Mental Health Admitting myself to ER in morning due to PPD

9 months postpartum (if it's even called that lol) and haven't been doing well for months. Really don't know what else left to do. Grandparents coming over in the morning to watch the baby, and husband is leaving for work early to drop me off and stay for just a couple minutes. He got a new job so he can't really afford to take the random day off, and I'll be alright probably.

I'm so nervous and scared. No idea what to expect at all. Really hoping I'm not waiting for 10 hours without my phone at some point. I'm really hoping it'll be for the better. Just wanted to share this

Relationship Is it PPD or do I need to consider separation?

4mo PP as a FTM here. I (30F) and my husband (30M) have been at odds basically since the birth of our daughter. We planned her. We had the “perfect” marriage (I know perfect doesn’t exist, but let’s say we were pretty damn close, and made everyone jealous). We communicated so well, romanced each other, cherished each other, and were best friends from day 1. We had our issues but we always prioritized our relationship over the problem, and decided to fight the issues as a couple instead of fight each other. We did pretty well for a long time. I was new to the state when we met, so he’s been a bit of a financial foundation for me since we started dating, I hate to admit it. I was in nursing school when we found out I was pregnant. Planned to defer half the schooling and finish again when LO had grown to 9 months and fall term started again.

I think he had worse PPD than I did when we got home. I was sleep deprived, desperately trying to breastfeed a baby with CMPA and reflux (issues now resolved……somewhat), hallucinating, and struggling massively with my OCD mixing with PPA. Every day was a battle. And his temper got worse. There were times that were completely unacceptable; he’d always had a bit of a leashed temper (usually game related and wasn’t a problem in our relationship) but then the baby crying got to him. There were instances of him screaming at the dog while holding the baby, kicking our dog while holding the baby, and aggressively sitting the baby across his knee to rip off a shirt when she spit up on it. I was appalled and furious. We’d never fought before, but I told him that if he ever did anything like those things again, I would leave and take his daughter with me because I refused to raise her in a house of anger. I grew up in an abusive household, so I’ve made this clear time and time and time again. And his anger got better. If you count constantly living in headphones so you don’t hear the baby crying or your wife talking.

Heavy sleeper, he doesn’t help overnight with the baby. He’s also the only one working right now (re: nursing school debacle). Since he wakes at 3am for work and gets home at 1pm, I generally let him sleep at night. Not that he’d wake up anyway unless I actually shove him out of bed. So I handle her overnight (newborn stage was rough), he went back to work like 2 months ago, his PPD got better, mine flared. My PPA is debilitating. My daughter has swallowing issues and I’ve had to ride in an ambulance with her to children’s hospitals. He either sleeps through her health emergencies or isn’t there. When we have appointments, he can barely answer questions about her. I have to “pop quiz” him on formula rules and her feeding specifics to make sure he doesn’t cause some other health emergency. He used to sit on his phone while having her constantly, but I’ve nagged him to pieces about it because it’s so damaging for her, now I’d say he does it like 40% of the time. When I’m home to see it, anyway. We’re 4 months in and I’m still having to fix the car seat straps when he loads her up and make sure she’s not wearing a blanket in the car when it’s 104 degrees on the windshield.

I’ve had 2 friends visit me since LO was born, because again, I’m not from here. The only people I have here are my parents and brother, and like, one friend that I met through my husband. He has his entire family and friends and everyone he’s met since he was born. Yet somehow it’s always myself and my mother raising my daughter. My two friends expressed severe concern for my mental health seeing as how I also have a history of hospitalization and depression. My mom worries herself into exhaustion and has her own things going on, she’s a caretaker for my brother and my dad. And when I make comments like “well I haven’t eaten yet,” or “I don’t remember my last shower,” or, “I need to brush my teeth, it’s been days,” I’m always met with this exasperated look of disappointment and “BABE, you need to take care of yourself.” We argue now. He says he’s terrified for me, not disappointed. But does little to nothing to help. And every time I hand off the baby, he’s frustrated within minutes, closing his eyes and breathing through his nose, shoving in earbuds, and just letting her cry. I’ve begged him not to co sleep with her, because he’s almost 300lbs and the heaviest sleeper. But I found a pacifier in the bed yesterday, and he admitted to doing it when I was only gone a few hours. Ffwd to today, and I realize how much tequila is missing from his bottle. I ask him how much he’s had while he’s watched her the last 2 days, only in short spurts, and he fumbled around for an answer when I caught him in a lie. So not only is he co sleeping, he’s drinking while doing it, and then hiding it. And when confronted, he just says “sorry I’m a piece of shit.”

