This post just got kicked off the pregnant sub so.. maybe here? Lol. We just had our viability scan today (8weeks) and found out its twins! Fraternal di-di according to the ultrasound person. I have been saying since the very first test that I thought it was twins because my lines were so dark super early, I felt awful pretty much immediately, and my hcg was super high right away. Everyone thought I was crazy.

Boom who's laughing now! Probably still them because I am 5 feet tall and I'm going to look like the blueberry girl from Willy Wonka.

But I digress. We are very excited, mildly alarmed at such a big life change happening, but it's going to be great. That being said if anyone has carried multiples and has advice of questions we should ask the OB or tips on how to survive being a small planet... must haves for registry planning. Anything, I'm all ears 🖤

I’m a first time mom to 13 month old boys and I genuinely love being a twin mom so much! I definitely struggled at the beginning but for the past few months life has been wonderful! I love seeing my boys play, bond, and grow. There is never a dull moment in my home!
On top of that being a mom to twins has changed me for the better. I learned to chill at and roll with the punches. I was a very uptight person before and now as long as we are happy and safe I just let us all vibe.
I often think to myself how dull life would be with just one.
I was in the trenches not that long ago but we turned the corner and life is amazing now. I would take twins again and again and again.

Just a rant really about someone who I thought would have understood the most about how difficult it is having twin toddlers. FYI I love my mum to bits and she is an amazing grandma to my twin boys, she just said something I didn’t expect and it rattled me up.

Twin toddlers are hard work, my boys are nearly 18 months and it can be chaotic! My husband and I have never really complained to anyone because it’s all we know (they’re our first) , we love our boys but yeah it can be hard work sometimes!!!

We came back from a holiday where funnily enough got speaking to a couple of twin parents and they said it’s hard work and good on us for taking them abroad etc etc. told my mum about this and she came out with this absolute stinker

“But it’s just like having 2 children”

ABSOLUTELY NOT! You’re telling me my sister who has a 5 year old and a 1 year old is the same as having TWO 18 month olds?! There’s a lot of things I can’t do on my own what I wish I could! I can’t take them to soft play on my own because they run in opposite directions, me and my husband team up and he has one and I have the other! Obviously I know it will get better when they get older but I don’t think people realise how difficult it actually is, and whenever I tell people (singleton parents especially one of my friends) how hard it can be they’re all like “ohh yeah my kid is like that” BUT YOU HAVE 1!

I’m not complaining about having my twins, they’re our miracle babies who arrived after a couple of miscarriages. Some people just don’t get it.

as per the title, I just found out I’m pregnant with MoDi twins and all I hear online are horror stories of complications etc… I’m just wondering if anyone had non-complicated pregnancies and deliveries? Those stories would be reassuring to say the least.

I have the opportunity to go to Orlando for a work conference in February and am heavily considering visiting Disney Springs and Disney World since I am extending the time anyways to add a vacation and connect with family. I love chill rides like a It’s a Small World and walking around Epcot. My twins will be 8 or 9 months old at the time, and I would have my husband and maybe 1 additional adult helping with the babies.

If you’ve done Disney with <1 yo twins,
- how old were they and did you regret it?
- what prep, items, or tips helped you most to make the time enjoyable for you and the babies?
- did you stay at a Disney resort or off-site?
- what kind of stroller would you recommend? Your normal heavy duty one used for outings and walks, or something lightweight and minimal?
- if you pumped or nursed, how did it go?

The logical part of me understands it’s not all my fault, especially with di/di twins, but why do I feel so horrible about it? Hormones obviously are playing a role because I feel ridiculous even feeling this way lol especially with how good things have been going. I have worked my butt off this pregnancy to count calories, walk daily (even run!), and lift weights. I’m almost 25 weeks and have gained I think ~30 pounds? Babies look great, BP is normal, etc. I know it’s a screening test also and I need to take the 3 hour one but what a bummer.

Not sure why I’m posting other than to vent. Lol. I’ll be over it in a little bit. Just had to vent to people who may get it 🙁

So I am trying to get more confident about going out with my two girls in their pram alone. They are 7 weeks old. The problem is how to feed them if they both go crazy while out? I am talking about walking with them in the pram, without my car. I bottle feed them, but at home I can tandem feed in a twin z pillow or put one in a bouncer so that she can stay upright if i have to suddenly feed the other one. How do you deal with this when they both need their bottles outside? Also any other tips and tricks for taking them out solo? Thanks 🙏

1. Twin B is measuring almost a week behind twin A...Twin A measured 6w5d and twin B measured 5w6d. Will my twin disappear? Or is this normal early?

