Titan (the car) saw it's first tornado! The base is a 99 SC2 weighing in at 3,000 pounds. On our first chase we easily got to 75mph and got around 30mpg. Still not complete of course.

Battery spot welder from reclaimed power tool cells

Had one of those temu spot "welders", utterly useless stock il-po pouch cell cant deliver enough current to make an acceptable weld. Had several reclaimed high current rated 18650s from recycling power tool batteries, not internally shorted but with greatly diminished capacity so effectively useless.

Wanted to use a spot welder for building a pack with food cells, so decided to parallel up my junk cells to make a nice fire hasard / high current pack and use the control logic and drive section from the temu welder.

Results speak for themselves, not sure if crappy welder or just crap at welding.

Yes mom, asbestos underpants and full face shield were worn throughout.

Couch foot broke off, fixed it with what I had lying around

Post image

More specifically the wood block connecting the foot to the couch split off. Duct tape was to hold it in place while I put in screws on each side, screws made the wood split, which is why the zip ties are there. Leaving the duct tape for aesthetic reasons.

Somehow it holds, tried it with me + my roommates on there (some 580 lbs total) and it didn’t budge

Safety switch in the seat that cuts the engine if the blades are running and you fall off was malfunctioning because it lost its place in the once moulded foam seats. After mowing while clenching my butt for almost a year just to keep the button depressed, I finally got irritated today when the slightest bump would kill the mower. Took the button out of the seat and created a rough pine board pedal so I can just press it with my foot, thus keeping the safety feature while fixing the issue. Bonus is that now I can rip around trees closer and faster cause I can now shift my body weight around in the seat

TLDR: fixed fucked up safety switch by making a peddle to step on to engage it instead of being seat operated.

I found this slide. What’s the worst possible idea I could use it for?

Post image

I found this playground slide.

I have absolutely no practical use for it, which means obviously I need to do something stupid with it.

Looking for ideas that are terrible in concept but preferably not hospital-level terrible in execution. Key point: it does not need to be useful lol.

What should I build/do with it?

Photo for scale/inspiration.

Does an infrared sauna with app control actually make a difference or is it just a gimmick?

Looking at a few different units and some have infrared sauna with app control and some don't. The price gap between app connected and non connected models isn't huge but can save some money, and I'm wondering if it's a feature I'll actually use or something that sounds cool and gets ignored. Anyone using app control regularly?

Lasted me through 2 presidencies, 3 jobs, and too many beers to count. Gone but never truly forgotten.
She served me well over the years. When I had important interviews and dates, she was there for me. And when the lid-lock sensor broke, I was there for her.
A true legend. Tried like hell to save her today but her heart (dc power supply) was too far gone.

What's the point in building a cheap air filter and buying a ridiculously expensive air quality monitor? Also, how assuming this is a first world purchase, how bad is the air quality in the first place, really?

Problem Solved

My beautiful wife complained that nobody wants to stay in the guest room with all the old loud servers and network gear in there. That gave me an idea, since nobody wants to use the bed apparently, I found a new use for the bed slats. Now to figure out what to do with the mattress before she gets back from her girls weekend...
