On dating apps, what is the girl version of holding up a fish?
I’m actually really curious about this. Where I live it’s not fish though, it’s skiing or climbing pictures LOL
But yall get the gist right?

I'm a woman and I know that I have internalized the harmful stereotype that men are invincible. What a sad stereotype! I'm trying to change that thought that's in me as I know my husband needs to feel safe before he can feel close to me. I'm curious what makes you feel safe with a woman? What are some things she does to help increase your sense of emotional safety?

hello dear men and people who think they figured men out!
long story short: I (33F) got a first date (30M) and its my first date in forever.
i am a sucker for little gifts and its also one of my love languages which he already knows about. now i would like to bring him smth small, but i dont know what adult men actually like (my last first date was over 10 years ago). he's into cats, anime, cooking, beer, horror, travelling.
could you tell me what you'd like to receive expecially if you share one/some of those interests?

I had a conversation with my friend (mid 30s) about this the other day and he pointed out that he has never received a genuine apology from a woman in his life. A true apology without excusing it away.
Yes this sounds ridiculous at first but looking at my life I can't say I've experienced that either. But I'm just one dude and it's not like these kinda things happen often with men either of course!
It's a rare thing for anyone to take full accountability and it's one of the most respectable things someone can do. So really for my own mental well being I would love to hear examples of when it's happened to you with a woman. (doesn't have to be romantic)
What was that like for you? How did it happen and what was the context?
EDIT: Thank you for all the comments this was a very healing post for me.
I know we’re on Reddit but I wanted to drop this prayer for my brothers:
God, please give us the humility to recognize when we have hurt someone and the courage to take full responsibility without excuses or expecting anything in return. Please bring healing to everyone still waiting for an apology - and if it never comes, help them find peace without it. Amen. 🙏

Curious to ask since ive been stood up on dates and once when it happened the hostess didn't charge me for the drinks I ordered while I waited and told her i was stood up
I mean, when did you go "I guess I'm an adult now"?
For me it was when I got my first paycheck at 19, I remember giving all of it entirely to my mom, she took half and gave me back half. She used what I gave her to do house repairs that were on hold for years, and I bought a bunch of shoes and clothes for myself. I remember thinking "I am a man now".

With the rising prices of oil around the globe, I'm pretty sure there's someone out there paying a crazy amount just commute around their area.
I'm paying ~$120/week to fill my 1.4L Jetta with mid-grade gasoline. Once for the work week and once for the wknd.

I definitely needed to be more confident in myself. I would rely on validation from others to sustain my ego, but it would never last, and the moment it stopped coming in I would fall apart. Genuine confidence has taken some time to achieve, but the difference has been night and day. I feel more comfortable in myself, and I don't find myself falling apart if someone doesn't like me as much as I want them to.
Also... I definitely could've been told to sleep better. I'm much less angry and sad all the time now that I'm getting a good eight hours of sleep every night.

I posted this (https://www.reddit.com/r/AskMen/s/I8lKYunKBp) a month ago. Well, yesterday I broke up with her. It's the hardest thing I've ever done and even though I know it's what I need it hurts so bad because we love each other very much.
Now I'm back at home and my bedroom is full of stuff she gave me. Handwritten cards, flowers, a personalized book, photos... Everything you can imagine. And on top of that my phone gallery is full of images and videos of her.
What are you supposed to do with all that? Despite breaking up, these things are still the biggest love gestures I've ever recieved and I can't throw that away. But at the same time, keeping it feels like refusing to let go and if at some point I get into a new relationship idk if she's gonna be very excited about me keeping my ex's stuff at home.
What did you guys do when you were in a similar position?
PD: Worth mentioning we ended on good terms. She didn't agree with me and wanted to stay together but in the end accepted it and was very mature about it.

I see a lot of posts from guys asking for advice on how to meet women. So here's a thread to share stories of what actually worked for you and how it went down.
(Can be about men, too, if you have a male partner.)
Edit: This is getting more out of control than I can reply to. But go hard as fuck

Most people will deal with some sort of trauma or insecurity. Its hard to talk about, men are generally told were not supposed to complain. I tried therapy for the first time and discovered that I am a people pleaser and conflict avoidant.
My insecurities as an adult are due to my childhood. Poor self esteem due to being bullied for being a fat kid. I just wanted to fit in, which is probably where the people-pleasing comes from. I also became avoidant because by removing myself from the situation made it easier than facing rejection, so it made me feel like I was in control.
Now I can stop, take a breath and keep myself from going down the rabbit hole in my head. I'm not cured, but I can at least lower the volume in my mind.

I’m turning 22 about to graduate but I feel old, yet young at the same time. I look at those around me and genuinely don’t know how to feel. I think 25 years old is when most men feel confident but I don’t know.

Was there anything that majorly affected how you live now that you weren't anticipating? Good or bad.

Looking back, what did you need from your dad that you can identify now? Beyond their presence, what would you have wanted/to know/ to learn? Leading with curiosity not judgement.
