Academics STAT 432 prereq
I wanted to take stat 432 but am currently taking 425, for those who have take 432 before is the 425 prereq necessary or is the class doable without it? Also, do you have any recs for easy stat electives to take with a heavy schedule?

Sports Fuck the bright lights, but spare a "fuck you" for Josh Whitman's new speaker system as well
I live nearly 1.5 miles from campus. Prior to this year, I could faintly hear the louder bits of the gameday audio through my windows at home. I didn't mind that; in fact, I thought it was kind of fun now that I rarely go to games anymore. The new system is significantly louder. This sucks!
Josh Whitman's DIA has always favored blasting out promotions and song clips rather than letting the Marching Illini take center stage. This is bad enough on its own, but the noise level inside the stadium grew to an uncomfortable level over the past several years. When I took my daughter to her first game last year, I was stunned--literally--when Illinois scored for the first time and a fucking howitzer was fired off right in front of our horseshoe seats. (Bring back the NROTC bell!) A couple weeks ago, I drove by the stadium on Kirby with my windows down while the audio system was going and found it to be crazy loud.
I'm done going to Illini Football. Josh Whitman has one move when it comes to the gameday experience: bigger, louder, brighter, more, more, more. No thanks, you money-chasing egomaniac. Illini Hockey forever, and I'll see you all at the non-revs, too.

Shitpost Big light
I do not like the big light. Big light like sun is ok because it make gravity and we food because sun. Sun also no flashy flashy except sometime moon go before sun but dat flash slow rare. Moon also ok because moon has cheese. Big orange rectangle could power whole data center. Data center good. Palantir could build a b2 with the power used for big orange rectangle.
I say we eat the big orange rectangle. If we eat the big orange rectangle the big orange rectangle gone. We can then build data center. With data center students across uiuc can cheat more affectively in stat 100. With big data center my post read better ai make this post read English better

Other School’s response to the extreme heat
I know rules are rules but there should be exceptions. Seeing how the RA just chose to turn a blind eye on all the existing problems and choose to recite the rules without giving any helpful alternatives just makes me feel sad. 😔 Paying more than 1k every month for half a room that’s barely livable for half the time is just ridiculous, and that money doesn’t even include the right to stay in the only air conditioned room for some nights.

New Student Question Chances for Spring Transfer into LAS Economics with a 2.95–3.02 cumulative GPA (Prereqs 100% completed + strong upward trend)?
Hey everyone, looking for realistic thoughts on my chances transferring into LAS Economics for Spring semester.
Stats & Background:
- In-state community college transfer
- Projected cumulative transfer GPA: 2.92 – 3.0 (rough freshman year, but on an upward trend since)
- Will have 65 transferable credits completed upon enrollment (Junior standing)
- Age: 22
Extracurriculars & Work Experience:
- Played professional soccer overseas in a Scandinavian country
- Currently working as a Finance Manager at a BMW dealership
I know the published LAS Economics minimum is a 2.7, but I know how competitive admissions can get. Does an upward trend, non-traditional work experience, and junior standing give me a solid shot at a 2.9–3.0, or is that GPA too risky for Econ?
Would appreciate any insight from current students or past LAS transfers!
Thank you Everyone!
