That was my first thought as well. Either that or they think Chrome is somehow better than Edge.

Firefox? Anybody? It has actually decent edit features too. And it can better bypass read/write protections for copying

Firefox is unironically my favorite PDF editor

I use adobe acrobat to print MTG proxies. For whatever reason Edge and Chrome make the cards print out like 2mm short than they should be.

Our work laptops come pre installed with it and I still have no idea why.
Maybe cause it actually allows you to edit PDFs but then again why, we never really need to do that

This might sound controversial, but I used to open pdfs in Adobe Acrobat at work, but it was a free version and it would constantly ask you to pay if you wanted to do almost anything and would occasionally reset its settings, so I switched to using Edge, which apparently has an Adobe-based pdf viewer, except it isn't annoying and works better. Been using Edge ever since

For work, it’s not a horrible browser. It’s just horrible at everything else Microsoft forces you to use it for, like viewing pdfs.

The second i "upgraded" to win11 recently, after fixing a ton of things, the next thing i did was immediately make sure all my files open up in the correct apps since for whatever reason Microsoft thinks its sooo fun to change my preferences that ive set for multiple years and kept, but noooo i totally want to use the microsoft video player instead of vlc, i totally want to use edge instead of opening up in the browser I use, i totally want to open up the zip in the file explorer and NOT in winrar. That would be insane

I actually preferred pre-Chromium edge for PDFs, I exclusively used it for that. Too bad that's gone now.

Firefox and forks > Chromium Browsers > Adobe Reader as far as PDFs go
