I’ve been hunting for ram for a while now

And I managed to snatch a used pair at a very affordable price.

It is a pair of XPG Lancer 6000mHz CL30 at $220 total.

It seems to be from the same pc store judging by the warranty stickers.

I boot up and the EXPO profile is shown but I haven’t done extensive test yet.

What I’ve been curious about is the fact that

- Serial code is not sequential
- The PCB has different color (I’m not quite sure about this, it could be from wear but why does one have more wear than its fair)

Let’s put aside for a moment whether DLSS 5 is good or bad. If, in the future, games start relying heavily on it, do we actually have the hardware to run it properly?

If current GPUs can’t run it well, then why release the technology now? And if the hardware already exists, why aren’t we seeing more testing on what GPUs can actually handle it properly?

It makes me wonder if there’s something else going on. Maybe they want people to believe that DLSS 5 is necessary and slowly make it harder to get good performance without expensive new hardware.

What also worries me is the cost of current hardware. GPUs, VRAM, RAM, storage, and other PC components keep getting more and more expensive. It’s already becoming harder for the average person to build or upgrade a good gaming PC.

It makes me think about the whole “we own nothing but still have to be happy” idea. Hardware keeps getting more expensive while companies are also pushing services and subscription-based models.

So where does this eventually lead? If people can’t afford powerful hardware, will cloud gaming become the easier option? Instead of buying a GPU and owning the hardware, we could end up paying a monthly subscription just to access the performance we need.

And if people can’t afford those GPUs, what happens next? Do we eventually get pushed toward cloud gaming and monthly subscriptions instead of owning the hardware ourselves?

Hi Reddit, I ran into an issue yesterday (September 3rd). I used DLCompare to look for a cheap key for Tomb Raider (2013) for Steam and noticed it was cheaper on Difmark, priced at around €2.19. I used Google Pay to make the purchase from a seller who I won't name out of respect, though they do hold a "Legendary" rank on the platform.

The key turned out to be duplicated and completely useless. I reached out via chat and opened a ticket to contact the administration. However, I only received an automated response from the seller asking me to open a ticket and attach the necessary screenshots. Fortunately, I recorded a video using OBS clearly showing the activation process failing and the license not being added to my account. I shared this video as a downloadable .mp4 file, a .gif, and also provided a Google Drive link.

It has been 24 hours now, so I opened a case with the seller requesting a full refund. I would really appreciate some advice on how (and if) I can get my money back or receive a replacement key. This is the last time I use a grey market website, next time, I'll use IsThereAnyDeal, as I discovered that their listed websites are legal and trustworthy. Thanks in advance!

Here is a cyberpunk comparison between off, 1 pass dlss 5, 2 passes dlss5 (two mods at the same time), max settings with pathtracing fps with 2x framegen: off 150 fps, 1 pass 95 fps, 2 passes 70 fps. Already played 6 hours with 2 passes. Better quality jump then pasth tracing. Rtx 4080, 1440p, dlss quality ray recunstruction. Anyother with simmilar experiences?

So I want to buy a pc with either a 5070ti or 5080 and I need help picking out some parts, I don’t really have a budget but the cheaper the better. I also want this PC to look good with a H-6 flow Mid Tower case.

So yesterday I bought a used motherboard Asus ROG Strix b650 a gaming wifi to replace my MSI pro b650m e ddr5. On first few boots it kept showing ACPI BIOS ERROR ive tried everything from rebooting, bios update, replacing the CMOS battery, etc. nothing seems to work now I was at my wits end and stopped. Today I opened it again and it works for some reason? But my wifi didn't work and such so I restarted it planning to go into windows installation media then the error popped up again and it won't go away. Any idea how I fixed it last time? Or how it came back? Really want this issue to end since I just wanna use my pc.

Things I've tried: swapping ram sticks, swapping ssds and using different SSD slots, unplugging all USB inside and rear, replacing CMOS, updating bios to 3881 or whatever it was called.

Last night I left it unplugged in disappointment and I contacted the seller hopingnto get a return when it worked? Told them it's no biggie then but after I went out and came back trying to restart it it happens again.

Since updating to the recent NVIDIA drivers, I've been getting a weird intermittent black/dark area on my Windows taskbar.

Sometimes the taskbar suddenly becomes much darker/black and then goes back to normal. It seems to happen mostly during normal desktop usage rather than gaming.

I originally had the issue with the previous recent NVIDIA driver, so I rolled back to an older July driver and the problem disappeared.

