"You're gonna have to answer to the Coca-Cola company"

The reality is weirder than ficition.

306

u/cyanawesome 15h ago

Pepsi probably put the Russians up to it.

227

u/GOEDEL_ESCHER_BOT 15h ago

Begun, the 2nd cola wars have

27

u/Canadian-Man-infj 14h ago

Something, something... new generation.

20

u/Historical-Ad7081 10h ago

"Somehow Pepsi Max returned."

10

u/TortureMonkey 9h ago

Crystal Pepsi looks at you over its horn rimmed glasses.

18

u/Snabelpaprika 11h ago

So Coca-Cola won the franchise wars. Now all sodas are Coca-Cola. Enhance your calm.

2

u/Ultima22 8h ago

Now that's what I call pop racing

2

u/BikerScoutTrooperDad 8h ago

Dammit dammit dammit  dammit dammit  dammit dammit  dammit dammit Knew someone was gonna say this.

May the cola be with you.

u/kristamine14 5h ago

More like “Wake the fuck up Samurai”

23

u/koolaidismything 15h ago

Some lady tried to sell Pepsi Cokes formula and they called the authorities and setup a sting. 🦂

1

u/MATlad 6h ago

That was just dumb--Pepsi is Pepsi.

...You need to try to sell the formula to Coca Cola's foreign distributors and bottlers, the smaller domestic producers bottling for store brands, etc.

18

u/Sothisismylifehuh 14h ago

Pepsi wants the competition, so does Coca Cola. They share the market. It reduces the choice from "Should I get a cola?" To "Should I get a Coca cola or a Pepsi?"

2

u/nicubunu 4h ago

There are so many other colas besides those two.

1

u/Sothisismylifehuh 4h ago

Never said there wasn't.

u/nicubunu 1h ago

So the choice isn't reduced to "Should I get a Coca cola or a Pepsi?"

u/Sothisismylifehuh 58m ago

In 99% of cases, it definitely is.

u/nicubunu 50m ago

That's because you framed the choice wrong, actually never had anyone asking "should I get a cola?" but "should I get a [soft] drink?" or some variation like "soda", "juice"

28

u/HalcyonTraveler 15h ago

I mean Pepsi’s navy is 100% of Russian origin so

7

u/cyanawesome 12h ago

They got to keep that Harrier jet in the end too. Not to be trifled with.

4

u/andy11123 13h ago

I bet Pepsi wish they'd rebuilt their Soviet fleet a bit better

Pepsi navy

2

u/oedipism_for_one 10h ago

Dr. Pepper set up Pepsi. You clearly can’t trust Dr. Pepper they are not even a real doctor.

0

u/sg19point3 7h ago

Did not stop Americans put in not real doctor in charge of public heath

1

u/megselvogjeg 10h ago

Historically they have been friends. Lets not forget who gave Pepsi a navy in the 80s.

1

u/Shot_in_the_dark777 2h ago

No fighting in the war room!

1

u/Sad-Stop-2401 6h ago

Gentlemen, you can not fight in here, this is war room!

13

u/NimrodvanHall 15h ago

Well at one point in time Pepsi had the 6th largest navy in the world.

3

u/Zombyeh 13h ago

Now you got me wondering... Sponsorship advertising is on everything. I wonder why they havent started it on military equipment. USS Metlife Battleship, the M3 Crypto.com tank, maybe a F-47 Viagra, The Pepsi rocket system... that last one doesn't sound scary enough 🤣

2

u/DontRememberOldPass 7h ago

You haven’t seen the mobile Burger King that rolls out of the back of a C-130?

1

u/Zombyeh 6h ago

No i havent seen that before i had to look it up thats crazy

1

u/jokel7557 8h ago

Which is why it’s bullshit they won the Harrier jet law suit.

8

u/MATlad 15h ago

'The syrup must flow.'

16

u/Remmon 15h ago

They wouldn't have tried that shit with PepsiCo, those guys used to own a fleet and if Russia starts shit with them, they might just decide to buy another one to finish off Russia's fleet.

5

u/HalcyonTraveler 15h ago

Those were Russian ships though, if anything they’re natural allies

16

u/redchill101 16h ago

Great,  take the upvote.  It's a well-known but also somewhat obscure reference...but reddit will receive it well.  Well played.

7

u/HumanisticHater 12h ago

It's that Trump has been saying that one of his clever security guarantees is just having more American companies in Ukraine, so Russia does not attack. I feel like everybody forgot about this genius Trump idea he was pushing a year ago during his whole mineral deal plan in the midst of supposed peace talks. What a guy.

2

u/Fantastic_Fox4948 6h ago

You can’t fight in here! This is the War Room!

3

u/neonnaps 3h ago

It's 2035. Your country is at war with the US. As you run through the ruins of your city, you hear the sound of a rocket heading your way. Just as your life flashes for your eyes, the rocket slams in a wall in front of you. A screen pops out and an add starts to play. Your last memory before everything fades to black, is your finger instinctly pushing the "skip add" button.

