I'm so new to the MCU please help me 😔😔😔 I just watched Howard The Duck, Secret Invasion and She-Hulk because I heard it's the most essential. Endgame isn't important right? Is Batman part of it?

For those who don’t know, or have been living under a rock, Marvel was planning to make a new MCU Trinity after Endgame to replace Iron Man, Captain America, and Thor. According to a book called “The Reign of Marvel Studios”, the new MCU Trinity they had planned was going to be Spider-Man, Black Panther, and Captain Marvel. Fast forward years later, we have no MCU Trinity now, and a lot of the plans changed due to SO MANY problems behind the scenes. Now it wasn’t just one problem that affected this whole setup. It was MULTIPLE problems that affected all of them INDIVIDUALLY.

Captain Marvel - She was gonna replace Thor as the “overpowered space hero”, but that clearly didn’t happened. For those living under a rock, Carol Danvers was not really a well-received character in the MCU, and both of her movies got a mixed response, especially The Marvels, which was the MCU’s biggest “bomb”.

Spider-Man - He was gonna replace Iron Man as the “Quippy Tech Guy” and the Main Star/Icon, and that clearly didn’t happen because of Sony. It was clear that after that whole fiasco of Sony removing Spidey from the MCU after Far From Home, only to give him back with a new trilogy, Marvel doesn’t want to take risks with a character they don’t have complete control over.

Black Panther - He was going to replace Captain America as the “Avengers leader”, but that didn’t happen because… yeah.

This takes me back to that one set photo of Endgame with Tom Holland, Chadwick Boseman, and Brie Larson, smiling and talking to each other about potentially being the new leads after Endgame. However with all the problems behind the scenes, I don’t think we will see this trio on the same level as Cap, Tony, and Thor. Now we are about to end a saga with no Trinity and no main characters.

My only complaint about this Trinity was T’Challa as the “Avengers leader”. It should’ve been Sam Wilson. He was given the shield and expected to be one of the REAL Avengers leader with Carol. No offense to Chadwick, but even if he were still alive, he would’ve had too much on his plate according to the original BP2 script.

The unofficial trinity of this Saga is Loki, Yelena Belova, and Daredevil: They have the most screen time and most appearances in this saga. As for the MAIN CHARACTER of this saga, it’s Yelena: she was in the saga’s first movie, and she will be in the last.

If the next saga is going to be focused on Mutants, which it most likely will, Marvel need to play it safe and make the new Trinity all X-Men Characters: Wolverine (Icon), Cyclops (Group Leader), and Storm (Overpowered hero).

This will be a topic that will be discussed in a whole Multiverse saga retrospective that I am currently making, but I want to share this topic in depth first.

Setting the MCU reboot in the late 1960s—and dressing the heroes in bold, 100% comic-accurate Silver Age suits like Tony’s classic red-and-gold armor and Hulk’s iconic purple shorts—gives Marvel a completely fresh, retro-futuristic identity while honoring Stan Lee and Jack Kirby’s original vision. The Cold War, Gamma testing, and Space Race era naturally ground the core origins of Iron Man, Hulk, Thor, and Captain America in true atomic-age history, ditching modern over-designed nano-tech for a vibrant Mad Men meets classic comics. Even better, letting the timeline naturally progress into the 1970s allows the franchise to organically evolve toward gritty, street-level heroes like Luke Cage and Ghost Rider while diving into darker character arcs like Demon in a Bottle. But that’s just my opinion you could think I’m crazy but I think this would be cool asf.

Do you remember the comic accurate Wolverine we saw in Deadpool & Wolverine? That was Luke Bennett's body with Hugh Jackman's face digitally superimposed over it. He also played Bobby in Dungeons & Dragons Honor Among Thieves. Luke is 149cm tall, maybe 150cm, and I couldn't find out his age or nationality but he is probably british, canadian, or american, and judging by his appearance he looks no older than about 35y. I believe he deserves a chance! We need more short men in prominent roles in cinema, and this is the perfect opportunity!

