The notion that you somehow need to "know the trick" in order to understand the mechanics of yelling inside a shower cabin makes me feel really old right now.

More so just that a kid might not understand it, cos you know... He's a kid.

Most kids his age wouldn't have issues understanding that if you can hear what's going on outside, the outside can hear what's going on inside.

Kid's are (generally) much smarter than this thread gives them credit for.

Reddit does this all the time. They give 6 year olds the mental capacity of 2 year olds, 12 yos/6, and 18/12. It's impossible, especially given the age breakdown of the site, that so few would remember childhood at all.
