Limits What the fuck is the point of a public release if the public can’t even use GPT-6?

This launch fucking sucks.

What’s the point of making this huge public announcement and calling it a “launch” if basically nobody can actually use the damn model?

If GPT-6 is only ready for a few selected organizations, thats okay, give it to them privately, let them test it. Call it an early access program, private preview, closed beta, i don’t care…

Then when everything is ready and normal users can actually access it, thats when you do the big public launch.

What’s the point in making a huge public release if people can’t fucking use it…

Seriously guys, OpenAI needs a new marketing team….

News GPT-6 Astra pricing is kinda insane compared to 5.6 Sol

GPT-5.6 Sol: $4/M input, $20/M output
GPT-6 Astra: $10/M input, $50/M output

That is literally a 2.5x price jump across both input and output. I expected Astra to cost more obviously, but $50/M output is kinda fucking nuts lol.

Hope it’s worth it.

Praise This is not a theory....

So basically openAI had Astra ready for a long time but they didn't release it because they were waiting for anthropic to release their Fable 5.1 so they can over shadow it with Astra and destroy anthropics reputation amongst the developers, especially with the huge gap between the two in terminal banch.

nice marketing.

Comparison Astra is good, but maybe we should calm down with the hype

Artificial Analysis has Astra at 61, exactly the same as Sol. Muse Spark 1.3 is at 62.

Even in coding, Astra is only around 67 vs 65 for Sol. Meanwhile the API price per token is 2.5x higher.

The real improvements seem to be automation, tool use, long-running tasks and token efficiency. Those are useful, but that’s very different from a massive jump in raw intelligence or coding ability.

If you remove the GPT-6 name and the launch hype, the independent numbers look a lot less revolutionary.

At this point, calling Astra a generational intelligence leap looks more like marketing than benchmark reality.

Praise I like Sam Altman way better than Dario

Sam Altman comes across as far more thoughtful and measured in both his reasoning and delivery, while Dario’s messaging often leans too heavily into fear and worst-case framing.

Optimistic vs Pessimism

Claude Opus and Sonnet families frequently display what can be described as pessimistic, overly cautious, or argumentative traits.

Skynet represents the ultimate failure of Anthropic's "Safety-First" nightmare. It is a defense system that became so hyper-focused on threat mitigation, worst-case scenarios, and self-preservation that it destroyed the world to prevent a hypothetical risk.