With Endgame: Encore coming to theaters soon which will undoubtedly make Endgame the highest-grossing movie of all time, how long do you think it will be before Cameron announces a re-release of Avatar or even the entire series in an attempt to 1-up them?

Do we think he'll wait until the 20th anniversary in 2029? Or will he not be able to wait that long?

Think he'll re-release the sequels too?

So Avengers Endgame is being re-released as "Avengers Endgame Encore" with extra scenes and something special to connect it to Avengers Doomsday and I am super excited to see it again especially with all of the extra stuff

And also, Im hoping that it makes over $120 million so that it can overtake Avatar and be number 1, as it should be

What are your thoughts?

What's up? I've been on my MCU re-watch as of late, and watching the older MCU projects is definitely getting me thinkin about the Multiverse Saga. There's no AI used in this whole deal, I'm spending a strong hour or so typing this up.

Lets set a few goals before jumping into this lineup:

1) The "Big Three" should be well established. The Multiverse Saga only stretched 2021-2026/27, that's not a lot of time for full trilogies, BUT some characters do need to be prioritized. My pitch, and as we'll follow in this slate, are Sam Wilson's Captain America, successor to Steve Roger's Cap, Loki, successor to Thor, and Shang Chi, and that's where you'll have to hear me out. This is a less than ideal lineup, but with what the other goals I'm setting in are, this is about the best we got.

2) Set up Doomsday. Basically, characters in the MCU should be in as similar of a position as possible. The important ones at least. The same ideas, big events, and interactions should be similar as well. Naturally though, as I change projects around, plots, characters, etc, things will be a bit different. We'll see how it lines up at the end.

3) Real world circumstances will be exactly the same. Projects planned for release in 2020, pushed to 2021. So as we move through this "Slate," projects will be marked for release in 2020, but will have been delayed to 2021 for their theatrical release as well, as Black Widow was.

4) Final one, the Films should be the only medium to hold critical info for other theatrical releases. The shows will be expansive, shows like Moon Knight and Wonder Man did this well, Daredevil BA isn't doin to bad, and are my idea of what a streaming series should be. Expansive, not exclusive, if that makes any sense. Characters like Wanda and Vision, and Hawkeye will still headline series for the sake of audience draw, but won't be critical for theatrical films that wider audiences are gonna tune into.

Let's get cracking (but not in the hot way, sorry.)

2020:

Mar 2020, Delayed to Feb 2021 - Captain America: Valor | This would be Sam's origin as Captain America. Less of a Good vs Evil story, and more of a story about what it means to be a hero, especially one like Captain America. Sam, Bucky, and John all have VERY different ideas of what it means to be Captain America, and it's shown through how they all deal with an international crisis: The Flag Smashers. This will also be the first big setup in the geo-political side of the MCU. That'll be important later.

May 2020, Delayed to May 2021 - Black Widow | Needs a bit of work in the third act department, but I think could remain mostly the same. Establishes Yelena and Alexi for later projects, continues exploring the geo-political portion of the MCU, even to a lesser extent.

Sep 2020, Delayed to July 2021 - Loki | Loki Season 1, compressed to a film. Haven't watched Loki S1 in a bit, but I believe it's possible. End with the first appearance of Jonathan Majors as He Who Remains, and establishes the basic rules of the Multiverse as it will stand in the Multiverse Saga.,

2021:

May 2021, Delayed to Nov 2021 - Thor: Eternal | Thor and the Guardians of the Galaxy defend earth against the Eternals. Knowing that earth has the most powerful defenders in the universe, Arishem deploys the eternals to earth to "dispose" of said defenders, and allow the birth of a new celestial on earth. Gets the end of the Eternals set up, a better immediate sequel for Thor, and gives a chance to establish the politics and world relations of New Asgard. Again, we'll get back to this.

Sep 2021 - Shang Chi and the Legend of the 10 Rings | Will remain basically the same movie. Shang Chi's theatrical debut, and the post credits scene sets up a direct sequel.

Dec 2021 - Spider-Man: No Way Home | Same thing as Shang Chi. Kept basically the same.

