“Space Jam syndrome” is when an adaptation of popular characters takes on a more “hip” and commercially-minded approach to appeal to younger fans and those unfamiliar with the brand. It becomes a considerable success, but established fans get very annoyed by the changes to the characters, and it arguably hurts the brand in the long run…

The textbook example of Space Jam Syndrome that come to my mind are Batgirl’s Burnside run…

Where can I read the new teen titans comic, the one where jason todd leads them? (New comic reader here!)

After a failed teamup the main character (solidly built white man with density control powers) quits being a supervillain and his black friend (maybe a speedster?) quits the team to support him. The friend still wants to be a supervillain, just in a different group.

The main character wants to reform properly (he gets a job in a bakery) and to find some trousers (his supervillain outfit is skin tight shorts and nothing else). I bring up the trousers because I think it was referenced in the blurb / subtitle.

I just finished reading supergirl woman of tomorrow. I loved it and want to read more supergirl content. Based on my reddit scouring, now I’m going to read New 52 Supergirl and Supergirl Rebirth. Are these the same kara as in the Woman of Tomorrow comic? they’re also on earth prime so are these canonically stories about the same kara, obv taking place before the events of WoT

PS: this is my first time reading comics! i’ve only read manga before this. The recent supergirl movie is what got me interested the DC universe!

Emotionally led on by Carol, left at the alter by her for Hal, succumbed to Sorrow, became the Sorrow Lantern, got a kickass design, and found redemption in the light of jumpstarting the emotional spectrum. Hopefully, he’s in DC heaven with a bad bih who loves him.

Still newish to art and drawing in general, with lanterns goin on this felt like a good time to draw the hero that got me into comics in the first place back in high school when New 52 started and the movie came out. I didnt do to much detail of Hatching like I should have to "hopefully" improve the piece, I'm surprised I even added colors and did line work after the initial sketch anyways.

How exactly do Green Lantern constructs work? For example, if a Lantern creates a machine gun or a high-caliber sniper rifle, would the construct actually function like the real weapon? A 12mm round might be lethal to a human, but it may have little or no effect on an alien with a completely different physiology, durability, or body structure.

Does this mean that a Lantern's constructs are ultimately limited by their knowledge and understanding of the object they're creating? In other words, can a Lantern only construct something that they understand well enough to reproduce its physical function, or does the ring somehow determine and simulate the underlying physics automatically?

I don't know if it's old news, but I noticed that the DC Go! Webtoons (like Jon Kent: this internship is my kryptonite) have become completely free, for those interested in reading them !

Some spoilers for absolute Green Lantern, I suppose.

After catching up on absolute green lantern I find myself liking the general power system and themeing of the Absolute universes version of the lanterns to be more interesting, with the colors being more tied to how one acts and their philosophies on those actions than emotions.

This is not to say that it is better, rather that I feel this... monastic and philosophical take on the Lanterns is much more interesting and resonatory to me.

I don’t see many people acknowledge or even know of DC‘s iteration of Le Fay but it is genuinely so amazing. The full golden armor looking infused into her body and the long horns with a cape evokes “witch-empress”.

Why are they exactly the same designs? Apparently, Green Lantern: First Flight is not part of the New 52 animated universe

Im trying to get a good grasp on how lex and brainiacs dynamic functions when they team up, but idk where to start. Do you guys have any good comics for me to read about it?

Would prefer a brainiac characterization more in line with "superman: brainiac" written by geoff jhons, but honestly if the dynamic between lex and brainiac is interesting enough, i dont really care.

Looking through all DC offers what the people think about lanterns so far? Without spoiling anything, what is the reaction to production and plot lines and even the actors themselves? So just curious because I'm looking for something genuinely good to start watching.

I am new to this and I really don't understand a lot of things that this can do, but I am excited to be able to you know kind of look into some of the other series and characters that I've never have really learned that much about. I used to really like Green lantern comic books and had a pretty big collection. I would say that I was into marvel and DC pretty equally.
