Rewatching for the first time in a long time and somehow I forgot about Walter's most diabolical creation - singing corpses.

I don't know if this is allowed. If it gets deleted, I understand and apologize.

I have two copies of September's Notebook. One is from the first extended run with the printed autographs - #1137 out of ~1200. But the other is from the very first printing, #174 of 265¹ with the real autographs.

Both copies were gifts, and letting them go is hard. But you gotta do what you gotta do. 😕

So it looks like the second one (1137) could theoretically go for anywhere between $75-$300 on eBay. But the first one, the OG...I can't find any history of listings at all. I know it's ultra rare, but I have no idea what I could realistically expect it to sell for. Has anyone ever seen one of these for sale in the wild? Or have any tips on how/where to list it? I've done eBay auctions for charity, but never for myself, and I have no street cred there.

I also have an insanely unique, full sized (not the quarter size that came with the books) piece of "amber" in a special collector box, and a piece of red Fringe Division Fringe Event tape that was used on set. No idea what those might be worth.

¹ This is a bit weird. The print on the card says 174 of 300, but the actual writing on the card says "of 265." As I recall, the first run was cut short for some reason.

I should say, I had seen the show when it was on but had stopped somewhere (end of season 3 I have now learned). I remembered that I really liked the Walter & Peter relationship. Which I maintain still is the best (and heart) of the show.

This maybe a hot take: I found it interesting that in season 1 Olivia is clearly supposed to be the main character. But the Walter & Peter relationship takes over (good thing) and honestly Peter is the main character. As his kidnapping is catalyst for the show. However, I found it funny that the each following season Peter would get an interesting storyline and then somewhere toward the back half of the season, Olivia suddenly gets pulled in. It is almost like the writers went "oh crap wasn't Olivia the main character". Nothing against the character, who actually grew on me a lot. But it was kind of annoying as it always goes that her powers (which they weren't consistent with) saving the day. This however, was done well at the end of season 4.

Season 5: I was disappointed when I realized that it was a time jump and that we'd follow it the whole season. It wasn't as terrible as I thought it would be. However, I feel like the season lost some of the best elements from the past seasons which is the real world stuff. Them just hanging out in the lab, a random family member visiting, etc.

Peter: I enjoyed the him "becoming" an observer storyline, but was a little disappointed when it was wrapped up so quickly. I can't help but wonder if this was due to the shorten season?

Astrid: I was disappointed she never got a centric episode. The best we got was a B story about her alternate losing her father. But a full episode would have been good.

Anyhow, I'm glad I finally finished this show.

There's a little thing John Noble does that I didn't notice the first time through. Whenever someone asks Walter something connected to Peter's childhood or his past, Walter will often look at Peter before he answers. Sometimes it's barely a glance. Knowing where that story goes makes those moments feel completely different because it looks less like Walter is remembering and more like he's checking what Peter knows.

On my rewatch, currently by season 2. I always find it amazing how the few seconds we see Walter reunited with his whole Brain (s2e10), he shows his real past self. An arrogant, agressive and potent scientist.

So different from the humble, fuzzy and addled Walter Bishop we get to know in the series.

In the same episode Ollivia says: I think getting crazy made him a better person.

Just recently finished rewatch number .... lost count 3 yrs ago. Ready to move on, find something interesting. But I just want Walter and Peter and Olivia and Astrid and... and... 😭 well, looks like flight 627 from Hamburg is going down.. again. ✈ 🦔

Any good viewing suggestion? I now know to keep a look out for an observer in every episode, and keeping track of Walters eating habits is weirdly fun for me, but any other suggestions?

Either what to look out for on a second watch. Or even your personal way to watch out of order? (The timeline stuff confuses me at the best of times, but I enjoy the ride) Or whatever

The music is excellent. I often wonder how the show was able to get the rights to so many great songs.

There are so many reasons I love Fringe.

One being my dad loves this show. He's not doing well.

So every time I watch I get emotional when Walter does because he reminds me of my dad (without the mad scientist part).

There's also the episode where Christopher Lloyd is in it, and Back To The Future is also something my dad and I love.

They find her just to lose her again

I was definitely expecting them to mess up somewhere and not give us a happy ending. But all good.