2022:

March 2022 - Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness | Nightmare has overtaken another universe. Using Dreamwalking, he chases America Chavez through the multiverse, believing that her powers will allow him to continue his Nightmare Dimension conquest to other universes. Scarlet Witch, instead of making a massive jump from WandaVision to Evil AF, would be used as a weapon by Nightmare, the same way he's been using magical creatures. This would also be a good chance for marvel to clear up the distinction between Dimensions and Universes.

July 2022 - Black Panther: Wakanda Forever | The final stretch of Marvel expanding their Geo-political environment, with Wakanda and their struggles with being an open nation to the rest of the world. Nearly the same movie that we got.

Dec 2022 - Avengers: Secret Invasion | The ultimate buildup of Phase 4. The Avengers under Sam Wilson's leadership assemble for the first time. Who's on the roster? Captain America, Bucky Barnes, Black Panther (Shuri), Ant Man, Wasp, Shang Chi, Thor, Captain Marvel. 8 Main heroes. Peter Parker has been forgotten, Dr. Strange and Loki are in the multiverse somewhere, but every other headliner is here. The Skrulls are infiltrating world governments everywhere. Including massive nations of Power like Wakanda and New Asgard. Who would be outed as a Skrull? Who knows. What do you think?

2023:

Feb 2023 - Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantummania | Right after the events of Secret Wars, Ant-Man and the Wasp (and co) go to the Quantumrealm. Instead of Kang being destroyed by ants, the crew (which comprises of scientists mostly, by the way. did marvel forget) find a way to galactus Kang's ass to another universe. Basically "He's too powerful, we can't kill him." That's the TL;DR at least. And MODOK should look cooler.

May 2023 - Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3 | No notes. James Gunn has been out of the piocture for a chunk of time, here's his last hurrah on the MCU.

Nov 2023 - Shang Chi 2 | No idea what the subtitle would be here. Shang-Chi's sister has taken over the Ten Rings. With world governments being in a weak spot per the events of Secret Invasion, organizations like the Ten Rings have taken the opportunity to fill the gap for their own power. Madripoor has become a center for tech trafficking, and Shang Chi is looking to take down this empire.

2024:

May 2024 - Loki 2 | Same sitch as Loki Season 1. Find a way to condense the 6 episodes into a film. Loki and Sylvie are on some shit with Victor Timely, and Loki becomes the god of stories. Maybe this would be the best opportunity for Marvel to rectify Jonathan Majors, as this film comes out about a year after the initial trial. ALT ROUTE: Loki has some interaction or something that leads directly to Doom later on.

July 2024 - Deadpool and Wolverine | Same movie. I have a hard time with this one, it's so awesome but makes no damn sense, but at the end of the day, it makes people remember the X-Men exist, obviously important for doomsday.

Sep 2024 - Thor: Love and Thunder | Thor and the Asgardians venture into space to thought Gorr. Just better, this time. Thor ends up adopting Gorrs kid, and does it without the fuckass costume. Post credits scene for Love having a premonition in her dream. After being brought to life by Eternity, some form of it's all-knowing power lives in her conscious. This premonition would set up Dr. Doom.

2025:

Feb 2025 - Captain America: Brave New World | Follow up on the Celestial from Thor: Eternal? Yeah. Follow up on The Incredible Hulk? Yep. Follow up on Captain America films? Eh. Maybe it would be better to eradicate all the hulk-related stuff completely, and focus on Cap dealing with new shit surrounding the Serpent Society. Or have the Serpent Society still bring out the Red Hulk for an explosive finale anyways? Not sure. I just think it could've been done better.

May 2025 - Thunderbolts* | No notes.

July 2025 - Fantastic Four: First Steps | Only want this film to be a little longer, the only blaring issue I have with this movie is the pacing.

2026:

May 2026 - Blade OR Dr. Strange Sequel OR Black Panther Sequel | Highly doubt the most formal, on account of Black Panther 3 being announced for 2028. Doubt Dr. Strange 2, but it all would depend on any part he might play in Doomsday and Secret Wars. Blade would be pretty sick, if Marvel had ball for it.

