So a guy came to my house a little bit ago. Said his wife lost her phone at the car wash up the street & the Find My Phone app is tracking it to my address. He showed me his phone and it definitely has our address, which is weird. I said “I have no idea - we’ve been home all day & the only devices here are ours. Sorry”

He started to argue & kept repeating that it’s tracking here - I told him I believe him, but it’s not here in this house - maybe it’s in the gutter? The yard? He just shook his head & left. I was honestly expecting a visit from the police next…(cuz that’s what I would do if I were him, honestly)

He came back about 15 minutes later & said “ma’am I really hate to bother you again, but are you sure it’s not here? My wife just got it for her birthday & she’s going crazy.”
I said “ I PROMISE YOU it’s not inside this house, BUT our house backs up to a field/trail & people are back there all the time - maybe someone dumped it back there?”

Sooo long story long, how accurate is the app, and how far on one side or the other (or more importantly back) of our house will it track to? Like how far behind the house could it be? It’s the only thing that makes sense - I want to help him find his wife’s phone once there’s daylight but not sure what perimeter to look in. Thanks in advance!

Edit: a couple of other details I forgot to add:
This happened during daylight - neighbors were out, so I didn’t think anything of it being a possible scam.

We have several cameras - one that announces you’re being recorded and have his face as well as his vehicle if needed.

If you have some insightful ideas using it that would be wonderful.

Anyone know how to fix this? The screen time records the standby time as well? My previous iPhone never did this.
Basically whenever i put my phone on charge over night (on the magnetic charger) the phone records the screen time? It eventually increases my screen time and i am not able to figure out the actual screen time for me.

I got a brand new iPhone17 that developed a small micro scratch. I only had it a week. It was purchased through Verizon on a corporate account so returning it is not really an option.

If I decide to pay for a screen replacement at an Apple store, is the water resistance rating going to take a hit? I have read mixed things on this. Some users reported moisture or water intrusion shortly after replacing by Apple.

hi guys, i just wanna share something I think its useful. I was watching videos from my Facebook and the audio got sped up then stopped. Tried on Insta, Spotify, and Tik Tok and they were all the same. I initially thought it was my JBL earbuds, asking AI and everything, restarted the earbuds and stuffs and nothing work. Until the bluetooth was off, the phone plays the video by itself and still got sped up, thats when I know its the phone. AI said its quite common for the new IOS 17+ so you guys can just restart the phone for everything to be back to normal. Hope that helps ☺️

I am on 26.6 .1 and just now I reset the keyboard dictionary to prevent the mistyping that has been happened before, but after that now I have been noticing a dot that is appearing and disappearing after sometime. It’s happening when I use the keyboard. It looks like a cursor. Is there any fix for it? I couldn’t take a screenshot of it. because if I take it, the dot gets disappeared. Can anyone help please ?

I recently tried Waze to test a new motorcycle feature but now, even after the end of my navigation, Waze warns me about speed bumps, narrow lanes etc etc. Even when I'm walking!

Hey guys! Probably just being paranoid but a little worried here. I have two flatmates ( but I’m currently not at the apartment) and in the past few days they’ve both started getting notifications that an AirTag is with them, and when they click on it it shows their exact routes to uni and back and everywhere else they’ve gone within the past day ( it does this each night at like 2 am). The thing is they both go to different campuses for classes. They’re both understandably worried but they only get the notifications when in the flat. When they try to ping it to make noise they cannot hear it. No one else has access to the flat.

Any explanation would be great! I assume someone up or downstairs has not claimed their AirTag or something, but that doesn’t explain why when they click on the AirTag on find my it shows my flatmates locations throughout the day?

My old XR has been stuck on this black screen for almost a year now, is there any way to fix this without having to get it sent for professional repairs.

It heats up when charging suggesting its not an internal hardware problem, and it doesnt get detected by my pc. I have already tried the volume up, volume down, and power button thing to force restart it but nothing came up. Is there any way to get this fixed by myself?

Okay so I recently switched from android to iPhone and wondering is it worth it or much of a substantial difference to get a brick plug because I have android ones that work and most of the time I just charge by my ps5 lol

My iPhone doesn’t hold onto cables nearly as securely as it should. It’s definitely time to clear out the port.

Is there an Apple-approved kit or process for cleaning the USB-C port on my 16 Pro? On my Lightning port devices I could clean out the gunk (usually pocket lint) with a sturdy yet flexible piece of plastic. But with the connector in the middle of this port that’s not an option.

Hi the title basically explains it all, I have a slate black iPhone 5 that I want to restore, the screen is like brand new but the housing has definitely seen better days, does anyone know where I can get a new/good condition housing for it? I’ve checked eBay, AliExpress and even ifixit, and they’re either used ones with some wear on them or a completely blank one. I am not a huge fan of the super blank one so if anyone has any recommendations it would be greatly appreciated. Thanks

I’ve enjoyed Apple Music until now but I’m realizing they are so limited on various things that Spotify already has. One main issues is having Apple Music recommend the same music on stations. Spotify is far better for discovering new music I feel

I found an old iPhone 11 Pro during a move.

In December 2024, the phone randomly blacked out and I was never able to revive it, so I ended up just getting a new phone. I tried plugging into mac, the volume & power button hold down, and practically everything that comes up when you google search how to restart iPhone, but the phone was never able to turn on again.

Everything was working fine before and during the day it died. I pretty much just turned on the phone and went to type my password in and then it turned off completely and never was able to turn back on again. It had about 30-40% battery life when it died. The battery was fine, screen fine, etc and I never had any major issues either it. It quite literally just died out of nowhere. The charging port was also fine.

I was wondering if anyone has any pro-tips or tricks, or if this has happened to anyone else and what they did.