I don’t know what to do anymore. I can’t rely on my parents to help me raise this baby as much as they’d allow it. They’re financially so bad off, they can’t take us in. I cancelled my trip to my hometown next week, the one I’ve been planning for months, because I’m terrified to leave her in his care. Part of me wants to just pack up a load of her stuff and drive to Galveston or something and get away for a few days without telling him, but I don’t know if that’s legal in Texas even though we’re married. I don’t know. I just don’t know what to do anymore. I need advice.

Rant/Rave “why don’t you just quit your job”

i went back to work this week from maternity leave and my husband and i are sending our daughter to daycare starting october. recently i confided in a few people about how the thought of sending my daughter to daycare at 4 months old made me emotional and the thought of not having her home with me made me really sad. i know that it will be good for her development and needed for me so i can focus on work. almost every single person responded with:

“why don’t you just quit your job?”

as if that’s a helpful response.

1. if i wanted to quit my job, i simply would have by now?

2. i hate that people just assume that my income isn’t contributing to the household. i don’t make that much less than my husband so we would be losing close to 50% of our income if i quit. we live a lifestyle that we don’t want to adjust and that shouldn’t be looked down upon.

3. i like my job and i wouldn’t be able to just quit and come back. it’s a 1/1 job at my company and would be easily filled. i worked hard to get where i am.

anyway, i just needed to rant. the solution to woman having emotions about returning from maternity leave and daycare shouldn’t always be met with “just quit your job”. 😒

Rant/Rave I had one baby, why am I taking care of two (dad)?

Why is he falling apart NOW of all times? I love my partner and he’s a very thoughtful, helpful person but omg. I didn’t know postpartum anxiety and depression was a thing for the non-birthing partner.
We’re 5 months into this and we have the world’s easiest baby. He sleeps pretty much all night, he’s chill and happy all day, and he only cries when he’s overtired or teething. We have even had tons of support from friends and family.
But ever since my baby was born, my partner is an emotional wreck. We’ll be packing the car to go home from a trip and I turn around - he’s sobbing and saying he loves me. I’m in the middle of eating and he grabs my hand in tears. I go to wash my hands after changing a poopy diaper and he stops me to give him a hug.
I can’t take it anymore. I am the one who had an urgent c-section, I am the one who has to work (at home). He doesn’t work because he’s on disability, but physically he can do any childcare necessary.
So I have to work, I have to take care of the baby, and he takes naps and cries and plays video games or scrolls on his phone and then calls his mom to come help me.
I’m trying to be understanding but I honestly don’t understand how he is an emotional wreck all of a sudden. It feels like he’s calling in sick to being a parent. Just cooking a meal and doing some laundry is too much for him.
We planned this baby because he would be able to help me take care of it while I work. But now I feel like a single mom with a baby and a giant toddler who needs my reassurance every 5 mins or he’ll cry.
Is this what happens to all dads when their baby is born? Why do men fall apart right when the women in their lives most need them to be ok? I don’t need him to help me, I just need him to not need me right now.

Discussion I thought I wanted a big family?

I’ve always dreamed about having kids. It’s something I’ve always wanted. In my mind I wanted 2 or 3 kids. Well when we first started TTC I had multiple losses, and it took three years for one to stick. Well our little rainbow baby has just arrived in July and I am SUFFERING. I seriously feel like postpartum is torture. It has affected my partner significantly as well. My delivery was unremarkable, however our baby had to spend about a week and a half in the NICU which gave us a bit of trauma for sure. My husband so much so that he didn’t eat really anything the first couple weeks from stress. And almost had to be hospitalized himself because he wasn’t eating born so weak.

We both at one point looked at each other after a long witching hour and said we never wanted to go through this again. I really don’t, it’s been so damn hard and the end of this difficult time is probably at the very least 6 months away if not more and that just makes me spiral. But it also makes me so depressed thinking that this is it. It’s like my dream of a big family has died. We talked about a vasectomy, but it just feels so final. But I genuinely don’t know if I could survive another postpartum…

I guess I’m just looking for similar stories where parents found peace with just one baby. Or happy stories of second babies after the first was absolutely awful

Discussion Anyone else realizing some uncomfortable things about your own parents?