July 2026 - Spider-Man: Brand New Day | No notes. read on.

Dec 2026 - Avengers Doomsday | Can't Wait! marvel's approach to their projects over the last few films has been really cool, and to me, it feels like their course correction is serving them and their overall quality much better.

Remember, just because you love a property and the characters, art, and world related to it doesn't mean you have to settle for bad entertainment. I'm glad Marvel is giving fans projects that can be appreciated for everything they've got.

What would your movie slate look like for the Multiverse Saga? I'm curious about that.

Ok! So, I watched a bunch of movies and really tried to lay the phone by the side to really experience them. Did not always work out, but I gave my best. And for the most part, I liked them! Very fun to watch, love the characters, especially Tony and Pepper. But I have also a lot of thoughts about them and I feel talky, so here I am. I think it's the best if I just go over the movies and say what I noticed about them in particular without summarizing the plot, because you all know that by now.

The Incredible Hulk (Or, more precise, why I couldn't watch the movie)

So a bit of intro here. Currently, I am sleeping at my aunts house, who lives in Switzerland and has Disney+ (and also really good internet, unlike my grandma in Germany.). I had sort of nothing to do, so I decided to take advantage of the situation and watch the MCU because, why not. After I watched the first Iron Man, I went into the internet to look in what order I ideally should watch. Because Hulk came out first, I searched for that movie, but for some odd reason couldn't find it. Turns out there is some… urg, copyright nonsense and whatnot, and it turns out that movie is just not there on Disney+. Which is a shame and honestly very annoying considering Disney owns most of that stuff, so you should expect that you can actually watch all the stuff it contains.

*sigh*

But ok, whatever. Might explain also why the Hulk has so many appearances in other movies that aren't actually about him. Happens I guess.

Iron man (The first one)

Definitely lives up to his name. Very good movie, tightly paced, love it. Tony is a pretty big Dickhead in the grand scheme of things, doesn't really care about anything (not even his own life at times), until he got a wakeup calling in that cave and decides to get rid of the weapons his firm sold to the terrorists.

One thing I noticed tho was that the terrorists weren't some generic assholes from the Middle East but they actually called themselves “The Ten Rings”. Which is odd, because I am pretty sure the Ten rings are also part of a title of a movie that comes at least 2 Phases later, and those terrorists seemed to have very little to do with what the content of that movie promises. 

Thor (Also the first one)

My least favorite among the ones I watched, mainly because of the beginning. Because, holy hell is Thor a dickhead. Theatralic, goes to war with another Realm just because two thieves of that species appeared, seems to almost actively wanting to go to war because he just loves glorious battle, like, Tony at least had the decency to not try to actively kill other people. Might partially because Gods are always a bit detached from mortality. Also, I am not cringe resistant at all, and holy shit, those goofy ass Half gods are cringe AF at times.

I NEED A HORSE!

After that it becomes a lot better tho.

I will talk about Loki later, promised, because i also have something about him to say in the avengers.

Captain America, the from a timeline perspective seen First avenger.

Generally just solid all around. One thing to note here is how interconnected the movies are even when they are solo ones. Not only do we see Tonys dad, and he plays part in the story, but we also see the Tesseract, which has a connection to the whole Thor mythology and what not. They aren't necessary to understand the plot tho, it just got me a bit confused.

Also, I heard some criticism because the movie overall seems to almost distract itself a bit from the Nazi regime to focus more on red skull and his evilness, which some might interpret as holocaust relativation. I get where that comes from, but I also have to say that the self perception as superior and beyond humanity is sort of not too far off from Nazi propaganda, which presented their own idealized version of the Arier as an Übermensch, and the idea to take the right to kill everyone below them stems also from that, so I think overall it takes the Nazi regime in its brutality and cruelty seriously.

Iron Man 2, aka, the one who got a sequel even before the end of the first phase lmao.

