Because if they took the blame themselves then they wouldn’t be able to hoard unimaginable wealth. It would be horrific for them to have to pay taxes.

Billionaires do not want deal with any negative impacts on obtaining their wealth and accountability on any wrongdoing. Responsibilization is an effective way to scapegoat accountability.

Because they would benefit from the taxes that the billionaires don’t pay. Billionaires get no benefit from society other than the platform that made them billions, and they believe no one else should either. And if that isn’t enough, they all seem to believe they are self made.

The safer oligarchs feel the more certain of their superiority The Aristocrats become.
The more protected from accountability they become, the more confirmation and self-righteousness they accumulate - after all they'd never survive their newest most heinous depravities if they were like we peasants.
So in their eyes NO problems can be them or they'd not be infinitely richer and safer for it, they'd be deader. It MUST be all the not-them who are causing the problems. Like those who don't have healthcare even though they themselves have healthcare on our dime. Or those who don't have rights even though they themselves have all the rights.

ITs them, they just need it not to be so they scapegoat other people. BAsically the economy works really well when the rich have a lot of money... but not so well when they have too much money. Right now they own so much of the money, there isn't enough for anyone else which makes everything kind of not really work good. But that's hard for people to understand, so they blame other people.

Because they are on the exact opposite end of the financial spectrum it’s a distraction. And because these people need society’s assistance they are easily made to look like they take/given something for nothing (freeloaders). This makes the discussion about cost instead of need and definitely no talk about how much multimillion tax breaks the elites receive costs.

They don’t think they should have to pay taxes because they don’t think they’re part of the same society as the rest of us. This is why they don’t really think laws apply to them, and for the most part they’re right about that.
They hate the poor and homeless because they are a manifestation of their fears. They don’t even see them as exploitable cattle, but rather as waste.

Because the bottom 50% of earners pay roughly 3% of the total taxes but receive just over 50% of Federal benefit spending. The bottom 20% receives over $8 for every $1 they pay in taxes.

the top 1% are the ones paying for basically everything this country spends money on. A tax break just means someone is giving less to the government while people on welfare are literally taking money from us. I would rather be surrounded by billionaires than welfare recipients, also the government could function if everyone was a billionaire, can’t function if everyone is on welfare.
