Discussion CV Review — DevSecOps / Cloud Security internship
I'm a student targeting DevSecOps / Cloud Security internship opportunities.
I've tried to position the CV around DevSecOps rather than generic DevOps or cybersecurity.
I'd appreciate feedback on:
- Is the DevSecOps positioning clear?
- Are the projects strong/relevant enough?
- Is the Skills section too crowded?
- Does anything look unnecessary or exaggerated?
- What would make you reject this CV at first glance?
- If you were a recruiter, what would make you reject this CV?
- What would you change first?
- - Is the CV ATS-friendly and likely to be parsed correctly by applicant tracking systems?

Imo, too wide on skill section.
Only write what you're really strong at and understand clearly, as you apply for an internship position, they won't expect you to know too much.
For example, if you know what options and how exactly you need to setup DAST to avoid unwanted actions, write it in.
Also DevOps is non-entry level, DevSecOps even worse (as in require even higher level), you might find a really hard time looking for a job on the field. You might want to look from another perspective, like maybe start with DevOps/BE/SysAdmin first

Let me tell you this, even if I think it's not so nice...
You are presenting an high tier knowledge to present for an entry level / internship role.
Exaggerating, let me out it this way: you are a law student applying to be Coubty judge... you are a 1 year service soldier applying to be an astronaut.
Everyone who sounds "big" is not someone right for an entry level role. Not a single company would hire you to put their most critical stuff in your hands..
DevSecOps, like DevOps is already a very specific activity where 90% of the companies are looking for a geek guy that covers IT....
Start applying for low level IT stuff, trust me, you will get money fast. Then you will scale inside or outside rhe company to get to ypur real role..
Take me as an example.. i had no degree, but i was good at what i do, at least better than major part of students with ansolute zero hands on experienxe asking for top admin positions 😂 so I started with a job as "random geek for a micro company", they didn't know a thing about computers, but I managers a cluster for several years, their machines, all IT stuff.. then a company knew of me and I did sysadmin for a long time for them.. now I work as devops engineer and ai specialist for a company that pays around triple the base pay in my country, doing what people think they want to do the next month they get a degree.
We tried ONE single time to acquire an internship from a profile like yours.. he barely knew how to turn on a pc and i'm not joking.
Remember that if you insisst enough (PREFER STARTUPS, there is very low to zero chances im big companies to get a job like this) someone will hire you, and you will be put to work on serious stuff where mistakes a are pretty unacepted, so be extra aware of what you really want and how to get it.
Just to add to this, very often companies don't really know these differences unless someone ecplain them.. so you risk to get to a topmposition with a pay of a normal ticket it guy, that's frustrating, but note this: we are all normal IT ticket guys, only woth lottle differences...
