We don't actually have any of those other jurors talking about this, though. Maybe it's just one person who was confused, or maybe they were joking, or maybe she was joking, or maybe she misunderstood and the person actually meant that studying for her role in Legally Blonde was the closest any of them had come to law school.

It's a perfect demonstration as to why hearsay is inadmissible.

probably the "Halo effect"... "She's someone famous, we will give her the role of most import"

I would absolutely 100% vote her as the foreman just for shits and giggles and tell her it was because I loved Legally Blonde

Exactly. I don’t believe this story. I’m sure part of it is true, but something is missing.

It could also just be completely made up...maybe other than certain verifiable/falsifiable facts, like that she served on a jury and was made the foreperson. Or perhaps even including those "facts" - because who's checking, and who'd even believe you or listen to you if you did?

Yeah, this all seems a little too cutesy to be believable. Sure, people are dumb, but these particular people managed to park their cars and stumble into the courthouse, so they're not completely brain dead.

Because they enjoyed a lower tax rate, especially if they were tipped employees? Yeah. That's how economic populism works.
