General advice for those concerned about their battery from the Support FAQ Wiki:
Battery health
Battery health depends on usage and a variety of other factors. It is normal to see a decrease in battery health by 7-10% per year, resulting in a battery health of 80-85% after 2 years. This number can fluctuate, remain the same, or decrease quickly over a small period and should not cause undue concern.
Apple recommend battery replacement when your device falls below 80% battery health if you notice reduced battery life. If it falls below 80% within the first year you may be eligable for a free battery replacement. It fails after your warranty, it's a $69-$89 USD replacement cost for a battery. Contact Apple Support here.
You can find more information about battery health and performance from Apple here.
You can check the cycles count with Coconut Battery for Mac or iCopyBot for Windows.
Battery life
Issues relating to battery life can be categorised in three ways:
If you experience issues with your battery:
Maximising battery life - the amount of time your device runs before it needs to be recharged.
Maximising battery lifespan - the amount of time your battery lasts until it needs to be replaced.

hi, I have an issue with a random scam looking email that is showing up as a conversation when i search the word “gmail” on my messages app and my siri suggestions search area. Ive blocked it and deleted anything that came with it and it still will not go away. When I click on it, it just pulls a pop up for me to send a brand new message.
I have also contacted apple support but the issue still persists.
Im not sure what to do and I am genuinely irritated at this point pls help.

I changed the wallpaper, and I'm not sure what else I did, but the notifications ended up with a white, glass-like look similar to iOS 18. How do you achieve this, or is it a bug? (I use black mode on iphone)
r/ios • u/No_Afternoon3387 • 1d ago
Image one: the notifications are inside the Notification Summary instead of being a standalone card where the old one goes behind it. Image two shows a Hurricane Warning card with a long card that goes all the way to the flash and camera. The critical text on the second image seems not realistic, and the red triangle doesn’t have a white inside it like image one.

Hello. I'm a Mac administrator, but it's been years since I worked iOS (used to work for Apple but never on iPhone...) and I am lost here. Genius Bar is also stumped. Any ideas on what to do next, before I take it back in?
Model: iPhone 16 Pro MYM93LL/A
iOS: 26.6.1 — Note: issue has persisted across multiple updates
No MDM, No VPN. I was running Nord VPN prior to this issue but uninstalled it and reset all network settings back to factory default.
Issue: When connected to a Wi-Fi network, the iPhone gets about 1-2 minutes of functional wireless connectivity. After which, network traffic appears to cut off, although the Wi-Fi settings status will still show the network as "connected." This happens on all Wi-Fi networks.
I've tested at least 10 different networks, a combination of private (home), private (work), public guest Wi-Fi both with password, without password, and ones that use captive portal. Different variety of router hardware and ISPs on the private Wi-Fi networks. Verizon 5G Home. AT&T 5G Home. Quantum Fiber network. Etc. So I'm fairly confident it is not "just my Wi-Fi." Always the other devices (Macs, iPads, PS5 at home, etc...) are working fine. Great speed on the network.
For an example of the issue presentation: You can open Safari, or an application like Spotify, YouTube, Facebook... the initial page will load. Or if there is cached version of the homepage, this of course will load. Then after 60 seconds (sometimes up to 2-3 minutes but usually immediate), nothing loads. New webpages: not loading. Content refreshing on the page, i.e. YouTube app rendering video previews, or Facebook loading more posts: nope. Spotify streaming: buffering indefinitely.
Switch to Cellular: it works. No problems on the cellular network.
What we have already tried:
I'm skeptical about it being hardware since, in my experience, Wi-Fi node issues are usually a "it doesn't work period" type of problem? And the sheer number of networks with different ISP and different hardware that we've tested it with, makes me doubt it's an obscure compatibility issue. And when all the other Apple devices work OK... 🤔 But maybe there's something I'm missing here that is iPhone specific?
It has AppleCare+ (so if we do need a repair, replacement, etc... that is fine.)
I'm at a loss and my data usage is a nightmare :)
All tips and thoughts appreciated. Thanks y'all!
I keep getting this error when I try to play this tv show on my iPod touch, it was working before but now stopped and no amount of resyncing with itunes it working.
I'm trying to open up a photo in my files app and every time I click on it directly, it redirects me to doordash. There are some photos it does this with and some that it doesn't, and all of the videos I can view normally. If I tap on a picture that opens normally I can then swipe over to whatever photo I want to look at and not get redirected. I feel that I worded this poorly, but I don't know how else to say it. Can someone help me so I can look at my photos and not open up doordash?
side note before anyone asks: It only seems to happen on photos that I don't wish to share with others so I can't get a screen recording of it

I'm having trouble with the "Local Capture" feature. I tried it with two different fully updated iPhones and on both it records only silent videos. Here's what I already ruled out:
So now I'm running a bit out of ideas. Does this feature work with audio for you guys? Does anybody have an idea what I might be doing wrong?