Creeping up on 1y postpartum (yay!) and I guess I’m fortunate that my parents are making the effort to be the best grandparents they can be. But there have been moments that just made me go, wait………what?! and reflect on my own childhood…

For one, they keep “casually” bringing up how I used to have one of those baby walkers with seats, despite me repeatedly telling them why those aren’t recommended anymore. During one of those conversations I suddenly remembered how I used to get laughed at in preschool for walking weird (I used to sort of bounce around on my tiptoes when I got excited). I wondered aloud whether the baby walker had anything to do with it, and my parents got all defensive and said everyone used those walkers back in the day. Okay then 🤷🏻‍♀️

Another thing is the desperate begging/borderline force-feeding my mom does to try and get LO to finish the food she prepared. I step in whenever I see that happening and also try not to dwell on my own love-hate relationship with food…don’t wanna open that can of worms.

The thing that really took the prize is when my dad casually mentioned that I should keep a record of all the tough nights where LO keeps waking up and needs me to nurse or rock her back to sleep. At first I was like, oh like for a data analysis sort of thing? Cool. Dad was like, no, you need to make sure your kid knows how difficult she was so that she knows to appreciate you more. Basically remind her about it every chance you get.

I legit paused for a few seconds at that. Dad noticed my face and asked what was up. I couldn’t find the words. Like there was literally this sudden gush of realization that I could’ve found the root cause of all my ISSUES ^TM. I awkwardly let him know that, no, I don’t think it’s a good idea to constantly guilt-trip my daughter like that. He just shrugged and went on with his day.

So here I am a couple weeks later writing this post. Still kind of in disbelief. I guess I am really slow at realizing some things. Can anyone else relate? 😬

Happy! Loving my body

I’ve heard so many stories of people who are feeling upset about their body after giving birth, the belly flab, the stretch marks etc. A few of my friends are also in this same mind set after giving birth.

I have always struggled with my body image but right now it’s completely different.

I am 8 days post partum for an emergency c section. I have a painful wound, I’m bleeding into adult diapers daily, my belly looks like a deflated tire and my breasts are so lopsided I feel like I’m off balance.

And I have never loved my body more.

It is this body that made the most amazing little person that is sleeping right in front of me at this very moment. This body that grew him, protected him, and warned me when something was wrong and saved his life.

It sounds so weird but I want to celebrate this body. I feel so silly for being so self conscious about my body image previously. I don’t care what other people think or expect of me for postpartum recovery. I am so happy.

Baby Sleep - all input welcomed Baby waking up and staying up for hours at night

Upvotes

As of recently, my 8 month old baby has been waking up around 1am and staying up until 5am. I work late night shifts so this is so draining mentally and physically. I’m so sleep deprived that i always feel like fainting. I can’t keep doing this what did you guys do that helped. I play white noise, i stay in a dark room and dont play with her. It’s 3:30am, i got off of work at 1am and last night i got off at 2am and she was up until 5am. Im just so tired and i just want to smoke a joint and enjoy some food at night but i cant because i dont like being high when she’s awake. Please, nighttime is the only time i get alone time. I am genuinely exhausted and i regret having my baby i just want to sleep and not worry or stress out about anything ALSO she is clearly tired because she yawns, rubs her face, pulls her hair, etc. SHE JUST WONT SLEEP

Discussion What does a realistic day in your life look like?

Im a FTM and my baby is currently a week away from 4 months old and I’m curious what other parents are doing in their day to day. Looking for suggestions to keep baby entertained and things to look forward to as baby grows up. Her wake windows are getting longer and I’m not sure what to do with her

Our day usually looks like:

We wake up anytime between 6-8am. Dad does a diaper change, and she’ll have a feed and then she goes back to sleep till around 12pm. I try to eat breakfast while she plays, and then we’ll go for a ~40min walk around the park with the dog. Usually we go back to bed for another contact nap, sometimes I’ll fold laundry with her hanging out on the bed, sometimes a friend will come over. Dad comes home from work and we visit the in laws, sometimes leave her to do groceries or go on date night. Walk her and the dog again in the evenings and then wind down starts at 8pm. It consists of either a bath or a wipe down, playing, tummy time, and reading a book, and then she’ll sleep from 10-4 wake up for a feed, back to sleep, and repeat.

Playing usually means she’s on her Fischer price piano mat, or we’re looking in the mirror, or talking just talking to each other lol

Discussion Being shamed for being a boy mom

I’m 8 months PP and initially I really wanted a girl and I still hope my second is a girl! but I got a boy first and I really, really love him and adore him. He’s my little baby! These 8 months have been so precious with him.

