Anyone in town make hotsauce? I have extra reapers and ghosts and Habaneros this year.

I am just growing in my small garden here. No chemicals. I am freezing most of them right now. But dehydrate 95% for making seasonings. Thought I'd offer some up for someone if they like making sauces.

Gentleman Jim's Events?

I drive by this bar by MTSU a few times a week and there's often something happening in their parking lot...a tent, grills, unmarked food trailers, I think recently there was a school supply thing....I never see any signs up or ads online though. Does anyone know if they post their events or are these private things?

Fabric Stores in the Area?

I just got a football jersey for myself and it doesn’t quite fit. Since I got it for an upcoming trip (I’m leaving on next Thursday so don’t have time to return it) I thought I would just put some gussets in the side so that I could wear it next weekend. However, since JoAnne‘s no longer exists, I have no idea where I would get football jersey material. It would need to be like either a red or white polyester spandex blend. Does anyone have any clue of where I might be able to go shop for that this weekend so I could get it sewn up before I go?

Pizza by the slice?

I've only seen one place so far and it's in a sketchy area with the worst condition parking lot I've ever seen. And the slice was not great tbh. Are there other places? I'm on the mtsu side of Mboro.

I am moving to Murfreesboro from a small town about an hour away. Does anyone have any veterinarian recommendations? I would really like locally owned & kinda need reasonable pricing.

Why is quality workmanship so rare in home improvement/repair companies?

It seems every time I have to hire a company to work on my house, the job turns out looking like they didn't know what they were doing. I am not going to tell you how much I paid because it is embarrassing considering the poor job they did.

New siding, they tried to put on a different product than what was sold to us. I couldn't communicate to the one guy who showed up two weeks late because he didn't speak English. This was from a large company. They finally delivered the correct product, but the installation looks pretty bad. They left their trash everywhere including monster drink cans and water bottles and nails all around the house because they were too lazy to pick them up when they dropped them.

They destroyed my chimney cap and instead of hiring a company that actually specializes in that work, a month later, with a tarp keeping the rain out of the house, they tried to install one themselves and screwed that up.

They took down 3 outside light fixtures and didn't reinstall them. They reinstalled my downspouts upside down to get them to fit back on over the siding, instead of cutting them to fit because of the siding. Upside down downspouts do not work to drain water away form the base of the house by the way.

This is why I do most of the repairs myself. We can't trust any of these shady companies, contractors, builders who are operating in the Middle Tennessee area right now.

I should have done everything myself. It would have taken just as long, but it would have been less expensive and actually done the correct way. Maybe I should start my own company.

Murfreesboro has no soul

I just overheard someone say he hates Murfreesboro because it is a town without a soul. I am finding difficulty disagreeing with him.

Even with an enormous university most of the kids leave for the weekend because there's nothing for them here. It seems like most businesses in Murfreesboro are chains. There's so little culture: No music, no art, no night life. Theres nothing for adults to do after 930. We are a sleepy suburb of Nashville, not a college town.

For those that disagree, what does Murfreesboro have that we can all our own? And what can we do to improve that culture? If you agree, what actions can we take to organically create a soul for Murfreesboro?

Is MTSU for me?

I'm a 20yo from Manchester, England. I have opportunity to go to MTSU, Chicago (columbia college) or Toronto (Humber college) with a studying abroad program. I like the actual look of this place the most. My worry though its not in the city like the other two. I like partying and kinda want to live that stereotypical house party american college lifestyle. Is this the best option? Do people head into Nashville often? Is it as cool as it looks? Is the social aspect good? Is it good for picking up girls lol. Tell me everything convince me to chose MSU or convince me not too. Cheers.

Rutherford county speeding ticket question

My son got a speeding ticket in Murfreesboro. It was Rutherford county and was a highway patrol officer. It's his first ticket and it was under 20 over so he wants to ask for traffic school. When he goes to court, are you supposed to plead guilty and ask for traffic school to avoid points? Or how does it work or what should you say?

Are there any jobs hiring under 18

I’ve applied to countless places everywhere you can think of grocery stores and fast food places like even the worst of the worst but I can’t seem to find a job because there are old ass people that are grown asl who work at teen jobs like why are you at McDonalds taking orders in your 30’s and 40’s like what the fuck is going on

Anybody notice a dirt taste in your tap water lately? I have a faucet water filter and it tastes like it came out of a mud puddle even from the filter. I live in Cason lane/hwy 99 area.

Nashville Vets & First Responders: Join Us for a Free Outdoor Gathering This Sunday 8/9

Hey everyone!

We're hosting a free outdoor afternoon this Sunday, August 9 at Edwin Warner Park for veterans, active duty military, firefighters, EMS, law enforcement, first responders, and their families.

It's a simple, low-key way to unwind in nature, connect with others in the service community, and enjoy a relaxed day outdoors — no agenda, just good company and fresh air.

Here's what we've got planned:

  • Scenic Trail Walk – A relaxed stroll through the park.
  • Guided Meditation – A short session with a practical tool for stress relief and mental clarity.
  • Food for Wellbeing – A quick, friendly demo with simple ideas for healthy eating.
  • Wholesome Meal – A free vegetarian meal for everyone who comes out.
  • Live Acoustic Music – Some tunes to relax and hang out to.

Event Details:

  • When: Sunday, August 9 | 10:00 AM – 1:00 PM
  • Where: Edwin Warner Park, Nashville, TN (Shelter 10)
  • Cost: Completely free! Open to all active service members, veterans, first responders, and their families.

We're organizing this through the Isha USA Nashville Chapter as a small way to give back to those who dedicate their lives to serving others.

Please RSVP using the link below so we can make sure there's enough food for everyone:

Got questions? Drop them in the comments — and feel free to pass this along to anyone in the Nashville area who might enjoy an afternoon in the park. Hope to see some of you out there!