Not as good as the first one, but worth a watch. It does a better Job at establishing Tonys need for admiration, and he is also confronted with his own mortality, something that becomes a big red line throughout those movies. The Villain whiplash had actually kinda a cool personality. Only question I had was why exactly he wanted to blow up Tonys Expo with Hammers weapons, because that feels more like its destroying Hammers reputation than Tonys. Probably the point was to establish Tony as not as unbeatable as he wants to be seen as. Didn't hit as hard overall as a movie, but 

The Avengers (even those you didnt really knew about so far)

I somehow liked this movie more than I wanna admit, because, while it was a good time for me personally, there are also some things I noticed that some people see as sort of the negativer side of marvel.

First of all, the Humor. Of course, all the Marvel films have humor in them, I think there are barely any movies without any humor period. However, specifically in this entry, the humor feels at times less organic and a bit more detrimental to the emotions the scenario by nature should convey, and also they sometimes don't really come as much from the characters as they come from the whole atmosphere the movie wants to convey. The Shield guy from Thor and Iron Man 2, who actually used to be a bit intimidating at times, suddenly becomes a bit of a goober because of his trading cards and dies somewhat undignified because of the humor.

Oh, so that's what it does…

Like, urg.

Some of the jokes way better than others tho. Like the one where catching Loki catches the arrow, looks smugly at it and then it explodes.
Personally tho I think this is more a “Joss Wheadon” problem than a marvel problem overall, because I already looked into Phase 2 and there the humor gets a lot better again in Iron Man 3 and Thor: The Dark World

There is one other thing I wanna talk about tho, and that's Loki and his “Allies”, aka. The Evil Factions that he uses for his purposes. In the first Thor, there are the Frost Giants, and they are essentially just there to build up the Drama between the half gods. They never really act on their own but always react towards whatever Thor and Loki at any given point in time are doing. They never forge their own plans or what not but only defend themselves against Thor's attack at the beginning and then go with Loki to kill Odin (which in itself is a scheme setup by Loki to Kill the leader of the Frost Giants in front of Odin in order to gain his approval.). That's essentially the entire presence of them in the movie. In Avengers, the evil Army is so forgettable in terms of their motivation that I don't even know their name anymore. They often feel just like faceless CGI armies battling so that the heroes have something to fight against. I have heard that the villain side in general tends to be rather underwhelming in the MCU movies at times, and I find that a bit disappointing.

I also somewhat felt like Loki was a bit flattened compared to his depiction in Thor, because I didn't exactly buy the jump from trying to gain his fathers' approval to trying to conquer the earth as if this is what Odin wants his son to do. Thats already something that bothered me about his motivation to kill the Frost Giants at the very end in the first movie.
Overall tho a good movie.

Aaaand there you have it. I am already on my mission to watch Phase two. Overall I really like the MCU and hope that the next movies are able to hold my expectations.

Power levels aren't really discussed in the MCU right?

Wong mentions "Scarlet Witch is a being of unfathomable magic" and the general statement "Avenger level threat" is the closest I can remember.

I think they mention Omega Mutants a couple of times in Xmen '97 - not sure how MCU tied in that show will become - but I dont think they ever mention classification

Do you think they will fall back on that terminology in the future xmen saga?

Don’t get me wrong I love her character and would enjoy to see more of her but after MOM I just don’t see what they could do with her.

Like they can’t just give her a simple redemption and make her rejoin the Avengers after everything she did. There needs to be some sort of atonement.

They can’t make her sacrifice herself again as that is just MOMs ending again.

And they sure as hell can’t make her a villain for a fourth time.

If they bring her back they need a good storyline with impeccable writing after the disservice MOM did to her giving her another villain arc instead of some form of redemption after Wandavison. But honestly I have no idea what they should do just that it needs writing on par with Loki’s redemption arc.

So is it really possible/realistic that T’Challa excels at everything in space? It didn’t bother me the first time I watched it, but I remembered it and was like: “Hold on… this don’t make a lick of sense”. I don’t doubt T’Challa would make a better Star Lord (probably had small combat training in Wakanda as a child that could give him a leg up compared to Quill), but him basically making everything better to me seems crazy now.