2

u/Training-Belt-7318 15h ago

If it was a Disney amusement park, the mouse would have putin hanging from the gallows in 48 hours.

1

u/sudoku7 6h ago

Turns out, Coca Cola bought the fleet from Pepsi.

1

u/Environmental_Top948 3h ago

Is this the Coca-Cola wars that "We didn't start the fire" was talking About?

1

u/Few_Management284 16h ago

Just South Park in rl.

9

u/FormalGuard2305 16h ago

Yes but Dr Strangelove

277

u/MrGDPC 14h ago

First they came for my coca-cola and I said nothing because I drank Pepsi

Then they came for my Pepsi and I said nothing because I’d switched to Dr. Pepper

Then they came for my Dr. Pepper and I said nothing because the cost of aluminum tariffs had made drinking canned soda unsustainable

Then they came for my water and I had none because it was all going to the local data center

16

u/drrandolph 10h ago

Coke Zero is fine 🙂. It is my favourite soda.

0

u/Rough_Jaguar_2643 13h ago

I think coke is cigs dissolved in piss hence the colour.

0

u/ColdRainS126 9h ago

calm down guys. let's finish the iran war before you guys move on to the next.

100

u/Mewhomewhy 15h ago

Every expert has said for years that any signs of weakness will embolden them and make a larger war more likely. Trump has done nothing but signal division and weakness.

197

u/NotMyName_3 16h ago

This Administration doesn't care. The Idiot is on Putin's payroll.

32

u/taez555 15h ago

Had it been the diet coke plant, though….

:-)

u/MxSteel8 16h ago edited 16h ago

Trump owns stock in Coca-Cola. It was a clear message from Putin to Trump.

The love bros are going through a messy breakup.

86

u/DigSpelledBackwards 15h ago

he could shoot a rocket at trump and trump would still kiss his ass

21

u/steauengeglase 15h ago

Trump will always go back to holding up a boom box in the rain outside Putin's window.

13

u/Taymyr 14h ago

Trump owns stocks in thousands of companies. Someone once linked stock purchases and there's well over 1,000 tickers.

I get it, Trump bad, but anyone can own Coca-Cola. It's the 24th largest company by market cap and anyone with an investment account can easily buy KO. If you invest in index funds you almost certainly are a shareholder too.

2

u/usddddd 14h ago

Yeah except he owns prob 500k-2MM worth judging by his other allocations so he’s a bit more heavily invested than you or I.

9

u/Taymyr 13h ago

Percentage wise of net investments, it's probably the same as you or I. Again, I don't see why this specifically is a big deal.

He cares about 2 million the same I would care about 200-2,000.

1

u/Chihuahua1 5h ago

Remember coca cola is split in 2 companies,  the Coca-Cola company and   Coca-Cola Europacific Partners.

They merged Australia, Asia and Europe. American continent is its own company

36

u/szjano 15h ago

Well, I see two wrong assumptions here.

First, Trump understands the message (or anything).

Second, Russia can intentionally hit anything.

11

u/folie11 14h ago

Oh, but they're perfectly capable of hitting schools, hospitals, residential buildings..

13

u/JohnHazardWandering 13h ago

Funny how Russia can start aiming their weapons all of a sudden. Was there a kindergarten nearby?

74

u/steve_ample 16h ago

4 days ago, Ukrainian drones damaged a Pepsi factory.

Begun, the Cola Wars has.

19

u/Sea-Violinist-7353 16h ago

Too bad Pepsi got rid of that navy they had.

5

u/Particular-Nose-8932 15h ago

If only Pepsi had given that guy the fighter jet, he could have saved that factory....

2

u/MATlad 15h ago

'We'll give you the Harrier and even training, but it also requires you to swear fealty, commission as a Knight of Pepsi and be on call to defend us. Also, if you're publicly caught drinking Coke...'

-1

u/Dependent-Reveal2401 14h ago

Take my upvote.

4

u/zomboscott 15h ago

I thought you were joking. You weren't joking.

5

u/Sea-Violinist-7353 15h ago

3

u/cecilpl 15h ago

The Cola Wars started 50 years ago, but up until now its just been a cold war.

36

u/Foe117 16h ago

While probably symbolic this wouldn't hurt coca-cola much either. let alone diplomatic ties.

26

u/Pacmyn 15h ago

Well, Trump said once that "American companies would work as security guarantees", so here is that

9

u/HalcyonTraveler 15h ago

Trump says a lot of things once

7

u/Ranemoraken 11h ago

You know... saying Russia is bombing American Coca-Cola could actually be a media campaign to invest in. It has the perfect combo of truth and manipulativeness that kinda sticks.

Like when some MAGA douche does their Putin defense you could be like, "Bruh, they're bombing American Coca-Cola. Are you okay with that?"

I'm pretty cynical... but I might have to test out that line. I live in MAGA country, so it'll come up at some point.

2

u/Sablestein 11h ago

Report back with your findings🙏

2

u/Telcontar77 6h ago

Alternatively, they'll hit you with a "nuh uh" and then continue playing with their own shit.

