Anyone in the house who did not provide aid should all be held to the same standard. They were part of the crime, they deserve the punishment for the crime.

Yeah, sentencing in UK can be annoying. Basically, there's absolutely no prison spaces left in the country, so a lot of serious crimes get pathetically low sentences

I cannot even imagine being in that situation, what a terrifying ordeal. Tbh the jump into the tree canopy alone takes courage (though I guess the adrenaline from getting kidnapped gets you far)

Lots of good reasons to shit on British police in general, but they handled this well.
Also I do appreciate how calm our arrests are. Maybe I watch too much Midwest Safety, but as soon as I saw the pick up truck I was expecting a 20 mile chase that results in 2 deaths

(Watching without sound) The architecture, cars, etc read as English … and then I scrubbed forward and see a police chase with a pickup truck, rural road, Brad’Lee Ranyard and Jackson Nicholson and assault rifle … shit took a real American turn there for a minute. I had to put the sound on to hear the cop’s voice.

The UK has firearm units. They're really only used in situations where someone may be dangerous or there's an actively dangerous situation. Kidnapping suspect probably qualifies as dangerous here.
