for this to be possible. Could this be combined with a live transcription? What sort of requirements would the printer itself need to meet for this to be possible? I am not at all versed in the printer sphere and any advice or a point in the right direction would be greatly appreciated!

I need a new printer for my family. We've had a Dell 1660w for (just checked my emails) 12 years that has been awesome. I've been buying cheap 3rd party toner for it and it's been doing everything we need. I've put up with its quirks and been happy. I think it's finally dying. I'm getting a message about the fuser failing to reach temperature. I'm sad, but I think it's finally time.

I need a color printer to print all the random stuff we have to print. My kids want a coloring page, my relative needs his resume printed, we're mailing envelopes for an event and want to print addresses on them, etc. We also homeschool, so we print quite a bit of school stuff. Oh, and I had one time where I needed to print some iron on transfers. I know you can't do that with laser, so we had to go somewhere else.

I've had a color laser printer for 12 years and I've loved it. I know everyone says to get a color laser printer (well, people really say to get B/W laser, but I need color), but... those tank printers seem cool. I've loved my Dell printer, but the color images have always looked a little washed out. I've printed Christmas letters with a collage of pictures on the back and they look... fine. I want them to pop a little more. If it looks good, I might even print some pictures of fancy glossy paper! Although I just looked at Snapfish, and it's probably better to just stick with a real photo printer.

I also read somewhere that inkjet printers end up with washed out colors if you use normal printer paper. It bleeds in through the fibers or something? More then likely I'm just going to keep getting giant boxes of reams of paper from Costco. Unless it's just as cheap to get inkjet paper somewhere else?

So ya, part of me wants to try inkjet to get more poppy colors. But maybe I'll get what I'm looking for with a printer that's not 12 years old and failing?

Are there any models you are currently looking at?

Costco has an Epson EcoTank ET-3958 I've been looking at. The brother Inkvestment seems fine. Maybe the Cannon tanks? Honestly, I don't really care that much.

Haven't done any looking at color laser, but I'm open to it.

• Pages per minute: Don't really care so long as it's not horrible. Our 1660w was fine.
• Page size: I definitely need to be able to feed envelopes in. But how cool would it be if I could print on 11x17! My kids could make cool book things. For a reasonable increase in price, up to 11x17. Otherwise 8.5x11 is fine.
• Device printing from: PC and Android. I can setup a CUPS server if needed to bridge to the Android though.
• Connection type: Ethernet would be great. I've had tons of wifi issues with my old printer.

Hello! My Dell printer started making this really weird grinding type noise when printing yesterday - and now pages are printing oddly. The fonts and colors are striped. All the consumable components are new (toner, fuser, and drums). There’s just the transfer unit / belt that I didn’t replace because it was working fine. Any thoughts on what’s generating this noise? TYIA!

Cutting right to the chase, The printer appears to connect to the WiFi but doesn’t seem be able to connect or be “seen” (it doesn’t have bluetooth it connects to everything via internet) by computers or phones I’ve tried turning off and on the computer and printer, removing the printer from the print queue on the computer, resetting the WiFi settings on the printer, tried to download new drivers to install them but I can’t connect to the printer to install them. Does anybody have ideas or suggestions? Thanks !