But I feel like I’m never allowed to mention I adore him or love him.

For example my husband’s cousin was blessed with two daughters. When I met her for the first time she said “did you want a boy?” And I said “I wanted a girl but he’s so precious and I can’t imagine anything else right now. Maybe next time” and she said “I can’t imagine having a boy. I’m so lucky I got two girls, I don’t even want to try again because there’s a chance for a boy”.

I felt so hurt. She kept saying how precious her kids are and she can’t wait to have a great relationship with her and her grandkids and I felt like if I said the same about my son then I would be labelled the crazy “boy mom” which I really am not. But I do love my son, of course I want to be a part of his and his wife’s life in the future and offer my support when they have kids.

I also see all these comments and videos on TikTok where people say they love their daughters and their perfect but when a mom writes about her son, there are mean comments about her being a “typical boy mom” or “weird”.

When I was freshly post partum going to an appointment and my son was in the infant car seat and covered, someone asked me if it was a boy or girl and I said “it’s a little boy” and they said “oh I’m sorry. Maybe next time!” (She had 2 daughters with her). This made me cry.

It’s made me unable to love my son out loud in a healthy way. I’m not obsessed in an unhealthy way like I agree some weird boy moms are, but I feel like my interaction with people and even in family i can’t say “he’s perfect” or “I love him so much”, especially in front of my husband’s cousins.

I constantly see this boy mom hate in TikTok and it’s made me feel like I have to be embarrassed to have a son.

Another thing I’ve noticed is that there’s this thing where girl moms say they will be in contact with the kids and their daughter’s husband but the boy mom’s have to “earn” the right to be a part of their son’s lives and grandkids lives. I understand and know you need to be healthy and understand boundaries to keep relationships and be a part of our children’s lives but it feels like no matter how good of a MIL I am in the future I will feel like I will not be allowed to want to be in contact with my son or grandkids but girl moms don’t have to “prove” themselves?

It just makes me so anxious and upset because I have not been able to enjoy having a son. I love him and that’s what I got, his gender was out of my control but regardless of his gender I’m his mom and I love him but all these comments, videos and interactions have truly made me embarrassed to love my son out loud.

Edit:

I want to thank everyone that took the time to respond. It felt relieving to get my feelings off my chest and vent it out and see what everyone had to say. I’m sorry I’m not able to respond to everyone individually because of the amount of comments, but I do want to share this.

I hear all the loving and gentle advice that I need to either detox myself from social media or cleanse my algorithm. Thank you for this advice and this is really the push I needed. I think a lot of these feelings originate and stem from the social media community and comments and videos I’m seeing. So I’ll be definitely taking the step to do that for myself, my son and my family.

Secondly, I’ve received some comments mentioning I made another woman’s (my husband’s cousin’s) preference about myself and took it personally. I do want to say there’s nothing wrong with having a preference, everyone has one.
Her tone, body language and the fact it was the very first time we ever met or had a conversation is what made me feel the way it did. I myself prefer having daughters but I don’t think I would ever say that to someone who has only boys but wants a daughter?

I believe it’s a more “read the room” situation. If someone has something YOU wouldn’t ever want, you aren’t typically supposed to out right state that in the first interaction you ever have with them. I’m not trying to make it about myself. I’m just sharing how it made me feel. I never shared this with even my husband because I DID NOT want to make it about myself.

I had some comments stating that girls have always suffered and that this is a “non problem” and I don’t deny that whatsoever. I, myself, am a woman, a daughter, now a mother. I know girls and women have always had it very difficult for plethora of reasons and this post was not to challenge that. This post was me sharing my feelings, post partum, my depression and anxiety, everything in a group of parents that may or may not feel the same or had the same experiences or thoughts.

I do love my son in a healthy, non toxic way. I want to love him out loud and shamelessly. I hear everyone’s advice and gentle pushing to take better care of my mental health and not worry what others say so I genuinely thank each and every one of you for the time you took to help me. Sometimes it’s easier to hear it from strangers. Thank you all and I really, really needed the support and love.

I will give my little boy an extra hug and snuggle tonight 🩵

Discussion Does anyone else feel constantly dismissed as a mother?

Maybe this is controversial, I have no idea. I’m sure there will be a number of comments telling me I’m insecure and overthinking things, because it’s Reddit haha.