Today I installed the new 616.64 Game Ready Driver because I wanted the latest DLSS 5 support, but unfortunately the exact same taskbar issue came back.

My system:

• RTX 5080
• Intel i7-13700K
• Windows 11
• 2560×1440 display

GPU performance itself is completely normal and I don't see artifacts or performance degradation in games.

Has anyone else experienced the taskbar/desktop becoming intermittently dark or black on 616.56/616.64?

At this point I'm considering rolling back to 610.88 again until NVIDIA releases the flickering/darkening fix.

I just received the Gigabyte B550M Aorus Elite Rev 1.3 and I noticed the following things;

1. No CMOS battery

2. Some oily texture yet doesn't stick to my fingers on the back of the board

3. White dots on the mbios chip and another one on top top.

Is this normal? The official seal wasn't there either

The links are Italian, IDK to what extend this is happening outside of Italy, but our company is looking for some decently powered PC's that can fit in small spaces so these would have been perfect, the price was immediately suspicious but the only way we found out what was actually happening was going to the reviews. Of course there is a bunch of 4 and 5 star reviews (not in italian) so they are review bombing the listing too. As far as I know Germany has their own amazon page so why would there be the same number of Germany as Italian reviews otherwise.

I know we live in a scummy world but this is akin to an actual scam. They should be ashamed of themselves.

Marvel Rivals has generally been pretty quick to adopt newer NVIDIA DLSS technology, so I’m less curious about whether it eventually gets DLSS 5 and more about the timing. Rivals is my main competitive game and main game in general, which is why I’m particularly interested in how quickly it might adopt DLSS 5.

Once DLSS 5 actually starts rolling out to games (more than just NBA 2K27), do you think Rivals is the kind of title that would adopt it relatively early, or is it more likely NetEase would wait until the technology is more mature and widely deployed?

Obviously nobody can know for sure yet, but I’m curious what people would expect based on Rivals’ update history, NetEase’s relationship with NVIDIA, and how quickly the game has adopted previous DLSS revisions.

Can someone who played the game on both systems answer - are there noticeable improvements in graphics on PC at 1080p over PS4PRO? I currently only have the console. I really want to squeeze out the most from my first playthrough, so should i postpone it till i have a pc?

Originally was $850 with $82 shipping but I got it to $825 with the $82 shipping instead😎 then tax… made it about $972 after tax. Apparently goes for $1100 brand new though. Did some research and thinking before buying so hopefully I didn’t mess up but I do plan on playing gta, csgo, maybe warzone and some other games and these specs seem ahead of what I really need. Old pc was running a RTX 3060 12gb(personal favorite), RYZEN 5 5600x, 32GB ram, 1tb ssd and WiFi. But yeah, prolly won’t back out now.. I’m done playing my brothers pc and I didn’t feel like part hunting for cheap parts lol. But yeah lmk!

Could be either when I wake the pc up from sleep, or power it on, it is on it own fan head on the mother board. Idk if buying a fan controller from noctua will help, because it might be a power deliver problem. If I let it stuck eventually the motherboard will spike the rpm and go back to normal.

Should I buy a 5060 now or wait?

GPU prices in my country were already pretty inflated, and they've gotten even worse with RAM/SSD prices going up and the general increase in component prices.

I'm kind of in need of an upgrade now, though. My RX 5700 XT died, so I'm currently stuck with a spare RX 580, which unfortunately isn't really enough for newer AAA games.

I play at 1080p, so I've been considering the RTX 5060. I know the 8GB VRAM is a potential concern, and that I'd probably be committing myself to 1080p for the foreseeable future.

The problem is that the alternatives are insanely expensive here:

• RTX 5060 8GB — $415
• RX 9060 XT 16GB — $550
• RTX 5060 Ti 8GB — $530

So the 9060 XT is ~$135 more, while the 5060 Ti 8GB is somehow ~$115 more than the regular 5060. Intel GPUs also aren't available here, so that's unfortunately not an option.

Given these prices, I'm wondering whether I should just bite the bullet and get the 5060, or hold off on buying a GPU for now.

Would an RTX 5060 8GB be enough to keep me happy with AAA games at 1080p for the next few years, or is the 8GB VRAM likely to become a major limitation or will games be more optimized considering the RAM crisis?

When I start my PC, Steam and other applications usually launch automatically. However, now nothing starts. Even when I try to open Steam manually, it doesn't launch. The only application that opens is File Explorer. No other apps seem to be starting.

Now we officially have GTA 6 running with DLSS 5 before GTA 6
