Updated my TV Late July/ early August and afterward my tv would randomly turn on during the night.

I then saw a new update a few days ago that I thought was a hotfix to my issue and it made my tv worse. Now my tv boots 4-5 times in a boot loop, when it turns on it last for 30 seconds before turning back off and getting stuck in a boot loop again.

Can I please get help! Is this something the Roku dev team is working on to fix? This is definitely an issue caused by Rokus update that has made my tv unusable.

I have a TCL TV with a Roku express 4k plus.

It has worked flawlessly for a year. I was tired of using a separate remote to turn the volume up and down on my TV so I ordered the "Roku Voice Remote, Replacement TV Remote Control" Off Amazon supposedly from the Roku store. Set it up and it worked great for about 3 days and then started working sporadically. After much troubleshooting I opted to return the device and they offered to send me a new one which I accepted.

Same thing. It worked flawlessly for a few days and now I have to mash buttons to get what I want and it does not always work, however, it works flawlessly with the volume and power button on my television.

I've done all the troubleshooting I can re-pairing the remotes, turning everything off unplugging everything even got a new USB cord for the Roku device. It is plugged into the wall. I'm about to return the second remote and be done with it.

Any last suggestions?

I have a Roku ultra and I seem to have an audio sync issue only with Hulu, more specifically Law and Order SVU. If I put on a different show (MasterChef), the delay is either not present or not noticeable. I thought it was just a problem with the edit of the episode but it’s multiple episodes on and off, and if play the episode on Hulu on my phone it’s not delayed. The ads are not delayed either. I have done the sync correction with the Roku app several times (it did resolve audio issues on other apps). Any ideas? I’ve tried deleting the app, checking for updates, etc.

Ever since the software update recently, my remote is randomly disconnecting and stopping working. I have tried everything. I have a 2nd remote that works with my TV and it is doing the same thing. I tried new batteries, tried pushing all the buttons and cleaning the remotes. It's not the remote.

Also I'm having random lag issues while trying to watch movies or TV shows.

I’ve hooked up my Roku stick to my LG TV. I then use the Roku app to try to listen to the audio through my iPhone but all it does it mute the sound on the TV. Both are on the same network and this worked fine on my other TV. Any ideas I can try?

I'm having problems with my TV (all i know about the tv is that it says onn. On the center bottom and Roku TV on the lower right corner) The issue is that the TV isn't taking ANY up or down inputs from the remote. The mute button also doesn't work. And no, it's not an issue with the remote, I already tried swapping out the batteries and trying a new remote. Plus, when I used the Roku App, the TV didn't respond to anything I pressed. What should I do?

My father in laws bday is coming up and he loves his Roku TV and dual speakers, but they are in a large family room and far away from the TV. Are there any good sound bar pairings/do other brand sound bars still work when also using the dual speaker system?

I looked at the StreamBar but can't tell if it's a waste since he already has a Roku TV, or if you can pair them all together at once.

Recorded a show. Went to watch from library and it loads to 33% and spins. Opened the show on the phone app and it’s fine. Tried to watch again from Roku and it spins. So I started the recording on my phone, switched to Roku and resumed it without issue. When done watching I tried to restart from the beginning and no go. So there is something at the beginning of the recording that the Roku app doesn’t like. I’m not sure if this is a tablo or a Roku issue.

I wanted to watch TV but suddenly it decides to disconnect itself from the internet and now I can't watch anything. The other rooms still have fully functional TVs with internet so why is this only happening to mine??????

I was given a TV. My family member has all their stuff still on it. I want to reset it all. Can I do so without it messing up their other tvs. My mom told me to keep it as it is but it's now mine. Why would I leave all the other persons stuff on it.

What happened to the Pluto TV Home screen? Nothing is the same. Under Settings there is nothing you can modify. There is no Favorites or Channel guide like before. They display show types at the top now like Comedy, Crime etc. NO Western at all. The Sci-Fi is just a long list of shows 7 across and endless down.

Go to Home> scroll 4 lines down for Favorite Channels.
The list is one long horizontal scroll. No History I can find. This makes it near useless.

I have found the tv guide. It is under Live TV on the left side and Favorites is there as is the old layout.
The programs are out of the order I had arranged.

What reason have they changed the layout like 3 times so far this year.

I have a question regarding the Live TV app with a Roku.

If I were to arrow down and to the left, then select the Favorites category in the guide, then click on a channel in my favorites list, I noticed that it doesn't stay in the Favorites category when I use the up and down arrows to select other channels. The same is true if I selected on a channel in my Favorites category in the guide and view the channel. As soon as I arrow left to bring the guide back up, the guide goes back to the All Channels category.

I can't figure out a way to keep the Live TV app in the Favorites category if I want to.

Am I missing something, or is this working as designed? I tried searching for what I see, but I can't find anything online. Thanks in advance.

I’ve been using the Backgrounds app for about a year, which is basically the same as the Samsung Frame art TV. It runs after you “turn your TV off,” displaying paintings you specifically pick out.

TBH, never put much thought into the long term effects as my energy bill never went up, so I likened it to a computer screensaver (old computers used to run screensavers 24/7 unless you fully powered them off, I grew up with my Grandma’s “Live Fish Tank” screensaver)

However, my screen is looking pretty hazy… foggy. We first noticed it today with a video game looking off. Now I’m noticing it with the backgrounds running. I do not, however, notice it while actually watching TV.

Have I unintentionally killed my screen?

Edit: Before this, I always had themes or Roku City running if the screen timed out, so I don’t feel like that’s any different… Is their lifespan in general ~3 years?

