DOGS Many years ago, my dentist would bring his dog in to help people with dental anxiety.

Sadly, the dentist passed away a few years ago. Puppers no longer visits. But, I know she helped so many with anxiety and fear of the dentist.

Edit: I really didn't expect this to blow up in this way. Just wanted to say it's really great to see all the replies about therapy dogs in different places. I had no idea so many practices did it.

Been having a rough week and a half. My wife messaged me that there was a surprise for me when I got home. I came home to Costco dino nuggies and it totally turned my week around. And she made a volcano no less!!

I feel bad for the dinosaurs but none survived 😋

Wholesome Moments Met on Reddit 6 years ago, celebrating our 4 year anniversary today!

It’s become my inadvertent tradition to post here annually but I thought I’d let the good people here know that my boyfriend and I are still going strong!

Tl;dr on our relationship: he made a post on another sub, I replied to it, he dmed me, we became friends for two years before meeting in person and confessing our feelings for one another and the rest is history!

We started off long distance, I moved to his hometown, we just moved to my hometown about a month and a half ago, we got two cats, and we’ve had a lot of ups and downs but I wouldn’t want to do it with anyone else! Love you to the moon and back u/Eternal_Shitshow 🥰

Good News His cat was mistakenly tossed with an old couch, so this WTOP reporter tracked him down

  • Cats love nothing more than to burrow into a quiet, secluded place for comfort. Sometimes, their chosen small space causes big trouble.
  • That was WTOP reporter Neal Augenstein’s experience this week. After he and his wife, Paula, tossed out some old furniture, they realized one of their cats was missing, launching a search that took him to a Northern Virginia warehouse, trash transfer station and two animal shelters.
  • “Mike is the sweetest cat,” Augenstein said. “He sleeps on my pillow every night.”
  • It all started Sunday, when Augenstein had a junk removal company haul their old living room furniture away.
  • “My wife and I did a quick check under the cushions of one couch that was torn up and that our cats, Mike and Mochi, had climbed and hid in before,” Augenstein said.
  • Monday, the new couches and chair were delivered.
  • “Tuesday, I was kind of surprised that Mike didn’t show up when I fed the cats, and I realized I hadn’t seen him in a while, and Paula hadn’t seen him either,” Augenstein said. “And we got a sinking feeling that maybe Mike was in the couch when it was carted away.”

Wholesome Moments One giant pumpkin cookie, made entirely by a very proud 4 year old chef in training (OC)

Yesterday, my 4 year old daughter and I made pumpkin cookies together and had a great time. Today, we decided to do it again and make some for the extended family.

We picked up some ready to bake pumpkin cookie dough and were going to make them together like we did yesterday.

Before we started, she very seriously declared that she was a big girl and wanted to do everything herself. I said sure, and only thing I did to help was to open the package and lay down the parchment sheet.

I gently reminded her of the steps, showed her the picture on the package so she could see what they were supposed to look like, and walked away.

About 10 minutes later, she came to find me.

“Daddy, I’m done!”

“Awesome! Let’s put them in the oven.”

We walked back to the kitchen table and discovered that instead of dividing the dough into individual cookies like we did yesterday, she had created one absolutely gigantic pumpkin cookie.

I looked at it.

She looked at me.

I said, “Okay. Let’s see what happens.”

And I didn't touch it. No dividing it up, no reshaping it, no adjustments. She made her cookie exactly the way she wanted to, and I was proud of her for doing the whole thing herself.

So into the oven went The Cookie.

The package says 14 to 18 minutes, although I'm fairly certain those instructions assume you aren't baking one enormous unified cookie mass. It ended up being a solid 18 minutes.

Either way, a cookie by any other shape is still a cookie.