But other moms: do you y’all ever feel totally dismissed as it pertains to your relationship or attachment with your baby? Today my sitter came by and my two year old really protested her. He was clinging to me a lot, crying hard, rejecting her and it was just overall a tough separation. I’m 7 months pregnant and he’s been very attached and clingy to me lately, so I wasn’t super shocked. But I think maybe my sitter was upset as they’ve known each other for a year now (they see each other once a week) and he typically doesn’t react this way. When I got home she told me it was hard for him to settle for awhile but went on and on about how he wasn’t crying because of her (which I didn’t think he was) and how he was clinging to her, and not upset by her at all. I told her it’s totally fine, he was just sensitive today and he’s going through a mommy phase. She then spent the next ten minutes saying he wasn’t asking me about at all, only dad (which I can underhand as he loves his dad) and how he wasn’t upset because I left. the whole thing just felt forced as I wasn’t asking tbh - I’m only interested in him and how his day went. Also I have access to the camera in the kitchen on my phone, and he was standing by the door crying “mama”. So it felt weird she was saying that.

It just made me reflect on how often we do this to mothers. Downplay their roles or importance. When my son was an infant (EBF), if he would ask for me or cry me, people would often say “it’s only because you’re nursing” or “he just wants milk”. Like as if a mother couldn’t have value beyond that? My MIL is famous for saying “he didn’t ask about you at all” every time she’s ever babysat him, even if I didn’t ask. If he clings to dad, people celebrate dad for being awesome. If he clings to mom, then something must be wrong. Must be because mom is weaker or more permissive, or there must be A REASON for it.

Overall I just find that people will often downplay or disregard my son’s connection or try to explain it away. And I don’t think this is unique. I feel like a lot of people will attempt to minimise a mother’s importance in order to elevate their own? The reason it bothers me is that I don’t need other people to validate that my son loves me, but I also don’t need people going out of their way to try to convince me that I’m not important.

Any other moms feel this way?

Relationship Struggling with marriage 1 year later

Anyone else had a baby and realized you may have married the wrong person? Almost 12 months in and the conflicts and resentment just keep building. Becoming a parent with someone is like suddenly being thrown into a big group project and realizing you have very different working styles. Or maybe you knew about these differences all along but never had to confront or deal with them because you’d each done your own thing and led fairly independent lives. But now, you can’t.

We have talks but nothing changes. I’m physically and also emotionally tired. I feel frustrated and disappointed by many aspects of our parenting relationship. Would love to hear other people’s experiences. Does it get better?

Discussion How long did it take you to get pregnant with baby #2?

Hello! My husband and I have decided to start trying for baby #2 this month. Our first baby is 18 months old. I know it all depends on the person but I'm just curious as to how long it took other people to get pregnant with baby #2. For reference I'm 29 and it took about 4 months of trying / tracking ovulation for me to get pregnant with our first.

Sad My baby has reached a new low with his feeding and I want to give up

My baby has struggled with eating literally since the day he was born. He never latched onto me and I had to stop breastfeeding at 5 weeks because he was rapidly losing weight. Even after switching to formula he struggled every single feed, choking, gasping, gulping, arching, screaming and crying. Every. Single. Time. I literally felt like I was in hell being tortured. We tried so many different bottles and nipples flows, nothing helped.

As a very last resort, we syringe fed him for a while but he still wasn't gaining. At five weeks he got hospitalized because he wasn't gaining and he nearly suffocated while eating. We met with two feeding therapists that told us he looks perfect and they didnt know what was wrong with him. No tongue tie or lip tie. His pediatrician said it was just reflux and "all babies have reflux" so he wasn't concerned.

We literally spent thousands on different bottles, nipples, formulas, medicines, supplements in just two months.

At 8 weeks, we moved to another city and got a new pediatrician who FINALLY took us seriously. He got a cmpa diagnosis. We started the new formula and while he wasn't eating as much as he should he was eating SO much more. Finally, I could feed him without him crying. He started gaining weight normally and acting like a normal baby. After a few weeks, he started eating the right amount for his age, sometimes even a little more.

And then at 17 weeks he stopped eating for anyone but me. Even with me, he fought and cried and pulled away. On Monday, he got his vaccines and now he wont eat at all. He quickly ramped down until today, three days later, he refused to take a bottle at all. By 1pm he had only taken 4oz since 9pm the night before. So I take him to the ER and waited 7 hours just to be told it's normal because he just got his vaccines.

I brought him to my in laws house, gave him to my mil and completely broke down. She managed to get him to eat 4oz over the course of an hour. We even brought his great grandma over, my grandma, because she's a nurse and she didn't know whats wrong with him either. He's acting completely normally, so happy and smiley but he WON'T EAT.

