Announcement Rule change: No AI-generated art (Rule 5)

While human-made art is both welcomed and encouraged, AI art generation tools are becoming increasingly accessible to everyone. AI-generated art requires little to no effort to create and it can easily overrun a subreddit. Going forward it will no longer be allowed. Please use the report button if you see any.

EDIT: This has been expanded to include all AI content, as reflected in our rules.

No Body calls me chicken

Random thought but probably not an original one. Longtime BttF fan. Anyway I wonder if the whole “Don’t call me chicken” thing is a result of the changes to his family after the events of the first movie. Marty doesn’t really get a chance to catch his breath in this trilogy so he never personally addresses whether he is aware of the changes in his own life but it’s interesting that it doesn’t come up until the second movie(putting aside writing decisions and the fact that it was originally a stand alone movie )

How would you describe the Doc/Marty friendship?

Over the past some 30 years, I never gave it much thought. An old scientist, a teenager with free time, the friendship probably starting over Doc needing a cheap assistant and Marty getting to screw around with Doc's wacky stuff. I like this as the backstory. Anyway. In my 40's, and because of Rick and Morty, it's kind of wholesome to look at Doc and Marty as surrogate grandpa/grandson. Wha do y'all think?

I have a question to This scene

Post image
190 Upvotes

So as we know Marty Starts to disappear in this scene because George didint Kiss lorraine, however he does a few seconds later. So my question is why Marty Starts to disappear because in Order for him to disappear it should have Never come to the scene where George kisses lorraine without martys help. Now if we would say that he Starts to disappear when the Future Isint sure that it is going to Happen that Marty is Born, he should have started to disappear as soon Lorraine had a crush on him.

Thomas Fahmy was struck by lightning near his Staten Island home while walking to a dentist appointment. He said it was a weird sensation and he's happy to be alive.

Was he hit by a 1.21 gigawatts and charge the flux capacitor??

P.S.: The guy is fine.

P.S. 2: It's like I said, the Delorean could go on a rainy day on a road to attract a lightning in case they missed the lighting of the Clock Tower.

The way Doc and Marty so nonchalantly dump a womans body in an alleyway while holding on a polite conversation kinda leads me to believe they may have done it before. Marty was only concerned about whether he became a rock star.

Doc, Mr. Peabody, and 2015 Biff

I was wondering a few things...

https://backtothefuture.fandom.com/wiki/Otis_Peabody

https://backtothefuture.fandom.com/wiki/Back_to_the_Future_Part_II_novelization

"In a deleted scene from Back to the Future Part II, which was reinstated by Craig Shaw Gardner for the novelization, after having narrowly avoided coming face-to-face with his younger 1955 self in Courthouse Square, Doc came across Peabody and a police officer near the Lyon Estates billboard where the DeLorean time machine is hidden."

You can see the two pictures in those links:

The first:

https://www.reddit.com/r/BacktotheFuture/comments/1lezen7/old_man_peabody_in_the_2nd_movie/

The second:

https://www.facebook.com/groups/1223221475283968/posts/1712465743026203/

Mr. Peabody thought the time machine was a flying saucer. This scene would explain as to why the Time Machine circuits were playing up as Doc is trying to take off and gets caught on the Lyon estate sign with the flags caught on the Time Machine.

Didn't Peabody shoot Doc's car from PART 2? Not just trying to hit Marty in the 1st.

This scene was never released anywhere, so can we assume it's lost in the Universal archives? Has it been destroyed? I wonder if there's a chance, because after more than 3 decades someone put a workprint (?) from Superman IV: The Quest for Peace (1987), a scene from The Metro Club date between Clark and Lacy Warfield, and Nuclear Man 1's first public appearance.

https://www.reddit.com/r/lostmedia/comments/1riygvh/found_new_deleted_scene_of_superman_iv_the_quest/

This is even older than parts 2-3 (1989-1990), only surfaced online a year or so, and during all this time it has been assumed the negatives were destroyed or lost.

