Lag when scrolling some PDFs (image-heavy?)
I've been seeing this for years, really, and have found threads on this issue on the web, but Edge is still my favourite PDF browser due to speed of opening and browser integration.
Will MS ever resolve this? Is there a workaround?

QUESTION Shortcuts on Edge Homepage Keep Changing
There is a section right under the search bar where you can add shortcuts. I added my own shortcuts there. However, websites that I never added keep appearing as shortcuts continuously. This happens even though I disabled the option to add top/featured sites in the Edge settings. What's worse, these added sites aren't even ones I frequently visit—for instance, it added one of my YouTube searches as a shortcut. I'm honestly thinking of quitting Edge just because of this nonsense. Is there a fix for this?

I made dynamic island for... browsers?
So I've been using my realme phone, and after a recent update it had a feature called Mini capsule, similar to Apple's dynamic island. I got very used to it and used it a lot since I am a heavy music listener... but when I went to my PC... the fact that I had to switch tabs to control my music really frustrated me. I did try to install existing tools but none of them were... that sleek and intuitive.
Since I started to tinker with Antigravity 2.0, I thought "Fine I'll do it myself" and worked on it... initially it started as a basic command that would put an overlay in Vivaldi (since I used to use that) and it worked fine. Then I showed it to my friend and he was like "can you design it... for my PC?" and so began the... journey... I improved it... tested it for 4 platforms in depth...
In the 1.7 update I'm thinking of adding a Study mode where the island will show pomodoros, and also you can blacklist sites so that if you change the tab it'll be blacklisted... it's a work in progress due to lack of time and money as well...
To publish this in Chrome (the biggest market) I need to spend 5 USD, which ain't a big amount depending on where you live... but for someone like me who... made this thing as a hobby... that's a big amount to pay...
So... please check out my work... it is available in the Firefox and Edge stores right now! If you have any feedback or feature requests please let me know, and if you wanna help me publish this in the Chrome store for Janmashtami (Sept 4th), then a small Ko-fi donation would mean the world to me!
If not, at least drop a review or a star on GitHub (or both) to show support!

Edge Progressive Web Apps (PWAs) break when pinned to Win11 Taskbar or macOS Dock
I initially noticed this on my work laptop. We use Google Suite, so many of my productivity tools are web based. As such, I create PWAs within Edge for these so that I can open them up independently of one another. I started noticing that when I pinned these to the Taskbar, the PWA would break and only a new Edge window would open. Then I started noticing the same bug on my MBP M1 when I tried pinning the PWA to the dock.
I don't know where to send consumer feedback to Microsoft about issues like this. Most of their support seems geared towards business users. So I figured I'd start here. Has anyone noticed this? I'm on Edge Version 152.0.4191.53.

I've noticed some bad things lately
I have been using the dev version mainly and also have the standard as a fallback, I'm not sure you can get rid of it without that batch tool but anyways, the windows 11 mica effects are gone from the taskbar, its just all black.
I like to use edge, I think it's stable as it's built into the OS but it has the best support for PWAs that I'm aware of. It's especially useful for things like youtube, it treats it like an app and allows you to have tabs in any PWA which is much better than how other browsers handle it with separate windows.
Has anyone else noticed this? I'm considering going back to chrome just for the gemini integration, which reminds me of the other bad thing - copilot. What the fuck happened? The UI completely changed, it's one voice and I get about 4 vocal interactions with it per day. It's brown...I can't imagine a free version being so limited, so that's why I'm thinking it might be a bug or something.
I'm using a surface pro 11 with a copilot key dedicated on my egregiously expensive snap on keyboard. I know it wasn't a guarantee that I'd be getting unlimited copilot use but that was one of the selling points of the device and there was no mention of subscription, I think that happened after they merged EVERYTHING into 365.
So yeah, just wondering if anyone else has noticed this bullshit or is everyone actually paying to use 365? I just use web version of word in outlook and I'm happy with that but they're probably gonna take that away too.
Makes me think that they really put too much into openai to a degree that actually put a dent in their infinite money pool, because they are really treating the users like shit in a myriad of ways.
just wondering if anyone else is having a similar experience?

Delay in getting OTP from edge extension
We are using edge authenticator OTP to login in one on prem hosted URL. We have installed extension in users machine but when we click on extension to get OTP is takes approx 15 minutes to give otp and no other extension is also installed. Some users are able to get OTP in seconds. We have reinstalled, reconfigured edge in user machine but nothing works. What else should we check in this?

BUG Severe stutter on iOS Mobile app since last update
Hi Guys, has anyone noticed a severe stutter when scrolling or going through any menus in the app on iOS or iPadOS ? version 152.0.4191.53 came out a few days ago on the app store. Since this update it's completely unusable on my iPad 11 inch 4th gen and iPhone 14 both have exactly the same bad jitter scrolling on any website and it's own UI screens.
iOS version 26.6.1
Re installing the app does not fix or resetting or restoring the iPhone or iPad.
No one seems to be talking about this is it just me?

