Politics Mega Thread (MOD ONLY) POLITICS MEGA THREAD
Welcome to week # of the politics mega-thread! Once again, this will be a free-for-all without censorship. The thread, and our sub, are open to all walks of life. Everyone participating needs to remember that not everyone shares the same opinion, and cussing someone out, censoring different opinions, or being downright disrespectful only weakens your own argument.
While national politics often affect Texans, politics in the mega thread MUST be related to Texas in some way, shape, or form. Unnecessarily bringing up national politics in our state sub without direction creates disagreements, and detracts from the nature of the sub. You must make the relation to Texas CLEAR, or your posting will be removed! Here’s an example; “Federal immigration policy impacts Texas by influencing border security, state resources, and the economy due to its long border with Mexico.”
As a reminder, I am once again stating that POLITICAL POSTS AND COMMENTS DO NOT LEAVE THIS THREAD. The sub rules still apply here.
By posting rule-breaking content, you are disrespecting both the sub, your fellow members, and moderators, and WE, as moderators, reserve the right to take down your content when it violates our rules.
Mega threads will be locked when the next is posted.

Texas Pride Howdy :) Do you like the 4th of July?
Hi 👋 I tried posting this painting in a couple places but no one seems to like it. Maybe my fellow Texans will? It’s a painting I did on the Forth of July parade in Leakey Tx. Let me know what you think :)

Sports I never understood this. Why are people crediting The Rangerettes for being the first Women's Drill Team often?
When it was the Flaming Flashes (Flashes Forever!) that were formed prior to Ms. Davis leaving to Kilgore? Is it due to the Rangerettes being on a more advanced College level than a high school cheerleading team? or some other structure changes that were made?

Original Content I wrote a song about Texas
Hello! A little introduction, I’m a songwriter from the North East of England, and in my early 20s I was in a long distance relationship with a girl from Central Texas, around the Temple / Belton area.
For some time I really considered Texas to be home, a strong part of my identity, and I fell in love with the geography and history of the state. I also fell in love with the music, and songwriters such as Townes Van Zandt. Unfortunately the relationship ended some time ago, but in the time since I became a musician, and have been regularly gigging in my neck of the words here in the north of England.
With my experiences I wrote a song called ‘Leaving Texas’, and it’s about the sadness of leaving the state, but also is a bit of a love letter too. I’m not sure if it’s appropriate to share this hear but I thought a lot of folks would like it so I’m giving it a whirl! Hope y’all enjoy, you can listen via the link below!

Central Texas How did you handle a parent’s estate when nobody in the family lived nearby?
My dad lived outside Austin and I’m the executor, but none of us live in Texas anymore. I can handle some of the paperwork from home, but the house is what keeps causing problems. Every time something needs attention there, it turns into figuring out who can go by or whether I need to book another trip. I’ve already flown down once and I really don’t want this to become a regular thing for the next few months. Anyone handled a Texas estate from another state?

The best Rootbeer you ever would have in your life was the original in Longview.
Rumors were that Sonic Drive In copied the idea of the pull up car hop and push button system from them.
