Forgiveness is usually described as something you give another person. It is closer to something you stop paying for.

Innerverse is a monthly discussion in Bahrain where we explore emotional awareness, relationships and modern life through honest conversation. Not a lecture, not therapy, just people thinking out loud together.

This month we are discussing forgiveness, and the parts of it people usually skip:

• What carrying a grudge for long periods actually costs the person carrying it

• What forgiveness genuinely requires, and the difference between forgiving someone and letting them back in

• How to deal with difficult people who have not changed and are not going to

• Why compassion runs out, and the argument that what compassion fatigue is 

• Why forgiving ourselves is usually the harder half

One thing worth saying plainly: nobody at this session will be told they should forgive anyone. Some things do not need forgiving quickly, and some people should not be let back in. That is a legitimate answer and it will be respected.

Come if you are carrying something old and tired of it. Come if there is someone in your life you cannot avoid and have not worked out how to handle. Come equally if you have forgiven something difficult and know how you got there, or you are simply good at being kind to yourself, because the room genuinely needs you and other people want to know how you do it.

Has anyone ever has experience with this shipping company, i ordered from a place that has asyad as their shipping company. In their tracking it says that my order was out for delivery since 24th august but i haven’t received it yet. I don’t know if they’re known to be slow or something happened to my package

I'm 30 now, and this goes back to around 3rd grade. Same era I was playing stuff like Roller Coaster Tycoon and Tomb Raider, but separately from that, my father used to bring home USBs from those random unofficial shops, loaded with a bunch of obscure flash games. Random ones like the "destroy your desktop" game a lot of people probably had at some point.

There was one flash game on there that actually creeped me out as a kid though, and I still think about it. It was a point and click game, opened in the browser (so probably an html file linked to a flash file, not its own program).

It was set in a school with Gulf schoolgirls, you'd click around and interact with them and they'd respond in these off, unsettling ways. The art and voice work were rough, obviously made by amateurs, but honestly that's what made it unnerving. There was also some low quality khaleeji music looping in the background the whole time that gave it a haunting feel.

One scene in particular has stayed with me. Some girls smoking in the bathroom stalls, and the teacher or principal catching them. Not sure why but that part specifically got under my skin as a kid.

I've searched a lot online and found nothing. My guess is this game never had any real presence on the internet, it was probably only ever passed around locally through those shops, so there's no trace of it anywhere online.

If anyone remembers this, or has even a vague memory of something similar, please say something. Even a small detail could help.

Hi everyone, I’m renting an apartment in Bahrain and I need some advice about what I can do in this situation.
I signed the lease on August 20, with the lease officially starting on September 1. However, the apartment was not ready when the lease started.
Today is September 3, and there has still been little/no progress with the cleaning and maintenance.
The problems include:
There is a water leak
The electricity isn’t working
The exhaust fan is broken
Some door knobs are broken
Some doors don’t have door knobs at all
The existing door knobs are very old
The apartment still hasn’t been properly cleaned/finished
I’ve been contacting the landlord/agent about the issues, but I’m concerned because I’m already paying for a property that I can’t properly use.
I’m wondering:
What are my rights as a tenant in Bahrain in this situation?
Can I formally report the landlord/agent if they don’t fix these problems?
Can I request a rent reduction/refund for the days I couldn’t use the apartment?
If they continue refusing/delaying repairs, can I terminate the lease?
If I terminate the lease, can I also cancel the lease registration and my EWA account?
Should I give the landlord a specific deadline in writing before taking further action?
Has anyone in Bahrain dealt with a similar situation, and what did you do?
I have photos/videos of the problems and WhatsApp messages documenting the situation.
I would really appreciate advice from anyone familiar with Bahrain rental law or who has dealt with a similar landlord dispute.

Is Reddit’s negative place or is it just my biased noticing. When I go out everyone seems fine everything seems okay but when I downloaded Reddit it’s people complaining most of the time of job market etc other problems. Irl when I interact with people it’s like these problems never existed no one mentions it.

I wanted to share something that happened to me last year while working for a private business in Bahrain 🇧🇭.

I'm sharing this because I learned A LOT from this experience, and hopefully someone else can avoid making the same mistakes I did.

