Germany has more castles than the United States has McDonald’s. This is the Eltz castle, located in Wiershem. It has been owned and occupied by the same family for 33 generations over 800 years

There is still one Roman family that traces its roots back to an actual senator of the Roman Empire, Quintus Fabius Maximus Verrucosus born in 280 BC. Just 2000 years later (1935 ) the head of the family was the cousin of Victor Emmanuel III of Savoy, King of Italy