They already have filmed material from 1985 (the 1st film) with Eric Stoltz (and from what I read, lots of it), not just that brief clip in a BTTF bonus feature and multiple photos available before that (with Eric and a few of the cast).

So can we guess such scene was filmed and was either 1) Destroyed, or 2) It's somewhere in the vault, not released because they didn't bother to restore it, or 3) Nowhere to be found, yet still exists. I guess Superman IV fits #3, but it's also likely #2, because there's more Superman material never released, and some were only made available a few years ago (like the 3h cut from the 1978 movie).

ANOTHER POINT I need to make:

https://backtothefuture.fandom.com/wiki/Back_to_the_Future_timeline

In Timeline 4, OLD BIFF from 2015 arrives at November 12, 1955, 1:40 p.m., and after hiding the DeLorean in an undetermined location, he then ventures into town to locate his younger self.

6:38 p.m. Old Biff departs 1955 to return the DeLorean undetected, not realizing his younger self might eventually lose the almanac.

In this timeline, there are no flying cars, and that Mr. Peabody and Doc scene never happened, because this is the 1st film we are talking about.

We SKIP to Timeline 6:

- 6:00 a.m. Doc and Marty arrive from 1985 (Timeline 5) in a DeLorean technologically improved than the one (with depleted plutonium) in which the younger Marty has already arrived (Timeline 2). Doc advises Marty against interfering with young Biff's initial acquisition of the almanac, so that old Biff will return the DeLorean to 2015 thinking he's succeeded.

This is the moment when Doc and Marty (in the 2nd film) arrive from 1985-ALTERNATE to the original 1955, where OLD BIFF from 2015 is actually delivering the book. He would be arriving later, at 1:40 p.m. (as I established).

Can we say at that moment or during Doc's flying with the Delorean to meet Marty later that day, the scene with Old Peabody happened? Could the latter have also seen OLD BIFF with the flying car, so that's why he went crazy?

But if that's the case, then why that happened only 1 day after November 5, 1955 (the 1st movie event), as described below, and not after Nov 12, 1955?

Let's read the WIKI entry:

+++++++

On the morning of November 5, 1955, Peabody's son Sherman, who read science fiction magazines, mistook the DeLorean time machine for a hostile craft from outer space. Peabody, along with his wife Elsie and daughter Martha, were convinced that they were under attack. Otis fled back inside, grabbed a shotgun and promptly fired at Marty, under the impression that he was an alien disguised as a human.

Marty McFly escaped from the ranch in the DeLorean, inadvertently destroying one of Otis's two prize saplings with which he had hoped to start his pine breeding ranch. After destroying his mailbox while firing after the car, Peabody reported it to the police, who believed him to be insane and sent him to the County Asylum the next day.

Eventually, his children leased the land to a real estate developer to build a mall. As a result of Marty's actions, the mall was now named the "Lone Pine Mall" in the revised timeline, since there was now just one pine.

Before being converted into a ranch for breeding pine trees, the ranch was apparently a regular farm. In Back to the Future: The Game by Telltale Games, a crate marked "Peabody Farms" can be seen in the flatbed of a truck driven by young Emmett Brown in the year 1931. Another crate, or possibly even the same one, could be seen at Doc's garage sale in the year 1986.

+++++++

It makes more sense that all of the above happened only after the 2nd film. Think about it: 1) MARTY in the original; 2) Doc with the same car in the 2nd, 3) OLD BIFF appearing in the sky, too.

I think it's a weak story if we argue only #1 drove him mad.

Look at the newspaper date, it's indeed Nov 6, 1955, not 12 or 13:

Did Marty actually consider killing Buford? Spoiler

I know he intended to just leave but he did say if Buford was looking for trouble, Marty would engage. My question is, would he have killed Buford if he needed to? Because that would have completely fucked the time continuoum, since neither Biff nor Griff would have been born and they both are really important in the time continuoum lol