QUESTION Cannot highlight text, mouse click and drag scrolls instead
I have a problem with Microsoft Edge on my work computer. We have an internal use website/platform to keep track of our clients and our interactions with them. On a client's company page, there are various tables for info, such as a list of contacts of the company and their contact info.
Myself and a few other of my colleagues are unable to highlight text in the tables (such as when highlighting text to copy). What happens instead is when we left click and hold, it "grabs" on the table and when we move up and down, the page scrolls up and down. Kinda acting like a touch screen scroll function? This only happens when clicking on the table. We can highlight text elsewhere on the page and we can't scroll in that manner elsewhere on the page.
Most of my colleagues don't have this issue, they can highlight the text in the table.
I have been granted an exemption to use Chrome for certain things, so I tried with Chrome and I am able to highlight the text, which makes me think this is a browser setting issue specific with Edge.
I can't for the life of me find the setting or the cause of this. I have reset settings to default, forced an update, etc. A google search doesn't seem to turn up anything relevant either.
Does anyone know what the issue/setting could be and how I can disable it?
Hopefully I used the right flair, not certain if I should've used bug.
I have Edge version 152.0.4191.62 (64-bit) Microsoft Widnows 11 Enterprise, version 23H2

EXTENSIONS Puts your own wallpaper behind plain white pages - works in Edge since it is Chromium
Most sites are just a white box. This puts your wallpaper behind the page instead - your own photo, a video, or one of two animated ones built in.
It only steps in when a page is plain white, grey or black. Anything that already has its own design is left alone, and there is a per-site off switch so you can turn it off anywhere you do not want it.
The work went into keeping it readable rather than into the wallpaper. The panels, buttons and boxes turn translucent and blurred over it instead of sitting on top of it, with sliders for blur, tint and how much the wallpaper is dimmed. It works on any site rather than a list of sites, including ones I have never opened.
It is a Chrome Web Store extension and Edge is Chromium, so it installs directly - Edge just asks you to allow extensions from other stores the first time.
https://chromewebstore.google.com/detail/wallpaperify-custom-page/dbdlklbhgonimapnjkkfnloheapaaoia
Free, everything stays on your machine. If it looks wrong on a site you use, there is a report button inside the extension and I will fix it.

EXTENSIONS Edge removed Collections in 149, so I built a free sidebar extension that brings them back and imports your old ones (images and notes included)
I used Edge Collections every day and lost them with the 149 update like everyone else here. The Favorites migration drops the images and the notes, which was most of the point for me, so I built a replacement.
Collections is a side panel extension. Drag links, selected text and images from any page into a named collection, or save the current tab with one click. Reorder, open a collection as a tab group, export to Markdown.
The part this sub cares about: it imports your old Edge collections. If you exported them before they disappeared, Settings reads that file. If you did not, it can read the database Edge left behind in your profile folder, which still has the images the export never had. Paths for Windows, macOS and Linux are on the page below.
Everything works without an account. Optional sign-in syncs across browsers (Chrome, Firefox, Brave; the Edge build gets it in the next update). No ads, no tracking of what you save.
Install and import guide: https://collections.r44j.dev/edge-collections
I am the developer, solo, and this is early. If the import misses something from your old collections I want to know.

EXTENSIONS My new tab is now my personal productivity workspace
Enable HLS to view with audio, or disable this notification
Most of the day is spent in the browser, so having to open another app just to take a quick note can add unnecessary friction.
The goal was to have one place where notes, focus sessions, and productivity tools are always available without leaving the browser.
The extension combines:
* Quick notes with a rich Markdown editor similar to Notion
* Shortcuts and useful links
* Boards for organizing notes
* Website blocking for distracting sites
* Ambient sounds and background noise
* Focus sessions with labels such as work or study
* Detailed statistics to see how time was actually spent
Everything lives inside the new tab, turning it into a personal productivity workspace instead of just an empty page.
Really looking for honest feedback.
What feels useful? What feels unnecessary? What would you change or add?
If you want to try it, here’s the extension:

QUESTION Is there a way to backup/export/import locations in Developer Tools?
I added a few locations in Developer Tools so that I can change my location for some sites. Is there a way to export/import these locations, or add them programmatically with a script? Or are they stored in a file somewhere that I can just replace? It gets a little tedious having to add them back in every time when setting up a new VM. I suppose I could always set up a baseline VM with them added, but curious to see what other options I may have.

BUG Has the 'Microsoft Ryan Online (Natural)' voice changed?
I'm using read aloud a lot, mainly the voice "Microsoft Ryan Online (Natural) - English (United Kingdom)" and I've noticed that it has changed slightly in the last few weeks or so.
The issue is that the "s" sounds often sound overly crisp or as if there were a slight reverb or echo effect or something. It's still usable, but it's annoying.
Has anyone else noticed this? I doubt there's a fix, but if anyone knows one, I'd love to hear it.

FEATURE FEEDBACK Updates
I just got logged out of every site.
All my settings have also been reset.
I have to 'add a search engine' and find some search algorithm with a % etc pure bull, sh, it.
Of course, not the first time that an update does that to me.
Plus that the changes that only make it worse.
I hate copilot, keep it away from my face. Why can I not just access my history with a shortcut, instead of some dropdown sh, it?
I hate these updates so much.
I editted the register, disabled things on Services, renamed the things on update folder, changed permission and inheritance on the update folder etc etc.
How can this cr, ap still update itself??????
I wish all the worse for however decides these updates and forced changes to Microsoft Edge.
Just wanted to get this off my chest, thanks for listening.

Edge on Android has weird UI issue where bottom left corners of some shapes and buttons are cut off or sliced.
Edge on Android has weird UI issue where bottom left corners of some shapes and buttons are cut off or sliced.
It started a few weeks ago and its driving me crazy.
I've tried uninstalling and reinstalling the app and clearing all data. Its not happening on chrome.
Attaching a screenshot from Flagle game where I circled some of the weird rendered corners.
It's happening on other websites as well, I chose this example because you can see this happening multiple times on one page..
Im on Samsung S24+
Anyone facing the same issue? any solutions?
