interactive coding platform recommendations for someone who falls asleep watching tutorials

I have started and abandoned four video courses this year. Not because they were bad. I watch, I nod, I understand every line while it is on screen, and then I open an empty file and there is nothing in my head. Clearly I need the kind that makes me type. Candidates on my list are boot.dev, exercism and codewars, and it is less clear which of those are that and which just put a video next to a text editor.

your going to hit the same wall on any platform eventually, because the exercise still tells you what to build. The empty file problem only really breaks when you pick your own small project and suffer through it. Platforms shorten that runway, they do not remove it.