Peter's erasure from the timeline (but not for the people who loved him) is still the strangest thing about this entire series. They low-key retconned all that has happened in the first 3 seasons, all that we watched and remembered has actually happened differently or not happened at all... but then conveniently brought Olivia's and then Walter's memories about these events back.

I'm still mad about William Bell becoming an evil mastermind in this timeline - his previous role was more... noble, I'd say. Sacrificing himself twice - once to get the crew back to the Blueverse, the 2nd time when he willingly let go of Olivia's mind so that she could live. And now they tell me this hasn't happened, and instead he was the one who stood behind Jones, the evil genius who wanted to destroy both worlds and create one of his own? Pfft!

I liked Broyles in every timeline/universe. What a chad! Always loyal, always trustworthy and understanding. Astrid was phenomenal too - probably my favorite "not main" character. Although some would say she's a main, but she was always in background, providing Intel and support for the operation, not actually risking her life in the field like Peter, Olivia and Walter. Still, she's an invaluable member of the Fringe team and a cute girl too! In both verses, actually - although the "red" Astrid was more... how to put it? Constrained, tense, even walked a bit like a robot 😅

Olivia. Poor lady. She has endured so much pain, both physical and mental, in all the timelines/universes. I feel genuinely sorry for her. Seeing her and Peter kiss for the first time was a huge relief - and then they took it back by introducing Fauxlivia and making her sleep with Peter. Ouch. That was painful to watch. One thing I don't regret being retconned - it's better this never happened.

Peter. Honestly, I wasn't even expecting him to become a main character and join the team 😂 he was just a consultant at first and the only way to get to Walter. Crazy that he has become such a chad, a true hero, capable of time traveling (albeit when inside the machine) and of teleportation/future seeing. Kinda sad he took out the chip, it would've helped greatly during the final fight. Maybe even Donald/September would've survived (although his existence would still be erased after Walter traveled with the boy to the future).

I don't really wanna talk much about Walter. The man was the source of all the events in the show, basically, considering how his actions led to the conflict between the verses and all. Let's say I liked Walternate much better, because he at least was a man of cold logic, and of clear reason to act like he acted - unlike "our" blue-verse Walter, who was stoned or delirious more than he was sane and sober.

Overall, it's a good show, and I definitely recommend it to everyone who hasn't seen it yet - just gotta tell them to keep a notebook and a heap of napkins at the ready ;)

The funniest part isn't even that Broyles is tripping. It's that for a while he still seems determined to behave like he's at work. Everyone else is trying to deal with the situation and Broyles is standing there having a full-on existential experience while maintaining approximately 15% of his usual FBI seriousness. Lance Reddick playing Broyles like this feels illegal.

I always wished he had a bigger role in the series. Such an interesting character. Laid back with some Buddha-level knowledge.

I’m casually rewatching, it’s been a while but I’ve watched it a few times (although somehow I have never made it to the very end - I always quit mid season 5) and once again I am wondering why they gave Astrid so little development and time. She wasn’t a main protagonist like the Bishops and Olivia and even Broyles, but she was there from beginning to end and was at least as clever as the other characters. I know her alternate gets a lot of love for the brief time they appear so it just goes to show what the actor could have done with the material if given it. I read somewhere the Jasika Nicole didn’t have the best experience on set either.

This rewatch I've been playing my own version of "Spot the Observer." You may not know this but there is an observer in every single episode. It's not always September and some of them are near impossible to spot as it's just a quick glance. But they're there. I'm not always able to find them myself. So if you're rewatching, too, good luck!

Have you noticed that so far the bad guys are all too often blonde and blue eyed? I tend to notice bias in characters but this is the first anti-Arian note I have seen in thriller and mystery shows. To qualify as a bias it needs to be somewhat consistent. I am only in season 1 ep 8, but I will keep watching this space! Right now the head of the psychiatric institute is looking very sketch. Also John Scott. And the guy with the large creature in his chest who also turned out to be a double agent is also a blue eyed blond guy.

Glad he mellowed out in the following seasons, but man is he insufferable in the first one.

His skepticism is unreal.

He sees a man with translucent flesh, and clearly sees the type of work his father does, but always has some annoying quip about how "impossible" everything is.

Even if it sounded crazy, with everything that's happened, it would at least be worth considering.

Even Walter says, "Do you always have to be a little smartass!"

Lmao. I guess even the writers were becoming aware of how annoying he had become.
