Some states have changed or removed peremptory strikes, which means that attorneys can’t get rid of people without a reason anymore. I think that it has been good change overall in my state because certain groups of people are not automatically excluded from the process.

They probably still are if your state uses voter rolls to find jury candidates

Peremptory strikes should be silly in the modern day, if there is some obvious bias then the judge should be good enough to see it and do it

I did not ever think the intention of that law was to eliminate ethnic or religious minorities (or, heck, women) from ruling on cases where they might disagree with the white men.
