That's a weird take, take out the "cool guy" part you slotted in there and that's just a reasonable take. Some games' fandoms can die down over the years, potentially making it harder to find people to play with/talk about things with.
That's how I was with Dragon Age Inquisition. I started playing super late, enjoyed it quite a bit and got into the multi-player aspect of it, but by that point, every match or every other match was just me and the same few people for months. It was neat in it's own niche way, don't get me wrong, but it made me feel sad knowing they'd likely stop the servers or everyone would just quit. Wish I had played it on launch with all of the new people.
