Other Truck driver to project management?
I’m a construction truck driver, also female, and I’ve just recently started applying for assistant project manager roles – I don’t think I’ll get them, but I would really like to get my foot in the door before pursuing my bachelors degree in business/project management.
Is there a way around this so that I’m able to get my feet wet and learn the processes and gain more of an understanding while also going to college for it?
Construction driving has taught me a lot, and it’s taught me that I really enjoy the Construction field – personally, though with the company that I’m with, I don’t enjoy some basics with the company, and have found new strengths that I would like to put into play.
I’ve been driving truck for six years, construction, five of that – I’ve done gravel laying on highway sites, light flagging, and some tractor work as well.
Are there other jobs that I could apply for that might be a lateral move?
