Hey everyone! Sharing another Durham Dads Club activity coming up on Saturday, September 19.

This one is Dads & Doodles, a special dad edition of This Glass House’s Kids’ Arts & Crafternoon series, being held at Little Nest Montessori in Oshawa.

There’ll be hands-on art, sensory activities and creative stations for dads and kids to explore together.

Activities are best suited for roughly ages 3–10, but the age range is flexible.

Tickets are $25 for one child + adult, and $20 for each additional child.

I work for a local (Oshawa) business and we are looking to hire a graphic designer to join the team.

My boss asked me to try to find someone. We have worked with Fiverr before but we really would prefer to find someone local (Durham).

We are looking for someone with some experience as we don’t have the skill set to train someone on how to be a graphic designer but you will be given direction regarding the what we want. You won’t be left in your own! That being said, a student or someone retired or who has some extra time on their hands (I’m not sure hours but I’m going to say maybe 10 hours a week?) is ideal.

It would be possible to WFH but there is also an office space in downtown Oshawa.

Anyone know where I can start to look for someone? I mean this would be a great opportunity for a student at DC or any school who needs to build a portfolio.

I am looking for wrestling gym recommendations (Between Pickering and Bowmanville), I am mid 20s but have no experience. Every gym around seems to be BJJ which I will do if there is no other options but I’d much prefer wrestling.
I know there is team impact in Pickering but I don’t know if I want to be wrestling with 15 year olds
I would also like to know some prices if anyone knows anything. The websites don’t always show which can be frustrating.

I'm looking to join an 8 ball league in the area. I Googled some pool halls and there was almost no information online. I called one place and they said to call back during the day.

Pretty much what the title says.

We live in Oshawa and are going to Quebec City Nov 7-10. I wanted to drive on the 7th, spend 8th and 9th there, and drive back on the 10th but my wife thinks it will be too much of a drive, especially with our 4 year-old child.

So she wants to break the journey and stay the night in Montreal on the way there, and another place on the way back, extending the trip to the 11th.

It doesn't look too daunting tbh, 7.5 hours + maybe another hour or 2 with stops but still only 9-10 hours of travel time. I would much rather do it in one go.

I know teachers spend a lot of their own money/time getting supplies for their classes.

I’d like to put together a basket of items kids would use up through the year.

Any teachers/parents who can recommend items for JK/SrK class? Or even things a teacher would find useful for themself?

(I know gift cards are good too but that’s a gift that comes with an errand.)

Anyone know any good fence post repair companies? I think I need to replace 4-6 wood fence posts in my backyard as the fence is starting to lean. They are totally rotted out at the bottom so a simple repair doesn’t look like it will be enough. Also how much should I be looking to have to pay for this kind on thing?
