AI Job Search Update

We've heard from a lot of members that some of the missing filters make it harder to search the way they're used to. We're working on bringing back several of the most-requested filters, and we're also temporarily restoring the option to switch back to the previous search experience while we continue improving the new one.

Our goal with AI-powered job search is to give you flexibility to describe what you're looking for in your own words, including details you might normally use a filter for and things that don't fit neatly into a filter. That said, we know filters are still a key part of the experience for many people, so we’ve kept some of the most-used filters available and introduced suggested filters below the search bar. These suggestions adapt to what you search for, helping you narrow your results quickly.

Thanks for continuing to share your candid feedback. We're listening, and we'll keep making improvements based on what we hear.

advanced question Which service are you using for automated posting (text and image) on LinkedIn?

Upvotes

I'm currently exploring options for automated posting on LinkedIn that support both text and image. I'm particularly interested in services that offer API access. Any recommendations?

Example of use: an organization that publishes statistics monthly, accompanied by a chart.

Can't get verified on Linkedin

So I'm Ethiopian and I live in the UAE, however Linkeding doesn't give me the option to either upload my Ethiopian passport or UAE residence, Ethiopia is not in the list of countries and when uploading my Emirates ID or drivers license, it says it's not a passport and I need to choose a different ID type, but doesn't give me the option to do so

LinkedIn

I know I’ve asked this before somewhere, but is LinkedIn helpful to you in the job search as well as connecting with others?

At companies I’ve worked at, I’ve heard of instances where HR recruiters and other recruiters do reference checks through connections *they have* at companies where the applicant worked prior, or a mutual company at a period in time.

I know this sounds like a lot of work, but if something undesirable on the part of an applicant comes out, I don’t see how the applicant stands a stance at exploring new employment / opportunities elsewhere, at all. Now I know this happens because I’ve had recruiters specifically tell me it does, but I feel as though LinkedIn is a license for most folks to bad mouth potential applicants.

Has anyone else ever experienced this or think they have experienced it? It’s really hard to tell if one’s experienced it or not though because it’s usually through the hiring manager or recruiters connection where the feedback would come from versus the references the applicant would provide.

And some may say that this is an illegal practice on the part of hiring managers / recruiters, but who’s ratting them out? I don’t know how they would get caught…? And I don’t care what anyone says but no one, NO ONE, is perfect. This is a concern of mine, and I’ve made mistakes in the past everywhere I’ve worked. As I said, no one is perfect.

personal branding Is it advisable to market my business on LinkedIn?

I run my own startup where we primarily conduct outreach personally for companies that might fit our services instead of having people come to us. I have recently signed up for LinkedIn, however, with all the posts I see on their where they use AI to write every single post, I was wondering if it would even be worth it to utilize LinkedIn in its current state as a form of outreach.

Should I include new job in LinkedIn?

I’m in Australia and just got hired as a sales rep. In America, I worked a senior level consulting role. This sales job is also office-oriented, but I’m wondering if I should list it on my LinkedIn profile? Not sure if the seniority lines up to put on my profile, I’ve got this job while I’m on Working Holiday here.

LinkedIn puzzle game streak restore?

Hello everyone. I recently lost my streaks in some LinkedIn games because it decided not to apply my streak freezes. When I looked, the freezes had actually disappeared altogether, despite a 500+ day streak.

LinkedIn support told me to pound sand, of course. But now I see below my games “🎁 restore your xx-day streak.” Does anyone know what that means?

Thanks! It’s lame, but I’ve had these going for a while now and I feel pretty ripped off.

Linkedin timeline keep showing 3rd connection posts that were not reacted by my 1st

Is it just me or anyone's linkedin timeline also flooded by posts from 3rd connection that were not even reacted by their 1st or 2nd connection?? I find it weird af cause wdym you are not related to me at all, it's not even in suggested or promoted post, it just appeared regularly on my timeline. I keep pressing not interested but it just won't stop. For example: I work in engineering field but now my timeline filled with account that shares about tax, or portfolio of unknown people to me. Jeez -_-

I really need my timeline to be only filled by my connections and related posts, don't tell me to turn the recent post setting cause it will only show small bubble of news for me.

I realized it was only started like 2 days ago, and I need to reset it. Any idea how to do so? I fucking hate it oh gosh

Can recruiter see I clicked the apply button?

I ofc did some google search, and it says no they only can see statistics.

But activities show they can, after the website directs to the external page, and the recruiter can see who clicked the apply button, as a result, my LinkedIn profile.

I did turn the option off that they can’t not see the activity. But it seems like they still can

Linkedin has some really lame "notifications" that are uncategorized, giving me the option to opt out of "Notifications like this" without explaining what it is. Likely they are paid to push companies like SpaceX

Sorry, it says "This type of update" without explaining what type of update it is, but it's obviously trying to give SpaceX more clicks. LinkedIn is managed like any other crappy corporation now, a huge disappointment.

What would you change about LinkedIn?

I'm currently building a Linkedin competitor and want some honest opinions. What's the one thing you hate about Linkedin or think could be done way better? Would love to hear what you'd change.

Why an AI-powered job search feature?

I don't want LinkedIn to "interpret my search intent". I want the search to give me exact results based on keywords and filters. And I want the filters to be clear identifiable options, and not just a bunch of disconnected labels that changes the text of the search bar.

job search Rolling out AI job search again after flak

After all the deserved backlash they got last time, they really haven't learned their lesson. I genuinely don't understand the obsession with putting AI into everything. If something already works perfectly fine, why mess with it just for the sake of adding AI?

And what makes it even worse is taking away the option to switch back to classic search. It's not just adding a new feature anymore. It's forcing it on users by removing the choice. Why not let people decide which experience they prefer?

Jobs being reposted?

I'm currently on the 3rd round of interviews for a company (one more to go) and they just reposted the role on LinkedIn. Why could this be? Is this a bad sign that the pool of applicants (me included) isn't good enough even though I'm on the 3rd round?

It used to be 5 up until a few months ago, and that was already pretty lousy, now it's only three????

This crappy platform it's trying very hard to become even more irrelevant.

LinkedIn Jobs keeps stopping and showing incomplete results

Is anyone else experiencing issues with LinkedIn Jobs?

The Jobs section is not loading properly for me, and search results are sometimes incomplete or missing relevant jobs. The Job Preferences section is also glitchy.

The issue happens on both the LinkedIn app and web version. I’ve also tested different devices and internet connections, cleared the app data, reinstalled the app, and updated the app, but the problem continues.

Is anyone else experiencing this?
