I was looking for this comment, I'd even say you could say the same for God of war Greek Saga because GOW2 is peak!

This. Story still very solid for ragnarok but it’s the gameplay in ragnarok that I thoroughly enjoy

Idk man, the Ragnorak continuation didn’t disappoint me in the slightest story wise

Not saying it's disappointing, but it's like comparing an 8/10 with what was a 10/10 that was the original

My (insignificant/limited ) take would be that writing an ending is always harder than a beginning-cliffhanger portion of the story. The dialogue and character development was still exceptional in 2. I won’t die on this hill though

I completely agree that writing an ending is harder, but comparing the perfect ending that GoW 3 had, it's linda hard to ignore that the ending even though great, is less impactful than the original, also the Atreus sections bring the overall enjoyment of Ragnarok down

It’s more so that the story in ragnarok took a hit because the studio changed their mind on there being 3 games and just made it two. I still think the story is amazing, but pacing could have been a bit better.
