I agree. Honestly the huge bananas are over filling and hurt your stomach. Completely over rated

Eggzactly ! The volume of a full size Chiquita banana is so ridiculously large it hurts my stomach to eat an entire one.

When I first started working in a large chain grocery store around 2011 I was always amazed that a giant bushel? Grip? Of bananas was only like, 89 cents. I wondered why hunger was an issue when bananas were so cheap.

Those bananas can do a number on your stomach.

u/KhaosExNihil125 1d ago
Unless you cook em, apparently all it takes is heat to gelatinise the starches

u/spaceprinceps 1d ago
Is that why they come from tropical countries
13
u/KhaosExNihil125 1d ago
That isn’t relevant to the process at all, really a green banana is more like a potato than anything else and it’s just like cooking a potato

Aaww, too bad. We have a few types of tiny bananas in my country and the ones I've tried were good. A lot of sweetness in a small package.

Remember, it's not the size, it's what you do with it...

It’s not the size… it’s how it tastes. Or something.
Edit: wait, you can grow your own bananas? Like indoor or outdoor? What climate? I thought that shit was like grass and only grows once or something. I am intrigued. 🍌 🌴

Please do not try to eat it, the seeds in it are huge compared to regular sized bananas

I read this as "banana from my tiny housemates garden" and it still makes sense.

Nature really said “banana but make it travel-sized.”😂 Honestly kinda adorable. Wonder if it tasted any different or was just a tiny regular banana

Id say thats a pretty averaged sized banana, might even be on the bigger side. Also very girthy, i wouldn't complain if that was me, i mean my banana.

Well, I was always told that there is nothing wrong with small bananas and that some women even prefer them that way!

When I was a kid, my grandfather would take me to the local markets where they sold bananas that were that size. They were some kind of species that only got that big I think.
It's a core memory of mine, hanging out with him and getting bananas. RIP grandpa

Some people say that bananas that size are better- more comfortable, just as filling as normal bananas.

It won't let me post the gif from Futurama where Leela gives Fry a mini fruit salad tree and Fry eats the tiny banana then throws the peel on the ground which Amy slips on. But imagine that gif right now.