2. How do I know if they are MoMo or MoDi twins? Or is it too early to tell?

My two boys were born at 26 weeks. Now they’re 14 months old (actual age) and almost a year old (adjusted age). I am so lost and I feel like a failure. We’ve already switched over to cows milk and that’s been a really easy transition, but I am feeling so guilty that we haven’t transitioned them off of bottles. we also haven’t been able to get rid of their pacifiers. I’ve tried so many different straw cups and it works during the day, but when it comes down to them taking their daily nap or when they go to bed, they will not take a straw cup, and they’ll only go to sleep if I give them a bottle. I worry less about pacifiers I know that’s just gonna suck but I’m just gonna take them away eventually, but I wanna do the transition at a different time so they’re not having to deal with too much change at once. Does anyone have any tips on how to make it work? I’m a first time mom. Also, am I super behind with them still taking a bottle or are there other parents that have struggled with this at a year-old? I just feel like I’m failing as Mom.

I found out couple days ago that I am pregnant with twins. As the days go on I think I am getting more freaked out and panicking. I can’t shake the anxiety off.

I feel like the excitement of my pregnancy has been robbed and I already have mum guilt that I am not happy.

I have a 2.5 yr old and 4 month old twins. They went through the 4 month sleep regression and one of my twins has been sleeping so bad ever since, the last few days he's woken up every hour and a half to 45 mins. And then the other twin who used to be a bad sleeper but know has been giving decent stretches decider to be up wide eyed staring at me from 1:30 to 4:30 no matter what I did to get him back to sleep. My husband and I split the nights but the sleep I get is so bad I'm still dying every day. I am beyond survival mode right now, I have never felt so horrible before. I dread every day now being home with all 3. I used to go out and even though it was hard it helped my mental state a bit but I am so beyond exhausted I can't fathom getting everything packed up and ready to leave and then chasing my toddler around while I double baby wear because that's the only way they will sleep outside the house. The amount of TV my toddler watches now bothers me so much but some days it feels like the only option and I hate that because I'm not the mom I used to be with him. I don't expect it to ever be easy but I hope and pray I don't feel like this for years because I will lose my mind. Just curious how others felt.

My identical girls sleep in the same room but different cribs with a sound machine in between. The last two weeks they have been resisting bedtime. Screaming crying and staying up for like 20-30 minutes. They aren’t mad the whole time, they will make sounds at each other and laugh and then eventually will fall asleep.

Would moving their cribs closer together help or does it add fuel to the fire? No one has tried climbing out yet but would that encourage climbing?

This could be just the age. 22 months and overall pretty whiney with meltdowns and fighting all the time. But they love to comfort each other and I’m curious if they would fall asleep easier.

I am literally going to combust. Between having baby twins and two toddlers, we have no time (or money) to deal with this. I want to die. I'm so tired, so insanely overwhelmed. Someone tell me it'll be okay 😭 😭 😭 Has anyone here dealt with this? And how?

Please all parents tell me how hard it was having twins vs having one, was it super hard and also when nursing if you nursed how hard or easy was it. Please anything helps.

11 months old twins.

Just until now we have been feeding before bedtime our twins. We feed them in the couch and the take them to the crib.

Lately they are not really very happy with the process. so we started putting them in their crib and giving them their night bottle.

It is working. 15-20 minutes and they are finished. We remove the bottle and they go to sleep. we stay with them while they finish

Is this ok? We don’t leave the bottle during the night.

Hello FTM to Di-Di twins I’m 13 wks and 3 days. I’m desperately needing advice! I live an hr to hr and half away from my family and everyone is bugging me on moving back down to be closer to them. I have a steady job where I live and I get paid usually every day at the end of the day( it’s not much but it’s something to help throughout the month).If I end up moving down where my family is I won’t be able to have that extra income coming in and I honestly do not have the best relationship with my mom who is bugging me to move down there and she only wants me, she didn’t say anything about my partner at all. We are living in a camper at the moment but I’m on the housing list waiting to hopefully move into an apartment. It’s just me and my partner and our dogs up where I’m living now and I know I’ll need more support but I do not think it would be the best thing for my mental health. ( my mom doesn’t take her meds like she needs to and we butt heads a lot) my whole family Including my grandpa, aunt and my best friend think I should move. am I in the wrong for not wanting to move down closer to them? Or should I uproot my whole life I built up here and move down there? If I don’t move down I know I’ll make my mom mad she’s already upset that she’s missing out on my dr appointments.

my husband and I are expecting fraternal twin girls in March. I loveee the name Lenora (Leni) for short but husband only likes Leni. Any suggestions on a name to match Leni? Preferably another L name

Do I need to wean? He loves breastfeeding but I’m afraid of going into labor early. I’m 7 weeks and just found out I’m having Di/di twins today.