3

u/CyberShinChan2077 15h ago

I can't believe they are doing this to each other while they are clearly in love.

3

u/cwm9 9h ago

... what a bizarre targeting choice.

3

u/phigo50 13h ago

A clearer signal than Russia openly helping a country the US is at war with?

3

u/Pocketbombz 13h ago

Is Russia trying to provoke Mexico?

Clear sign they prefer Pepsi

2

u/Signal-Mud-4880 14h ago

they prefer pepsi

2

u/happyscrappy 14h ago

Sure, but Trump is too dumb to understand signals. And he only hires people who are as dumb as him so you can't count on Kegsbreath picking up on anything either.

2

u/The_Dreams 14h ago

Eh not a big deal. Now if it were Dr Pepper on the other her hand…

2

u/smell-my-elbow 13h ago

That they prefer Pepsi??

2

2

u/MRBVIII 5h ago

Russia again showing they have little to no interest in hitting military targets. Partially explains why they're doing so badly right now. Let hope Russia has a terrible winter with the ongoing refinery strikes (and I hope Ukraine resists Trump's attempts to stop them).

2

u/jB_real 3h ago

Nah, the US administration would rather pretend Canada burned down several Coca-Cola plants.

2

u/SchrodingersRSVP 15h ago

Trump unironically would care about this so much more than other trifling shit like "supporting our allies" or "defending our country."

4

u/torshakle 15h ago

What allies

2

u/SchrodingersRSVP 14h ago

I'll wistfully tell younger generations about the halcyon days of old when we had things like "friends" and "partners."

you wouldn't get it. it's genius, you see? you burn the cola factory to make orange mad. it makes orange flip out. what follows?

5

u/Mewhomewhy 15h ago

Nothing. Or probably Putin telling him it was Ukraine and Trump ranting about how it was Ukraine.

2

As long as they stay away from the Brawndo Factory, America will do nothing. Gotta have those electrolytes!!!

1

u/composedofidiot 6h ago

Cocacola drains russian aquifiers and pays russian influencers to promote new russian waterpop and profits, unsustainable growth model forces cocacola to identify and exploit new aquifier resources, lacks capacity to achieve goals, funds influencers into political power, turns to russian government full of influencers to fulfil implementation stage, becomes king of america, finally beats pepsi and banishes them to russia. Pepsi gets an idea. The cycle continues.

1

u/Have_A_Jelly_Baby 6h ago

Do they not understand the nonstop onslaught of ragebait bullshit we deal with from our own government? No one has time for brainpower to care about a random Coca Cola plant in Eastern Europe.

1

u/JRaus88 2h ago

Not the American Embassy.. "Coca Cola"..

We are beyond the stereotype. Next attack, McDonald?

"Pizzeria hit, serious diplomatic attack on Italy"

My god lol

2

u/Bonamico-Jok38 1h ago

lol honestly this reads like a threat from a mafia movie, but yeah the fact that destroying civilian infrastructure is somehow noteworthy because it's a recognizable American brand says a lot about what's actually happening over there

1

u/Mewhomewhy 15h ago

Was “not getting a boat sunk” the objective of the war?

What were the objectives of the war?

-4

u/gglikenp 16h ago

What a fuck did you ask? Can you translate it to English?

4

u/Thisguymoot 15h ago

It seemed pretty straightforward to me. Maybe you just don’t like the answer.

-11

u/gglikenp 16h ago

How many people have you killed during your life?

-3

u/No-Doctor-4396 16h ago

Maybe switch your news coverage if you believe Iran hasn't been decimated. Notice Iran's missile and drone count is pretty much non existent at this point and it's currency is worth less than monopoly money.

0

u/Mewhomewhy 15h ago

Maybe switch your own. They control the global oil trade.

-4

u/No-Doctor-4396 15h ago

They used to. Not anymore.

1

So oil is flowing freely through the strait?

-3

It's flowing some. Countries have used other routes now. I answered your question for ya. Strate of hormuz WAS the global route. No more.

1

No, you spouted delusional nonsense. Countries are scraping by but prices are still high due to them mess.

Can you answer what the objectives of the war were for me?

Zelenski also has a problem with Oligarchs in his country which last time I checked, run the place, nobody while he was in office did anything to solve, and nobody talks about it, but he's not in office any longer, refuses to have election and by all thoughts and purposes has been a dictator in his own country for the last two years, lacking the support of the people who also deffect the army not to continue his war.

This issue with coca-cola will be solved one way or the other, but him escaping the hangman puzzle...slightly more difficult. He is very corrupt and Ukranian people, unlike Russian people who are sitting ducks, have a better track record in revolting against tyranny and oust dictators. That's why he was elected from TV-clown I will remind. "They ate..they ate...they ate...". They were dumbfounded to believe he was better. Now he(and his wife through which he transfers the funds) is eating, he is eating, he is eating. What will the people do against it?

-2

u/myZippe 9h ago

I hope it was Cherry Coke. That stuff taste nasty.
