I am taking IMSA Work Zone Safety, IMSA tech 1, & IMSA TECH 2 in about 2 weeks. All 3 in 1 week. Is Tech 2 Hard ? Can anyone on here give a quick run down of what the tests 1 & 2 would cover ?

I’m 22 years old. I have 5 years work experience with a Union IBEW Contractor. I’m looking to learn more and expand my knowledge and try to make the most money in this field as possible. I know the certifications itself won’t get me a raise here with a union contractor but I’m open to going beyond Tech in this industry whether it’s a Traffic Signal Engineer type of career, spending the years and working towards becoming a super independent, or being a City Tech. I’m in Southern California

For bench test, I am having MMU error in my EOS controller. To bypass this error I used a paperclip to bridge pin 2 and pin 8 and also pin 2 and pin 10 of the SDLC port 1. Still I am seeing this error. Does anyone have a good solution?

​We’ve been getting conflicts between green and yellow lights across different phases at the same intersection. This latest hit was between the green on phases 2 (EB) and 6 (WB), and the yellow on phase 4 (SB).

​In one of the attached photos, see the conflicting channels with asterisks (*) and their corresponding voltage levels. The yellow on phase 4 is measuring at 49V, which isn't a true yellow. Also, if you check the fault signal sequence log, there's a blip across all signal heads—I’m not sure if that’s significant or just noise, but it happens every single time the temperature spikes. As you can see in the photos, cabinet temp hit 111°F today.

I've tried changing LS and some LEDs, but didn't help.

​Like I mentioned, this happens across various phases, and resetting it only works until the next heatwave.

​Any help troubleshooting this would be greatly appreciated!

Whats everyones thoughts on these? We just let go of our Campbell contract and these were approved in place of them. We also Have Polara that we’ve had very little issues with.

Has anyone had issues with a pickle flashing the intersection. New Econolite TS-2 cabinet (bench tested before deployment), Brand new Pickle. Everything works great during normal run and whenever I go out to test it but for some reason when the cops come and use the pickle they are flashing it somehow. MMU (EDI) Event logs just show cvm fault. Always resets immediately when tech gets out there.

With the help of some fishing line and guitar picks, I was able to cut through the silicone seal and get inside my Dialight signal. Coming from personal experience, Dialight really doesn’t want people getting inside their products.

Like any incandescent-look LED signal, it has a fresnel lens and diffuse lens. What makes the latest iteration of these 12” yellow signals special is the orange tinted plastic that sits over the LED board. This uses white LEDs (~6500 K) plus that color filter to produce the yellow light. Both clear and tinted lens variants have these filters. Red and green Dialight 12” signals also have that filter plastic, but it is clear because the LEDs themselves produce the colored light. The LED driver is made by Philips.

I am trying to start my own business, iv been doing electrical work since 2013, i have a completed apprentice, IMSA signal tech 1, getting my construction tech 2 in October. Iv been in traffic work for 2.5 years. I am gonna finish off my electrical career doing traffic work, i really like this part of the trade. I'm planning to start my own shop doing traffic work, I'm looking to pick up service, maintenance work and eventually get into building. how doable is this for a small shop. are your municipalities only working with large corps? any insight or opinions would be super helpful.
