The list of courses on the chopping block includes Modern Art of Mexico; Slavery and its Legacies; Race, Law and U.S. Society; History of Money and Corruption; Rhetoric of Cuteness; Banned Books and Novel Ideas; Global Environmental History; American Jewish History and the History of College Football.

Hello everyone!

I’m not looking for rudeness, I’m looking for legitimate ideas.

I’ve lived in Texas for 5 years now. I struggle during the summers. I’m in the Houston area and it is swampy, hot and humid. I have rosacea so it just adds to it all. My kids have eczema that is flared by the heat. Moving is not an option and I want to love where I live, but basic things like cooking in the evenings can make things feel unbearable. The added heat makes my rosacea flare like crazy and it doesn’t calm down. I try to do crockpot or airfryer meals as often as possible, but sometimes I need to cook over a hot stove or use an oven.

Also going out and sweating like crazy isn’t super pleasant. My kids don’t enjoy playing outside, we will go to the park but they very quickly want to go home.

I don’t know. I just need tips and tricks on how to adapt to this heat and live our best lives. I don’t want to feel stuck inside all day.

*Edited to add I moved here to escape a DV relationship and that was my priority and this is where I could move to. So I’m genuinely not looking for rude comments, just ways to make the summer easier.

Our contract with Reliant expired on 8/21, and I did not sign a new contract with them. I signed up with Gexa on 8/23, but Reliant is now charging me an early cancellation fee. I’m not sure why I was charged this fee since my contract had already expired.

I visit a friend that lives in Austin (driving from San Antonio) every now and then and the drive is genuinely such a pain in the ass everytime, 80% of the reason being left lane campers. The speed limit is 70 for most of or I think all of I-35. So why the f are there people doing 70-80 in the left lane thinking they're doing the right thing? The worst part is these people also think they're good drivers because theyre obeying the speed limit in the left lane, in reality they are causing traffic,anger from drivers( which can cause these people to drive with emotion/ drive recklessly around them bc of their frustration)they also cause dangerous passing when people need to pass them on the right when it shouldn't be like that. Not to mention its even worse when youre passing this type of person and someone in the middle lane is also going 70-80, then you need to pass again on another right lane, which can also be dangerous. The WORST part about all of this is when you decide to pass this person thats doing 70-80 you will probably be the one that ends up getting a ticket when a sheriff/dps/ whatever sees you going like 85 or a little higher bc you have to pass them. I know I worded this whole thing terribly but I didn't try to word it well, just wanted to share my thoughts how this shit is still a problem and will probably never go away. Oh well lol.