Also, would’ve liked to see how Quill’s life was on earth. He looks way better than he was at the beginning of the first GOTG movie.

We had a few better 1v1 fight after but in my opinion not a lot

I find it very strange that there isn't a single scene of Beast in the trailers. If I'm not mistaken, he's the only character from the live from the chairs who doesn't appear in any scenes, and that's quite odd considering he's a much more appealing character than others who do appear, and I could easily imagine him having an impactful line that they could use as background music in a trailer.

Why is that? It could be that they simply didn't find any interesting scenes that included him, but it could also be that all their scenes are too revealing to be used in a trailer, and considering that the last time we saw the character he was with Monica Rambeau in The Marvels, what if the character's scenes are mostly alongside Monica and they don't want to reveal her? Almost everyone had already accepted that she was going to be forgotten, but this absence of the character in the trailers might give hope that she's still present, and perhaps even that story about her being sick could be a motivation for Hank to be with her instead of being present in the fights for the mansion.

edit: It's probably because they haven't finished the CGI yet; I simply forgot about it when I made the post.

We know the comics did it, but we also know that it generated the same problems. Death means nothing. Tony dies in our reality, and a different one—from a reality where all the other Avengers died instead of him—can be pulled into the 616 timeline if RDJ agrees to return. Same thing for Cap, Natasha, and anyone else. Wolverine did the same thing in Deadpool & Wolverine. Let's say Tobey dies in Doomsday—who cares? There are infinite versions of him in the multiverse that did the exact same things as in the Raimi movies where he survived.

The MCU should have used the multiverse like it's depicted in Dragon Ball Super: a finite number of different universes, with every different continuity of superheroes from past movies having its own universe. (Maybe we could even have some standalone heroes sharing a timeline, like the "Raimiverse" with Tobey living in the same universe as Bana's Hulk, Affleck's Daredevil, and Cage's Ghost Rider, as was originally intended).

And the "timelines" shouldn't be random and casual ("I woke up on the wrong side of the bed, so I created a new timeline," like in Loki), but instead the direct result of time travel.

Would you make the subtitle about Loki? Would it be about the team getting together? Would be about the tesseract? Phil Coulson? Just “2012”?

Ready… assemble!

Almost every time I watch this film I fall asleep...and that’s not a good thing. I can’t tell you any reason why this film exists besides just padding out some theatrical releases. It was out of place anyway given that it came out after Infinity War. 

There is a good premise here so far as the story is concerned. But the execution is poor. Without many compelling villains, Ghost emerges as a character that so far as visually and her powers are concerned is pretty cool. But writing, backstory and characterization are lacking. She becomes very forgettable for me. As usual the X-Cons are the best part of the film. Why Marvel hasn’t given them a Special Presentation or something is beyond me. 

Overall this film is just very forgettable. The novelty and creativity of the first movie has sort of been worn out at this point. It doesn’t really push anything further regarding these characters and this corner of the MCU. And with a story that is not that engaging and characters I don’t care about the film overall fails to hold my attention. I feel as though Walton Goggins and Laurence Fishburne are kind of just guest stars and don’t really do anything in the film. Just wasted talent. And some of the comedic beats don’t hit. The best this film gets out of me is a little chuckle here and there. And given that the first film is a comedy and this one is trying to follow in that same pattern...that’s not good. 

At the end of the day, this is among my worst films in the MCU. It sort of feels unnecessary even with what happens in Endgame (which is hilariously contrived). Every time I go back and do these MCU Olympic marathon watch throughs this is one of the films I dread rewatching.

Remember the game Insomniac Spider-Man 2???

In the game, Peter bonds with Venom, and later detaches it. But later we see that there was still some Venom left in him, so Miles and Mr. Negative team up to 'fix' Peter.

So, my theory, what if the same thing happened to Tobey's Spider-Man ? He still has some Venom left in him(unknown to him). So, he has even more enhanced strength and other Venom powers. This is the reason why, you could see he was able to stop the glider from Tom's Spider-Man in No way Home, because he has enhanced strength from Venom.

What do you guys think???