Let's talk about Adaptive Power. Have you enabled it? Why or why not? Do you notice any differences when it's on or off?
I currently have it disabled because I like to have control over my device's performance, but I'm considering enabling it if it saves a lot of battery life.

so my app store is set so that i have to ask a parent to get any apps, but when i request an app, the parent does not receive a notification. i'd like to know what i can do and what my parent can do to resolve this.
Info u should know: i do not have an ESIM, and cannot do SMS texting. i also have automatic updates turned off on purpose, so there is one update that is not installed. this is on purpose, so hopefully it's not that

Hey everyone! Just wondering if anyone else is experiencing this weird UI bug. See my iPhone sub post.
Thanks!

Dear All,
My daughter would like to move from a still working but partially defective iPhone 15 to another 15. So we ordered a used one from an eBay seller. However, I haven't managed yet to transfer the data from the old phone, because a current update doesn't run on the new phone, and any transfer attempt wants to have the update first.
This is about the update to iOS 26.6.1 which fails. The phone is currently on 26.4.2
In more detail (the below is not in the order I tried it, but I think it's easier to read that way):
1) Factory reset the new phone. Skip the transfer from another phone bit, set up as fresh phone. This works fine. Then the software update is shown. When I try to install it, first it downloads the update, but then the error message is "Unable to Verify Update. iOS 26.6.1 is temporarily unavailable. Try again later." But this is for days now.
2) Then I tried to install the backup via a Macbook Air. It downloaded the update and wanted to install it. But then error message (on the macbook): "The iPhone "<iphone name>" could not be updated. Declined to authorize this image on this device for this user."
3) I originally started with the usual procedure: Set up the new phone, and during setup, say restore/transfer from existing phone, held them next to each other, scanned the QR code, etc. However, then it says that it first needs to update to the newest iOS version (you can't skip this), and it just hangs there forever
4) I made a full local backup of the old phone onto the macbook, then tried to restore this to the new phone. However, it can't restore this unless the new phone is updated to the newest iOS version.
In the whole time, we went through numerous factory resets, tried with SIM and without SIM, tried to change data settings. I actively removed the downloaded update in the settings menu to enforce re-download (on the iPhone, on the macbook I tried it only once).
What's also "funny": The size of the update seems to vary all the time and I had everything between ~400 MB and 9 GB (in the storage and update sections of the settings on the iPhone).
TL;DR: The update from 26.4.2 to 26.6.1 fails. Because of this, I can't transfer the data from the old phone to the new phone.
Any idea how I could resolve this issue?
Best wishes,
Andre

Has anyone had issues with calendar permissions lately? An app I use to schedule classes suddenly doesn’t show the option to add calendar permissions in my settings. When I go to add a class to my calendar, it says permission is needed. However, that isn’t an option in my settings. The app is current and hasn’t changed, it’s just an issue in my settings. Is there any way go force this option?

Obviously, I am connected to the internet because I am typing and posting this reddit post. I’m trying to look at apple care and this issue is only happening in settings. I restated my phone and checked for software updates and it says I’m up to date with iOS 26.6.1? How do I fix this?

I’m buying my first iPhone, and I’ve seen that you can transfer your data from Android to iPhone using the Move to iOS app.
My question is: if I transfer my photos, will they all be cluttered into a single folder, or will they be organized into specific folders/albums like Screenshots, Camera, Favourites, Downloads, etc.?
Also, will the photos remain in the same chronological order, with their original date and time?

It reminds me of those scams that pretend to be your daughter or something, but this is just someone from my contacts that I recognized, in the ad.
The name is not standard enough to be a coincidence right? Maybe I’m going crazy…

I've set screen time for our 13 year old and removed his games from the 'Always allowed' app list. On his device he can go to settings, family, screen time and he can add the games back in without a code.
Is this normal behaviour? How can I stop him being able to bypass the list I've set?

Currently on iOS 27 db. Ever since I updated iOS my text messages sent on my iPhone don’t appear on my cellular iPad Pro nor my MacBook. iMessages are fine. Should I turn off RCS or end to end encryption (beta) ?
