Since moving here, I’ve mainly been going to Sports Clips in Bellevue, but a lot of times the people there are hit and miss, and it’s hard to always guarantee getting the same person every time.

Just looking to get a normal men’s haircut, nothing fancy or special, and also a beard trim (not straight razor, just normal clippers and cleaning it up).

I went to one place when I first moved here in Ballard (Steele Barber), and while it was very nice and he did a great job, it was over $100 plus tax and tip, which is way too pricy for me to pay regularly. I also know that I need to pay at least some decent money for anything better than a crappy “Great Clips” cut, so I’m willing to pay a relatively good amount for a cut, but not $80-100 or more. Maybe something around…$40-60? Idk if that’s too low for Seattle or not.

Wanting to go to this person regularly and establish a rapport, so that I don’t have to try to get “the luck of the draw” when going to a chain like Sports Clips.

I'm visiting in a few days and I'm looking for some sandwich recommendations, any type is welcome. Preferably locally owned!

I’m trying to step into a more outgoing and creative mindset and am looking for weekly events or groups for poetry reading, comedy, improv. Looking for free ways to practice my creativity and build some confidence in doing so! Any thing in the Seattle area is my jam :-)

From the Bay Area where I grew up with good Italian Deli’s. Any good ones in Seattle, where they make homemade sausage and have deli sammies, thanks in advance.

Shift work, so 11am Saturday is the one slot I can never do, and thats when everything seems to run.

- rang two studios directly, both said it depends

Pottery, candle making, anything hands on that genuinely runs tuesday or wednesday evening. Happy to cross town. Does anywhere here actually hold a midweek class or do they all quietly cancel?

I used to go to this chain restaurant back east called Zoup! on my lunch breaks. It was basically just Chipotle for soup and bread rolls and it was awesome, so it does not need to be a "local Seattle gem." I'll eat in strip mall and I'll like it.

Looking for a good tailor to fix/repair a pair of pants I have. Long story short, because of how relatively cheaply made a lot of men’s pants are made, I tend to get blowouts/rips in the middle crotch/thigh area. That happened recently to a pair of pants I really like, and don’t want to just toss them to get a new pair.

Just looking to get the hole sewn up, and also reinforced with another piece of fabric to keep it from happening again.

Anywhere in Seattle works, although I am located between cap hill and pioneer square, if that helps.

Hi all! During an estate cleanup, we were asked to take an incredibly large Penthouse and Playboy magazine collection, mostly 1975-1989 years with a few one-offs. All are in great condition and with centerfolds intact. I was planning to sell the lots on eBay, but it’s taking too much time and am hoping to just sell them as a collection. Does anyone have any recommendations for a spot in Seattle or surrounding areas? They’re cool but I don’t need 5 boxes of them..

I have an Original Prusa i3 MK3S that started having extrusion issues after finishing a roll of ABS and starting a roll of PLA. I would guess the extruder needs to be disassembled to fix a clog or extrusion issue. I already changed the nozzle but the issue appears to be further up the assembly. The extruder motor works at least partially still. It is able to reverse at least. I have not been able to get it to extrude any new filament since finishing off the roll of ABS.

I am physically disabled and I used to have more time with paid assistance, so I was able to work on the printer one or two hours at a time. I used that time to build the printer from the kit originally and I used to do my own repairs the same way. The situation has changed somewhat, so I need to hire someone for the repair to finish in a reasonable amount of time. I use the 3D printer for my own adaptive equipment so it is a high priority for me.

Does anyone have a recommendation for somewhere I can pay to have my 3D printer diagnosed and repaired? I am on a budget but this is basically my most important (nonmedical) possession so I would rather hear expensive options than no options.

I work near Westlake Center, often take the bus but sometimes take the train, so ideally near Westlake or CID/in between.

When I look at my energy usage in my Seattle City Light Portal, the vast majority of my days are just estimated usage. Is this what everyone sees in their account too? We have a smart meter as far as I know so I don't know why so many days should be showing up as estimated usage.

I'm more just curious if I'm actually being billed correctly or if there's something funky going on with my account/meter.

Good afternoon, Seattle! First time visitor from The Golden State, aiming for the first weekend in Oct. I’ll be driving up the coast solo and was looking for hotels in or about 20-30 from the downtown area.

Aiming to stay from thurs-sun/mon depending on prices ($100-$150 a night). This will be my first solo trip and I’ve been wanting to see both Portland and Seattle for years (Pike Place here I come!) and am super excited. Any help will be highly appreciated, thanks much!

I tried being friends with some cool folks near the pier and they seemed a wide range of ages, but wondering if there's any green based events in the city coming up?

I have surgery soon and I cannot wait for this "break" to be over because I have chronic pain. And when it's done I just want friends again and to socialize.

Folks I met near the pier asked me my age more than three times, while flattering, doesn't really help the fact i wish I had friends my own age (31) who don't think current memes are weird.

Longtime lurker, new poster. Considering moving from NYC to the Seattle area with 2 toddlers. We’re in Brooklyn now and love the food, diversity, walkability, and access to great parks. But we want more nature, less intensity/sensory overwhelm, a bit more space. I’m a big snowboarder and want this kids to grow up with access to the mountains.

We’re thinking about what neighborhoods might fit for us. We want good schools, and not just academics. We want schools that prioritize social emotional development and have a focus on play based or experiential learning. Also important to have support for neurodiverse kids.

We’re also looking for a community of parents who share our values. We’re both cycle breaking and working to be connected parents giving our kids a secure attachment in a high nurture high structure home. Very much into Eli Harwood and Seed&Sew/Voices of Your Village. We aren’t super keen on creating a pressure cooker environment for our kids where they feel they need to get straight As from the time they turn 10.

Would love any advice!
