Lcp max - m carbo vs galloway

Upvotes

I'm looking to upgrade the trigger on my lcp max and I can't find tons of direct comparison reviews. From what I can see, the m carbo removes more pre travel, which is what I'm after.

if anyone has used either, let me know your thoughts.

7.62x39 ranch rifle

Has anyone had any success on changing the stock on a gen 1 ranch rifle in 7.62x39? It takes mini 30 mags so won’t be the same as a standard stock conversion for other cartridges, just curious to see what options are available.

New Gun Day (Yesterday)

Sorry, no photos. It's nothing fancy.

I went into my local Scheels just to browse and wound up buying my 2nd Ruger. The first is a Super Wrangler which was one of the first guns I bought a few months ago.

I went in to see what was in the used cases. They had an RXM (19400) and there was nothing special about it, but it was relatively cheap in my opinion. Showing signs of wear/use, but the pistol came with only 1 mag and an optic. Osight X optic with the charging cover and a cheap looking Kydex holster. No box or other accessories and missing the plate for the slide where the optic goes. For $330 plus tax though, I thought it was a good deal.

I plan on doing some upgrades to it so I have some questions.

How do people like the Sharps Bros grip modules? I'm not sure what I want to swap to so I think I'll use the Ruger store 20% off and get the Magpul full-size in ODG for now so I can see which grip size I like more. But the Sharps Bros in black with the VZ Grips Operator II grips in worple sounds really nice.

Next would be slides and barrels. Because this isn't going to be a carry weapon, I want to put a compensator on....but I don't know where to start. What brands of barrels and slides are good? Do I get something like Brownells or Zaffiri, True Precision or NDZ? Radian Ramjet/Afterburner? I'd like to keep it fairly sleek looking so the vision was Sharps Bros with the worple grips, a black slide that has better serrations and maybe some lightening cuts in it, a barrel that stands out slightly...stainless steel most likely. And a comp...unless the I go with a barrel that's ported. I don't know what the best options are.

This will be a slow build. I plan on shooting and learning the gun as it is, then swapping to the full-size Magpul grip module.

My ultimate goal is to have something that not only looks nice, but shoots flatter in the sense of controlling muzzle flip as much as I can using weight and port/comp. It won't be a competition gun, but I do want it to be able to hold its own if that makes sense and is even possible.

Please give me any feedback...criticism, advice, anything you've got...including sharing your RXM.

Ruger Security 380 Ammo

I am reading in these forums that the Fiocchi ammo is not very reliable for my new Security 380. During my first range session I used some CCI Blazer brass and it worked flawlessly. My other local options are Winchester 90 grain FMJ and Remington UMC 95 grain FMJ in a 250 bulk pack. The price per round is cheapest with the Remington at about .30 cents a round versus .38 cents for Blazer or .40 for the Winchester.

Has anyone had good (or bad) experiences with the Remington UMC?

Edit: I'm skiddish because when I got my 942 22LR I bought a 300 pack of Remington and it just gunks it up and makes it freeze.. so now I'm just holding onto it until I can get a different 22 to use it on (.22 rifle or TX22 or Mark IV or something)

American Gen ii Ranch 350 Legend Mag Well Option

This feels like a stupid question but is there any difference beyond getting a different magazine when going with the AR mag vs flush fit AR mag. I want the flush fit for hunting. It looks like Duramag also offers an after market flush fit option.

Loads for Ruger American Gen2 in 308Win?

Hello.

If you have a Ruger American Gen2 in 308Win, could you post what ammo you are using that is giving you good or great accuracy? Either factory ammo or your own reloads. If your own reloads, please give the details.

I just came back from the range with my Ruger American Gen2 Scout and I am getting okay to terrible accuracy.

I shot some 147gr Winchester garbage just to get on paper. Wasn't too bad for how bad this ammo is.

Then shot some 175gr Federal Gold Medal Match which was pretty good but has significant recoil.

I also tried some 200gr subsonic S&B that while being very high quality ammo, was minute-of-side-of-barn accuracy. Probably was shooting 2 to 3 foot groups at 100yards which makes me think that the 1:10 twist of the barrel is not enough to stabilize the bullets. (A bit disappointing as it's super quiet with a suppressor).

What would you recommend?

(As far as I can tell, nothing wrong with the rifle. Suppressor was also mounted properly, never came loose, and bore was perfectly concentric with the suppressor bore.)

So I've had my rxm for about 2 years, but I've noticed this weird thing with it, witht he factory 4.5in barrel and factory slide and 16lb spring, the striker dosnt dry fire without force, but, with this random psa dagger slide I got, it dosnt require a hard trigger pull when dry firing, is this a common thing for the rxm? Ps sorry for the bad quality I'm doing this with one hand.

Can someone help me find one?

I bought one of these 5 years ago as a grail gun. But due to a family emergency I had sold it because I needed the money. Now I've been trying to find one but can't. Anybody know someone who is willing to sell or where I can buy one? I've searched everywhere online. Ruger Vaquero 45acp birds head grip blued.

Has Roger discontinued this pistol? No one seems to have them and they are out of stock everywhere. Have been looking for one and just can’t find one in Pennsylvania.

Will There Be A Slimline RXM?

I love the RXM. I think it really kicks anus. Not just as a "value" option, but it is actually competitive in quality with other striker fired pistols of its size.

I know that the third generation patent of the Glock design running out is what paved the way for the RXM and other clones and the slim Glocks are sort of similar to gen 5. But if companies like PSA can make slim Glock-likes, do you think Ruger will come out with their own versions?

I love the Shield Plus and I like the Glock 43x/48, but I would support Ruger with a purchase if they threw their hat into the ring here. I know about the Max-9, but it didn't agree with me.

Picked up my new Ruger last month, I added a few tasteful mods. This was a budget friendly build. Including the AR, I was just under $1k. I’d like to think I did a pretty good job without breaking the bank. Let me know if there’s anything I should add! Thanks.

There are many like it, but this one is mine 🤗

Initial thoughts; The trigger is straight trash. I’ve got the Galloway trigger out for delivery today, along with springs n such. I’ve never taken apart a gun for more than cleaning, so that should be a fun learning experience. Hopefully the university of YouTube will get me through it 😆

The Osight is… fine. I shoulda ponied up the extra $30 for the holosun, but it’ll do. Installed relatively zeroed according to my boresight laser thingy, but won’t know for sure until I throw some lead down range.

The silly WA 10rd mag makes it a bit uncomfortable, but I may have some 12rders waiting across the river 😊

Vedder LightTuck fits perfect of course.

All in all, happy so far!