I called his pediatrician and they want us to take him in tomorrow. They said if we can't get him to eat somehow they're going to have to hospitalize him before he gets too dehydrated. I seriously don't know what to do with him. I love him so much but he feels like a punishment sometimes. I just want him to be healthy and nothing I do is good enough to fix him. No one can tell me what is wrong with him

Postpartum Recovery Postpartum gain weight

Upvotes

I gained 30lbs in my pregnancy. Immediately after birth (within 1 week) I lost about 10lbs, and have since did not lose any and I started to notice Im gaining again. I’m 2 weeks postpartum just now and read lots of stories of people who lost 10-20lbs in the first few months, and I just feel like I’m fat and only getting fatter?

Im not eating too much but not restricting either.

Baby Sleep - all input welcomed Baby cries when waking from every sleep

Upvotes

My 10 month old is a big crier, has been from the beginning! For as long as I can remember, she has cried every single time she wakes from night sleep or any nap. Is it possible she’s afraid of the dark? The only time she didn’t sit up and cry was when we were on vacation and cosleeping, and the room wasn’t super dark in the morning. But we also coslept at home for a bit after that and she cried every time she woke up in the morning. She’s back in her crib and continues the crying- even when I pick her up it takes her awhile to stop. Anyone else experience this?

Recommendations Family vacation recommendations

My husband and I haven't had a vacation without his work ever. Even our wedding vacation had his work. My baby moon had his work. That being said I appreciate him more than words can say. Finally he says he will take us on a long family vacation without any work as he also needs a break. We are first time parents and I want to take our baby somewhere she can really enjoy too. I know she won't remember but I will remember her enjoying it.

Postpartum Recovery No breastfeeding, still no period?

Upvotes

Hi everyone. EFF since birth here and my period is still nowhere to be seen 6 months after giving birth. Has this happened to any of you ? If yes what were the causes? I’m starting to get worried here and my doctors appointment is in 2 weeks. My husband and I would love to be able to give our first baby a sibling sooner rather than later. Thank you!!

Discussion My 13m old is starting daycare part time on Tuesday. Anything I should know? Or anything I need to tell them?

I’m pretty anxious about it. It’s tough that he can’t talk yet so I won’t know if he will hate it. But he absolutely had the best time on our tour, so it felt like he was ready.

I already warned them that he takes an iron supplement and has horrifying black poops. I had to buy him shoes since we have been almost strictly shoeless so far because i don’t want to mess with his foot development.

How many diapers should we pack? He’s currently breast fed and I’m on a break from work so I haven’t pumped in a while, but is it worth pumping and sending him with a bottle for lunch? How did your little adjust to daycare around this age?

We only live three blocks away and it’s only half days two days a week. I asked the center director how soon we could expect to get sick and she said two weeks.

My 8 month old is amazing but she is suddenly so wiggly and such a handful. I'm seriously just here to complain about how much I AM IN PAIN.

She pulls my hair. She pinches my skin as hard as she can in her fist. She chomps on me with her hard little gums. She gobbles my face. She kicks me in the eye. She writhes and arches her back and slams her head into my skull and against my teeth.

She hurts herself so much too, just from seemingly nowhere. I'm lying on the bed with her, not a hard corner in sight, and she throws herself at my hand and somehow jams my thumbnail into her eye. She climbs up the pillow and bangs her face against the wall. She throws her head back onto my skull and cries.

Obviously none of this is even going into the bodily pain I have from pregnancy, birth, breastfeeding, and carrying and wrangling her.

I am well aware this is just the beginning as she becomes more active, but I really miss my little potato baby right now.

Discussion Does anyone else end up moving their baby swing from room to room all day?

Just wanna say my baby isn't in her swing for hours or anything lol. We mostly use it when we need a few minutes to get stuff done that we can't really do while holding her. I just went back to work, and luckily my mom lives close enough to watch my 4-month-old during the day. It's been a huge help, but she pointed something out the other day that I
hadn't even thought about.

She ends up moving our baby's swing around the house quite a bit. It'll start in the living room, then end up in the kitchen while she's making lunch, and somehow make its way upstairs later. My daughter just seems happier when she can see whoever's with her.

The only problem is our swing is pretty bulky, so she keeps having to drag it around. I honestly never realized how often we'd move it. I joke that it's become part of her daily workout lol.

Does anyone else do this, or does your swing pretty much stay in one spot?