Hello everyone, as the title says I am 10+5 and I woke up at 0045 to bright red blood draining into the toilet, it was not chunky yet. I went straight to the ER and they didn’t give me any answers, except it may be a threatened miscarriage, it may be a SCH, or I may just be bleeding. I got back at about 3am, and woke up at 9am with darker red blood (maybe older) and some decently sized chunks.

Has anyone else gone through something similar? We saw the babies on the scan this morning and it was hard to get heartbeats because they were so active. baby A has a heartbeat of 150 and baby B with a heartbeat of 162. But I am just so scared. And I don’t have another OB appointment for 26 days.

Any advice would be greatly appreciated!!

I’m a little over 14 weeks and often when I’m laying down I feel a tightening sensation that feels EXACTLY how I remember BH contractions feeling my last pregnancy! I get a little out-of-breath, pressurized feeling, and my uterus just feels rock hard. Is this normal twin pregnancy stuff or should I be worried? Every other pregnancy I didn’t get these until the 3rd trimester.

Picture it: potty training. Two naked toddlers who have mostly figured out how to pee in the potty.

Twin B pauses. Freezes. Screams. Because peeing in the potty is fine, but pooping in the potty is actual torture and will never be attempted in this household. So she has pooped standing up, and a four-inch turd is now dangling from her butt.

I scoop her up (arm's length, like a bomb about to go off) mid-crisis, trying to get her to the potty before it breaks, using the fake-calm Ms Rachel voice that fools no one. Enter Loki, the dog, too aptly named for anyone's good, who has realized there is Poop and it is Available.

He makes his move.

"Down. Down, Loki." (Not calm.)

B is screaming. Twin A is screaming... with laughter. Loki is jumping for his second dinner. And then physics wins: the turd drops. We all scream.

I lunge for a wipe, because I would like to not pick up feces with my bare hands (today).

"LOKI EATED IT!" Twin A screams.

B, still scream-sobbing, still betrayed by her diaper-withholding mother, realizes Loki has developed a taste for poop and is now following her. She flees, understanding boundaries most adults need months of therapy to reach, shrieking:

"SPACE LOKI SPACE!"

A, jumping and cackling like a lunatic. Loki, in hot pursuit of the magical treat-dispensing toddler. Me, not getting paid for this.

None of the potty training books have a chapter on this. The ER is less chaotic than my house.

TL;DR: Kid poops standing up, dog tries to eat it at the source and then chases the toddler for seconds, other twin provides live commentary. I have a medical degree.

Hi! I had 4 singletons all born spontaneously between 40+0 and 40+2. Now I'm having twins and trying to estimate when they'll be born. Everyone in my life seems bent on convincing me they're coming before 36, which worries me. (I am under 35 and have no health issues, so I'm not sure why this is what everyone around me thinks except that they are comparing me to other people they know who had twins.) I'm also trying to figure out best time to take work leave because I dont want to do it too early or too late.

So for people who had singleton(s) first, how long did you go and how did that compare to how long you went with twins? Mine are di/di, don't know the sex.

My twins are five months old and sleeping from 8 PM to 6 AM. When we were two months in, I thought it wouldn’t get easier and couldn’t imagine being happy and enjoying having multiples. I swear everything I saw online about multiples talked about how it never gets better. But I can say it at five months in, I am so happy and couldn’t imagine life with out my twins. If you were in a tough season, hang in there!

so I have struggled with infertility for 3.5 years. I also have had 2 chemical losses very early on. well I did my fertility treatments again and everything looked so good. I had two mature follicles and we triggered and did timed relations. I was convinced I was pregnant with twins but it’s triplets. I was over the moon yesterday (I’m 5w and 5d) when I found out and even said it’s the two we lost and plus one. the reality set in and I couldn’t be less excited now. not for the babies when they are earth side. but the pregnancy itself. I’m terrified it’s going to kill me. I’m terrified of going into labor early. there are just so so many unknowns. twins I was like okay. 3 I am at a loss. I hate that I feel this way because they are my babies but I can’t stop crying and panicking. I had two mature follicles that somehow turned into three. which of course I know the risk but also I just didnt picture this happening. The fertility doctor told us that it’s 3 separate gestational sacs and he found 3 separate yolk sacs. Please please give me your story. Reassure me. I just dont feel like I can do this. I know that selective reduction is an option but I could never bring myself to do that.