So basically, I came across a job advertisement from a very well-known and successful shop in Bahrain 🏪. They were looking for a salesperson.

I had experience in creative media 🎨💻, along with some experience in sales and management, so I applied.

Surprisingly, I got an interview the same day 😭.

I went to the shop, had a conversation with the owner, and honestly, the guy seemed pretty nice during the interview 🤝. He asked when I could join, and I told him:

"Immediately." 😭

There were already a few things that made me slightly uncomfortable about joining 🤨, but at the time I wasn't earning anything elsewhere, so I decided to give it a chance.

The initial salary discussion was around BD 200, while he said he would mention BD 350 on the contract based on my qualifications and experience.

He also knew I had creative media skills.

I basically asked:

«"You're expecting me to handle sales + creative work + website management for BD 200?" 😭💀»

He said he'd pay extra for the additional work.

I told him:

"Sure, but I want that written in the contract." 📄

I discussed everything with my family and friends, they told me to go ahead, so I joined.

There were supposed to be three people working there 👥, but one was on vacation 🏖️, leaving just me and another employee who had only been there for around three weeks.

Then the madness started 💀.

Within 7 DAYS, I generated BD 7,000+ in sales 💰📈.

At the same time, I was expected to:

🛒 Handle sales

🎨 Create designs

💻 Manage the website

🌐 Redesign the website

📱 Help with creative/social media work

👨‍🏫 Train the other employee

🏪 Basically help keep the shop running

And guess what?

I STILL DIDN'T HAVE MY CONTRACT. 💀

The owner had already asked for my CPR and passport information because he said he wanted to process things through Tamkeen.

Days passed.

Still no contract.

Every time I asked, it was basically:

"Yeah, it'll be ready." "Soon." "We're working on it."

😭😭😭

Meanwhile, I was actually working.

I created multiple designs 🎨, completed a whole website redesign 💻, generated BD 7,000+ in sales in one week 💰, and even helped teach the other employee.

At one point, I was basically running the shop while the owner wasn't there 💀.

I had specifically told him he should come to the shop for a few days to check on things and see our performance.

Instead, he mostly left everything to us.

Then, after around 7 days, the owner comes to me and says:

«"You're too expensive for me."»

😭😭😭

And apparently:

«"You weren't loyal to the job properly."»

💀💀💀

BRO WHAT???

What exactly was I supposed to do?? 😭

I had:

💰 BD 7,000+ in sales

🎨 Multiple designs completed

💻 A whole website redesign

🌐 Website management

👨‍🏫 Helped train another employee

🏪 Handled the shop

And somehow...

I'm too expensive AND not suitable. 😭💀

I didn't want to create a massive argument, so I just said:

"Sure, no worries."

He told me he'd compensate me for the 7 days I worked.

But he refused to compensate me for the additional creative and website work I'd done.

So I asked if I could record our conversation regarding the payment.

He agreed. 🎥

During the conversation, I asked him about the additional work.

He basically admitted that yes, I did the work, but said he wasn't going to pay for it because:

"The designs weren't attracting customers."

😭💀

That wasn't even the agreement.

I left peacefully with the recording as evidence. 🤝

Then things got even more interesting... 👀

The owner had given me access to the Gmail, WhatsApp, POS, website and social media accounts, and told me to check and respond to messages/emails if needed.

While checking the Gmail, I found an email to Meta where he was trying to recover the shop's WhatsApp, Instagram and Facebook. He claimed a former employee had stolen the account access.

I was like:

WAIT... WHAT? 😭💀

I obviously can't verify his claim, but it made me wonder if this had happened before.

I also noticed their employees seemed to change every 2–3 months based on their Instagram/Snapchat posts and ads.

I can't say why every employee left, but combined with:

🚩 Frequent employee turnover

🚩 Multiple negative reviews

🚩 Complaints about the owner

🚩 Previous employee complaints

🚩 The Meta email

🚩 And now my own experience

It really started looking like there was a bigger issue with how employees were being treated/managed.

Back to my situation 💀

Since I hadn't been compensated for the additional work, I restricted access to some of the accounts and told him I expected the outstanding payment to be resolved.

He basically responded with:

"I'll file a complaint."

