I've been making a VR plugin for fun and I decided to try killing Duke today. I can appreciate this game and this boss so much more in VR, it's truly an out of this world experience. I hope this is JMod approved! What boss should I try next? I'm thinking yama.

Jagex should create an official discussion platform on the OSRS website that is tied directly to our Jagex accounts.

Reddit is useful for discussion, but it should not be treated as a primary representation of the OSRS playerbase. When sandwhichladytoesniffer369 comments on a thread and that opinion gets taken seriously by JMods, there is no way to know whether that person even plays the game, how active they are, or whether they have any meaningful experience with the content being discussed.

An official forum tied to Jagex accounts could verify that the people participating are actual players. It could potentially even display things like account age, total level, playtime, or relevant boss/content experience—not to gatekeep opinions, but to provide context.

We also repeatedly see situations where the apparent consensus on [r/2007scape](r/2007scape) is very different from what the broader playerbase ultimately votes for in-game.
Reddit is a community of OSRS players. It is not the OSRS community.

If Jagex wants detailed player feedback outside of polls, that discussion should happen somewhere where the participants are validated.

The amulet of strength gives way too much who even was in charge of this unpolled change

The rule of thumb is +4 strength per max hit. So the amulet of strength gives a ~+2.5 max hit. That is disgustingly broken for a 1k early game item and should be nerfed. In full torva with a sra in max melee, a ammy of strength has a higher max hit than a fury, which is 2.8m item, a berserker necklace, which is 2.9m, and an eternal glory, a 53m item!!!!!

How Jagex thought it would be ok to have an item this op without polling players on it is beyond me and as a result we should protest until multi-account membershit is enabled. Smh $15/m for this nonsense.

The amulets:

while we'd expected they might see some endgame use in very niche scenarios, that niche currently feels a touch too wide for jewellery that's so easy to obtain

How is this not anticipated? There are very few places where elemental spells are a remotely competitive option, does Jagex lack a dps calculator to compare a new item and decide, prior to adding it, whether they consider it a good fit for the game?

Rubium and incendiary cannonballs:

Jagex get shocked by players tick manipulating mining in 2026 somehow, while also getting shocked that the smithing method they add that gives 150xp for a 4 tick action allows players to get 220k+ xp an hour. You don't even need a sophisticated calculator like dps for this one.

Coral:

Farming has only a handful of modifiers that affect the yield, yet somehow Attas seeds improving coral yields by something like 60% is completely overlooked.

FWIW I have no real major issues with any of these changes, but none of these were unforeseeable, or the results of bugs, or an edge case easily overlooked. This all contributes to a concerning overall trend with the game alongside things such as boss mechanic visibility (MK carrion the recent offender) where issues that should be blatantly clear during the dev process get shipped to the live game, something that may have made sense with a 10-15 man team, not the 100 or so that work on OSRS today

We dont want nerfs, we want options, keep the ammy and let it be upgradeable/imbueable to keep its current stats/modifiers, show support @ FALLY WORLD 302, this is the only decent mage variety upgrade we've had in years dont let these heathens take it from us

With occult being 300k or 92 slayer for irons, this requirement would bring the upgraded amulet in line with expectations for a niche upgrade. For mains the cost would be mainly about the price of an Onyx, for irons they'd have to get a chromium ingot (DT2 req, either boss drop or 85 smithing + 40 rune/addy ore and 170k GP) + Onyx.

I think this would be a reasonable prerequisite to preserve the cool new usecases of this amulet for items like Harm Staff, that have been terrible for years, and only yesterday have finally found the tiniest new niche beyond 1 boss they are designed for.

After today I'm convinced 90% of the people who comment on this site don't know what this interface is and how it affects the meta of mage compared to elemental spells and why elemental cant compete.

As long as you let the Killerwatt attack you first, it will never use its range attack. This is only possible because of their jank coding that makes them aggro on click instead of aggro on hit. So the setup is:

1. Click Killerwatt to aggro.
2. Immediately click ground to cancel your own attack.
3. Let Killerwatt hit you once.
4. Killerwatt is now in forever melee mode and won't use range attacks.
5. Enjoy your chill Air Diamond hunt.

Recoils stopped working at 90% of new bosses because 1 flat damage per hit meant 1 extra damage, with suffering = broken.

so why are Thralls still not nerfed into the ground? they do far more harm around balancing shit, hell keep the magic amulets the same but adjust thralls instead. They're the single most busted thing out there, even making it so that they can hit 0s will be a welcomed change vs Thrallscape

I know that's not the word, but I keep hearing it pronounced that way in videos. Bear inspector. I thought maybe the word "baron" or "barren" was the first part but there isn't a monster with that name. That's if it's even a monster, people like to say "I'm doing black demons" when it's a monster, but they say the same thing about skilling, so it could be anything. Bear inspection sounds like a mini game jagex would make.