When do you plan on fixing this CEC bug that seems to be going around. After recent updates, I’m sick and tired of my tv getting auto turned on 10 times a day/night. The complete setup (Roku, avr, tv) had worked flawlessly for 5 years and then you decided to break via “updates”. It’s the only device in my stack that ever updates because all others don’t have auto update enabled. I already tried a new remote and new hdmi cables just for fun

Unplugging my Roku at night is not a long term solution. :(

A few months ago something happened and i thought I had gotten hacked. A bunch of roku streaming channels got purchased such as howdy, hallmark, and several more as well as a few movie titles. I did not do this. I woke up to several "thank you for your purchase" emails that were legitimately from Roku. I called roku, got a refund, and put a pin on my roku account as well as any other apps that I could. I don't pay for any roku streaming apps so I also removed my payment method to make sure this doesn't happen again. At least once or twice a week roku will send me about 20 emails in a row asking my to add different payment methods for something like Hallmark or any of their other apps. It's very frustrating. Especially after so many things were purchased without my concent. There will be about 10 asking for my PayPal and 10 asking for cash app. These emails are also from roku and not spam. Has anything like this happened to anyone else? Did it ever get to resolved?

This billboard sits on top of "Anthony's Barbershop," but they aren't related. I absolutely know I've seen the show from which this image comes from, but I can't remember at all from where. It's most likely from a cartoon; it is not made by roku (not a direct reference to the original king kong and not the roku robot that has been seen rampaging in the back ground).

You can't see it clearly here, but bigfoot is wearing sunglasses and he's got a cool grin on his face. I seem to remember it might be from a cartoon like "Rick and Morty," (interdimensional cable episode? Couldn't find it, but I don't have access to Hulu at the moment to check further) "Bob's Burgers," "Family Guy," "The Simpsons," or some other adult cartoon.

I remember that the robot and bigfoot depicted show up on an animated TV screen in a scene that's no more than about 15 seconds long. They come in from either the left or right and big foot almost drops the house, and he laughs, then they freeze into frame to make this logo for a fictional moving company advertisement whose name I cannot remember.

Surely someone else other than me remembers this little easter egg as I haven't been able to find any reference to it on most threads here; if it's referenced at all, then its usually listed as unknown. I've seen it referenced as "Mecha and King Kong Movers" but this doesn't yield any positive result in google; no link to a clip or any such thing. If someone has a link to the clip or episode from whichever show this comes from, I would really appreciate it. It's been driving me crazy for years that I can't remember where it comes from.

Ive never made a post on reddit but ive tried everything and im not sure what else to do, my 8 month old niece got ahold of the remote and was messing with it without me noticing. now no sound will come through, I have a roku tv and an Onn soundbar connected. Ive changed cables for it, Ive turned everything off and back on again, I checked for any system updates, I reset my tv through the settings, Ive changed the audio to stereo, then through everything else, I reset the audio/video thing through the advanced settings, Ive switched through all the audio outputs, Im not sure what else to do, It would play sounds in the menus and now it doesnt play sound at all. im not sure if this is the right subreddit to post this i just need someone to help me with this please TvT

No matter what digital output format/Preferred streaming output configuration I try nothing works.
I get HDHR splash screen sound but no audio with any channels. I have turned off vol leveling. Checked for any updates for all devices. Plex audio works with the Roku stick.

If it also matters Samsung TV with a LG soundbar with a optical cable connection.
I have 6 Roku sticks and all are running great with HDHR and digital output format/preferred streaming output set to auto.

Ever since the recent software changes, my 32" TCL Roku TV has aggressive soap opera effect permanently turned on. Worse, the "Expert Picture Settings" menu option has been entirely stripped away .

I lived with it for a bit and decided I don't like it. All the tiles for what I watch are small so they can fit in ads for other shows. Most are available on streaming networks with commercials, which I rarely if ever watch.

I have to scroll for twice as long because the content I actually use is displaced by ad tiles, including tiles twice the size of others. I doubt I can use the * to get rid of them.

Edit: I went into settings and removed the recommendations listing. So much better, thanks! Also going to remove the "quick" option.

No sound on Bluetooth earbuds when they auto connect but it says connected. If I connect them manually there is sound. This issue just started about a month or so ago. Before that everything worked fine.

Roku TV was working great for a long time, but then in the last 2 weeks we have turned it on twice to find a failed update, and then checking for updates says its fine, checking connection says its fine, but trying to open any app says there is no connection.

Things that don't help: removing and re-adding apps, rebooting with or without unplugging for 10 min, removing and re-adding to the wifi, removing almost all apps (down to just 2 now), cache reset (the hold 5 home times, up etc thing).

What did help temporarily but now it's happened again: factory reset.

Anyone else ran into this recently? If yes then how did you fix it? Is there a way to disable all updates so they stop breaking it? Factory resetting very often is super annoying.

Roku TV was turning itself off and then on for five seconds on repeat. I tried everything suggested in a Google search/YouTube vid (unplugged components, left TV unplugged for an hour, tried a wall outlet rather than the surge protector, made sure I wasn't sitting on the remote, etc). It wouldn't stay on long enough to get to a menu, so I couldn't try the menu fixes.

I factory reset using the button on the back of the TV. But now when I'm in recovery mode, select my language, and connect to WiFi, it downloads an update, says "Restarting", and kicks me back to the language select. I'm stuck here in a loop.

Hoping someone has a suggestion that'll prevent me from junking it. Thanks in advance.
