Moscow / Murmansk Travel
Hi,
I’m planning a trip to Moscow and Murmansk, however I’m confused on when is the best period to travel for my below interests -
- I’d like to experience the ambience of Christmas lights/ decor and the bust streets in Moscow
- I’d like to experience snowmobiling, reindeer sledding and banana ride in Murmansk - I understand a lot depends on the snow cover. However, I’d like to know your perspective on when you would suggest us to travel to experience this.
It’s also pretty new to us to experience polar nights, would there be total darkness ? Do you have any images where i can see how it looks like?
I was looking at two periods to visit
Preferred period - end of November to dec 1st week (Nov 27-29 Moscow; Dec 1-4 Murmansk)
Or mid December (Dec 12,14 - Moscow; Dec 14-17 Murmansk)
Would love to hear your suggestions and thoughts!
Thankyou so much in advance

Is landing a DevSecOps job in Moscow fintech (T-Bank, etc.) realistic as a foreign engineering grad ?
Hey everyone,
Looking for some honest insight from people working in Russian tech/fintech.
I'm currently an engineering student at ESPRIT in Tunisia, graduating in 2029. It’s a 5-year engineering degree (EUR-ACE / CTI certified, MSc equivalent) with heavy project-based training in software architecture, networking, and systems. My major is Cloud Infrastructure & Cybersecurity Engineering (DevSecOps focus).
My hands-on experience & background:
Internships & Client Work: By graduation, I'll have completed 5 x 1-month internships plus a final 6-month internship. Outside of uni, I freelance building and selling client websites, custom IT solutions, and I built a C++ B2B mini-ERP app for companies following a new financial law in Tunisia.
Self-learning roadmap (next 3 years): Go (Golang), Kubernetes orchestration, IaC (Terraform/OpenTofu), GitOps (ArgoCD), service mesh & runtime security (Cilium/eBPF, Istio), secret management (Vault), and automated CI/CD security gating (SAST/DAST/Trivy).
Language: Starting Russian night classes this month to hit B2 plus technical and conversational level by graduation.
I want to know what the reality in Russia looks like for getting hired full-time after I finish my degree.
My Questions:
Is it realistic? Do banks and Big Tech in Moscow actually sponsor and hire a non-CIS foreign graduate if I speak fluent Russian and the technical skills check out?
What's the hiring process like? How many rounds, and what do they focus on most for infrastructure/security roles?
What is the actual salary? What does the realistic starting pay range look like in Moscow for an early-career DevSecOps engineer?
PS: AI says It can go up to 200.000RUB. I don't know if It's true
Appreciate any answers and advice.
Thanks!

Chery Tiggo 3 in Moscow
HELP …. My wife lives in the Moscow region and bought a 2017 Chery Tiggo 3 automobile. The car has now started giving her trouble. When she tries to accelerate the car will switch to limp mode. She has already been to 3 car services and they can’t diagnose the problem correctly. She is looking for any car service in the Moscow area that is knowledgeable and reputable about these cars.

After the renovation of Leningradskiy Railway Terminal, the demand for automatic lockers has increased almost 3 times. This result was achieved thanks to the introduction of new locker types and a modern digital luggage storage service.
Today at Leningradskiy Railway Terminal:
🔹 More than 780 automatic lockers of four sizes — S, M, L, and XL — are in operation.
🔹 Passengers make more than 740 rentals daily.
🔹 The most in-demand size remains L — accounting for approximately 45% of all rentals.
🔹 The average luggage storage time is 6 hours.
In the video, we explain how to use the service and show the maximum luggage dimensions for each of the four locker sizes 👆
