Ps5 cooler thingie with two fans from AliExpress i found on the street. Took it apart and glued the fans together

My laptop just fell off the pillow of my bed and landed lid first, be honest how screwed am I? Do I need to do anything immediately? Is there hope?

With the new laptops pricings so high due to the high memory cost, I turn to the used market for a new laptop. My first priority is that it needs to be very lightweight. As a result, I look at Thinkpad X1 Carbon, Fujitsu U939, Dynabook, and Panasonic Let's Note.

I decided on a Fujitsu U939 because it is only 800g in weight. Plus I found a great deal for $130USD with 8GB RAM and 256GB SSD. I was amazed by how light it is. I love mine.

My poor gigabyte A16 fell and broke at an airport and the port wore out too, sending it in for a free repair (as I'm on DSA) and I took out my upgrades beforehand, I did tell DSA not to change my SSD or RAM and that i will be checking dmidecode and I'm not too fussed about the OEM SSD, I use it for huge bits of data like games. my main SSD is with me and it has my arch setup on it.

No coding or gaming, normal usage, and looking for decent battery life

my current computer is very slow and getting old, it recently had issues with not being able to charge anymore, and I'm also thinking of switching to linux

• How important is weight and thinness to you? not at all
• Do you have a preferred screen size? If indifferent, put N/A. N/A I don't know enough to have a preferrence
• Are you doing any CAD/video editing/photo editing/gaming? List which programs/games you desire to run. at most I might use freecad or edrawings to look at pieces I've made at work, but usually that gets done on a desktop computer
• If you're gaming, do you have certain games you want to play? At what settings and FPS do you want? stuff like minecraft/vintage story (lightly modded), paradox games, or barotrauma, always the lowest graphics settings and I'm used to about 20fps, anything better than that would be great
• Any specific requirements such as good keyboard, reliable build quality, touch-screen, finger-print reader, optical drive or good input devices (keyboard/touchpad)? so long as it works and doesn't break after a few years, it's fine, maybe have a port for ethernet, usb, if possible hdmi too
• Leave any finishing thoughts here that you may feel are necessary and beneficial to the discussion. also idk if I have to specify but I'd rather use an azerty keyboard

Had to replace my HP victus laptop's motherboard because of camera issue. Technician replaced it and used thermal paste on gpu and and cpu like this. Is it correct?

My work is extremely browser- and multitasking-heavy. I regularly have multiple Chrome tabs and web applications running simultaneously for 8+ hours

My biggest concern is having the computer remain fast and responsive under heavy multitasking without tabs crashing, freezing, or the system slowing down.

I also connect the laptop to an external monitor when working from home so great connectivity is important.

Desired battery life
At least 6 hours would be nice, but battery life is not a major priority because this will primarily be used at home/work near a charger.

Performance is the biggest priority. I would strongly prefer 16GB RAM or more, a modern/recent processor, and an SSD. Good thermal performance is important because my current laptop gets extremely hot during Teams video calls.

Reliable external-monitor connectivity is also important.

Built-in HDMI needed.

I do not need gaming performance, a touchscreen, OLED, or other premium features. I would rather have a fast, well-performing machine than a thin/light or fancy laptop.

I am open to refurbished or previous-generation business laptops if they offer significantly better performance/value for the $500 budget.

I’m a chemical engineering student looking for a lightweight laptop (ideally 2–3.3 lbs) bc of back issues. I need it to prioritize reliably running engineering software, and also handle light/moderate gaming like Minecraft, Roblox, Fortnite. I’d prefer at least 32GB+ RAM, 8+ hours of battery life, budget around $2,000. A 2-in-1/flip design for taking handwritten notes would be a bonus but not needed. I considered ThinkPad (idk what model), Lenovo Yoga 9i, ASUS ROG Flow Z13, and HP OmniBook Flip 14, but idk anything abt laptops n I don’t NEED a monster so I’m open to better or more specific recommendations!

im starting university this september and i was looking for an affordable laptop that will be able to handle multitasking/ multiple tabs open and games such as the sims 4 and genshin impact. also hoping that the laptop i choose will have a decently long lasting battery life and wont have any issues with overheating. i narrowed my choices down to the 2 i mentioned in the title

for context, the refurbished lenovo laptop is £549, making it £80 cheaper than the asus laptop which is selling for £629
additionally the lenovo laptop has copilot + pc whereas the asus zenbook is touchscreen although i dont know if i should consider these to be dealbreakers when choosing a laptop. both are also 14 inches.

Yeah, so my Mom backed out of the original laptop I wanted which was a TUF. One of the two employees she was talking to obviously had no sense of bro code whatsoever or maybe just has zero awareness cause he kept talking about how it could be good for gaming to a mother attending with their kid at a electronics store. The other one meanwhile easily gleaned off the way I talked and looked at him and understood, "yeah I gotchu lil bro" and was probably facepalming internally too.

Anyways, short story aside, is there anything I can do with a Ryzen 5 5600, Radeon, and 16GB of RAM just to get some decent gaming in? I plan on playing Battlefield 1, Warhammer 3, PGR, and a few others. Nothing too extraordinary but Id like to be able to play smoothly on decent graphics.

Damn, last year I got a killer deal during black friday from samsung. I purchased my book pro 5, with all the works, for about $1k. My wife said if she can take my laptop and I can "upgrade." The Acer is $900 and the Mac is $2,000+, It'll be my first self purchased laptop and I'm going into my senior year of highschool. I plan to go to uni and take the laptop with me so I need something durable that'll last.

I bought this laptop in 11 august so it less than a month of use in yesterday My laptop was working fine with no problem. But when i switched mode from igpu to dgpu then restarted. The laptop didn’t give any signal of booting black screen all time no sound of caps lock. only keyboard light and when get hot the fans work.

I tried to
-connect another display by hdmi cable but no signal

-turn on and off 3 times so get in safe mode but nothing

-disconnect cmos battery and main battery and press on button for 2min to hard reset bios still same issue

-turn off then press on button for 1min then connect charger. Nothing

-enter bios by spam f2 key. But nothing happen

-let it on in boot loop for an a hour maybe to solve it. Didn’t solve it.

Also the caps lock and num lock give no signal of work by the light still off even if I press it.

Searched on internet didn’t find anything help.

If you can help me that will be pleasure.

Update: turns out it's from avast antivirus, but i didn't install it, I have no idea how it got here.

I’m a little embarrassed to be asking for help, my laptop keeps making this grindy almost printer-like noise (im hoping its audible in the video, as its quite quiet irl) im wondering if this is actually worrying or if im overthinking things. i recently got my computer fixed in june/july because my fans were absolutely busted, and i feel pathetic due to this, its a lenovo legion which..ive heard a lot of negative things about recently, but i feel incredibly spoiled because my computer is ..pretty weak to say the least, and it was a gift, a really..really expensive gift, and its only been about 2 years since i got it, its still in warranty so i can take it to the repairs if needed but i just want to know if i should be worried or if this just a..really damn scary noise that laptops make..

so the laptop it worked for two days just fine then this happened to me the first time black screen i tried some tips from ia and he turned on after 20min of trying then the second time happened of black screen i couldn't fix it i tried every option on the internet nothing worked ☹️