And I was like:

"Yeah, sure, go ahead." 🤣

Because I had documentation and evidence of the work and our conversations.

Eventually, after around two weeks, he paid me for the 7 days I had worked.

But he STILL wasn't paying for the additional work.

I had also created several posts/designs for their Instagram 📱🎨.

Since I had created the artwork myself, I disputed the use of those designs.

Instagram ended up taking down around 10 posts 🚫 and the page was temporarily affected. I'm not exactly sure whether it was suspended or deactivated temporarily.

Eventually, after another couple of weeks, he agreed to compensate me for the additional work 💰 and the account access situation was resolved.

During all of this, the website was still operating and generating sales.

And the excuses were something else 😭.

"My accountant is clearing the amount."

"The accountant is processing it."

"It'll be paid soon."

And I'm sitting there thinking:

Bro... you don't even have an accountant 😭💀

Eventually, everything was sorted out and I got compensated.

After everything was over... I finally did the research I should've done BEFORE joining 🤦‍♂️

I checked the company's reviews.

And...

HOLY SHIT. 💀

There were a LOT of negative reviews.

People were complaining about the owner's behavior 😬.

There were complaints from previous employees 👨‍💼.

Combined with what I'd already seen through the business emails and social media, the red flags were basically screaming:

I just didn't look for them beforehand. 🤦‍♂️😭

What I learned from this 🧠

1️⃣ Research the company BEFORE joining 🔎

Don't just look at how successful the business appears from the outside.

Check:

⭐ Google reviews

📱 Social media

💬 Reddit

👨‍💼 Employee experiences

🗣️ What previous employees are saying

Sometimes the company's public image can be completely different from what happens behind the scenes.

2️⃣ NEVER start working without a proper contract 📄🚩

If they say:

"We'll prepare it later."

"Don't worry, it'll come."

"Just start working for now."

🚩🚩🚩

A contract shouldn't be something you receive after you've already started working.

3️⃣ GET EVERYTHING IN WRITING ✍️

If you're hired for sales but they're also expecting you to:

🎨 Design

💻 Manage websites

📱 Handle social media

📈 Do marketing

👨‍🏫 Train employees

Make sure those responsibilities and the compensation are clearly agreed upon.

Don't rely on:

"Don't worry, I'll pay you extra."

Get it written down. 📄

4️⃣ Don't let "I need the job" override common sense 😭

This was probably my biggest mistake.

I noticed some things that made me uncomfortable, but I ignored them because I needed the income.

Looking back...

I should've listened to that feeling. 🤦‍♂️

5️⃣ When they ask "When can you join?" 👀

My answer now would be:

«"Once I receive and review the contract."»

Even if you're available immediately.

There's absolutely nothing wrong with saying:

"Send me the contract first." 📄

6️⃣ READ THE CONTRACT CAREFULLY 📑

Don't just sign because you're excited to finally get a job 😭.

Check:

💰 Salary

⏰ Working hours

📋 Responsibilities

🕐 Probation period

💵 Overtime

📆 Leave

❌ Termination conditions

➕ Additional compensation

Make sure you actually understand what you're signing.

Anyway, this happened last year, and thankfully everything eventually got resolved 🤝.

I'm not posting this to attack anyone or name the business. I'm just sharing my experience because I genuinely learned a lot from it.

Private companies in Bahrain can absolutely be great places to work 🇧🇭, but you still need to do your own due diligence.

Research the company 🔎

Check the reviews ⭐

Get the contract first 📄

Get agreements in writing ✍️

And if something feels wrong... don't ignore it 🚩

Because sometimes the biggest red flag is the one you convince yourself isn't a red flag.

My original plan was CPISP, but I recently found out I’m no longer eligible because I needed to apply in Grade 11 with at least 97%, so now I’m honestly a bit lost and don’t know what other options I have. Hi! Can somebody with experience please explain to me the difference between KG 2 in a kindergarten Vs KG 2 in a school. So they teach the same things. I'm really worried since I have 2 daughters in a kindergarten doing KG 2. My concern is whether they will be able to transition to a school for Grade 1. I feel like kindergartens are more play based and less academics. I don't want my daughter to repeat KG 2 again in a school.
